I've been wearing this for a few days, and all I can say, this is honestly my favorite watch in my collection. 38mm is such a great size. Since I got into this hobby, TGV has been my fav channel as the channel really displays what watches all about, emotion. Thank you to Mark and TGV, one could say I am "chuffed to bits".

This blows the Tudor Ranger out of the water. Sold out quickly but I'm waiting for a restock. This is what I call a terrific collab not like that John Mayer/Casio nonsense. The Islander and TGV logos on the dial work perfectly with the style of the watch and Marc's builds are flawless. Congratulations my good Sir's and continued success.

This is really nice. I am such a fan of the 1016, 14270, the Ranger and, forgive me for mixing brands here, the SARB 033. I have always loved the classic yet quietly rugged nature of these designs. They don't appear brawny and alpha yet they perform in such a manner. It makes me happy to see another true to character watch come out of a fitting collaboration. Great work.

Well done TGV!! Beautiful watch!! Love the C&C inspiration. Would of brought it if I didn't have ALOT OF black dial watches haha. white dial variant 100% woulf of oulled the trigger. Would of been cool to mimic the white snow in C&C for dial inspiration 🤣.

Received mine yesterday, and I’m loving it. The nitpicky comments I’m seeing amount to nothing when you have the watch in-hand…the measurements and the design choices are *spot on*. My other watch purchase this year was a $5000 Grand Seiko, and I’m enjoying this one just as much. And after 24 hours it’s running at +1 seconds…fantastic job all around!

@@thirumurthi Yeah sure…it’s a reference SBGA429. Don’t get me wrong - the Grand Seiko is a better watch in virtually every category. But the rangemaster was a pleasant surprise, and a reminder that affordable watches can be high quality and a lot of fun.

Islander Watches:
1) Simply making watches by copy pasting the design of other brands.
2) Using the movement of other brands.
3) Attaching Islander logo on the watch.
4) Selling it with a price of a Seiko or even more.

Gutted I missed this one, love the explorer style dial and great size too. Ooh you had to mention the North Flag and rub the salt in, another great watch I coveted but never picked up while in production.

I haven't been following either yours or Marc's channel closely for awhile so when I received the mail notification through the Island Watch mail list, I was very surprised. The Rolex Explorer is a grail I might never get, and I'm very pleased with the Borealis Adraga as a homage and its larger size is great for me, but this smaller watch I think will be a great gift for my wife, so I immediately ordered one. Best of fortunes to both of you with this collaboration.

I mustered up the last-minute funds and then went to the Long Island Watch website and it was already sold out! This comes out a day after I end my time in Automotive Service where my daily was an ISL-82 Mitchell blackout field watch on a black Zulu strap (with a touch of yellow on the dial, a personal favorite). The black Mitchell is perfectly rugged enough for a blue-collar career with an understated, functional appearance that does its job with the utmost of simplicity and legibility without drawing any attention to itself. "Gee, that's a fancy, shiny watch you got there!" isn't a good look when you're covered in grease, motor oil, and brake dust.
Now I'm pursuing a white-collar career with the FAA, this looks like the perfect do-it-all professional watch to mark this milestone in my own life, where a matte black-out watch on a black canvas strap might not mesh so well with a dress shirt and slacks. Grabbed this watch before the video was even over.

Very cool. I love the idea of modernizing a design while still staying true to the classic format and genre. And lusting after ever more refined complications and dial layouts aside a robust no-nonsense do-it-all 3-hander is what every collection needs at least once.

Brilliant! Congratulations to both you and Marc! pura eleganza! I was at the Wind Up watch fair in NYC and saw Marc. Didn't get the chance to say hi because He's a rockstar and was mobbed by the watchinistas the whole time! If i hadn't purchased my Seiko X Tic Tac 35th anniversary model i would be ALL OVER THIS! There are two Rangemasters listed for auction on ebay and the bidding is at $600 for one and $610 for the other! The lowest buy it now price for a Rangemaster is $875! Glad I ordered mine early!
They'd be worth it for twice that price. In five years, these are going to be trading for $5,000.

Hello TGV and Mark!
First of all, congratulations! The watch looks amazing. However, I am a little bit sad that I did not have the opportunity to buy one for me since, as of this moment, the watch sold out. Buying a watch designed by you and Mark would be an honour and a way to make myself feel a part of the gentry communtiy.
I started my watch voyage in 2010 (I was 17 at the time) due to my grandfather, who gave me his manual wind watch. At that time I did even know that such a thing existed. Later, around 2015, the passion for mechanical time pieces grew exponentially and I turned to RUclips for knowledge. Naturally, your channel and Mark's channel, were the main source of it. I have been following you two independently for all these years and was truly happy when the "crossover" started in video podcast form. Knowing that Mark had his Islander brand, I suspected it was only a matter of time before a watch collaboration like this happened.
I am truly happy for your and Mark sucess, but I cannot escape from the fellings of sadness of not being able to buy the Rangemaster.
I hope you and Mark collaborate again in the future but please, in the next time, make more watches! So that more of your gentry fellows are able to participate in the celebration of both of your channels.

I think the collaboration is interesting but I cannot say that this watch is very appealing. This may be due to me not being a big fan of either the Explorer or Tudor Ranger. I also find the branding to be a bit much as there are not one but two logos on the dial. I am not sure if a new logo that combines elements of the two on the on the dial would be possible or maybe just split the difference and have the islander logo on the front and the TGV logo on the crown or back of the watch. The price is reasonable, but for a bit more money, one can obtain the SWC Bunker, Bulova VW1, Hamilton Khaki, or the Seiko SRPG35 (which is $100 less). Having said all of that, I think it is hard to come up with totally novel designs that don't allude to what has been done before in some capacity at a price that is considered to be affordable (less than $500). I think it is also clear that TGV and Mark loved this project and are clearly happy and excited with the result. In the end, that's all that matters.
And my thanks to you both, for your collaboration, has shaken a Helm Komodo white dial loose from its previous owner as he chased down funds to secure one of your attractive Rangemasters. And that Komodo is now in my collection, Bravo 👏 gentlemen.
At approximately the 8:45 "strap monsters" mark I found myself immediately heading to the Islander site to snag up this gorgeously understated time piece. Really can't speak enough praise in regards to your RUclips content and how much entertainment it's brought me since subscribing to the channel. Exceptional work. My only negative would be that at first look, it looks a bit too much "homage" with obvious references: Explorer dial, Tudor writing, Ranger hands, Seiko hour markers...
Maybe just bad timing with the new Ranger release.
These are great references but the result seems to lack its own style and its own identity.
TGV, I got the watch today. You and Marc nailed it. Your design on the face is captivating and so legible. I find myself looking at it frequently. The case just frames it all pefectly.

TGV old chap, an absolute stunner. You and Mark have made a truly unique piece. My one criticism, and it is only one. The position of the logos, I feel it would work better aesthetically if the lion crest was under the twelve and the Islander logo was at the six given its smaller size and shape. A very tooltastic piece.

I wish more brands would do engraved casebacks. In my opinion, it looks much more premium than see-through casebacks.

Received one of these today , got it sized and it looks like it was custom made to fit my wrist . Kind of like when jeans are painted on a naked lady but not the exact same type of excitement . Still very excited though lol . I already prize it . Technically of course it's a formidable time piece but in person for me it's great . Wish I'd bought 3 , one for a spare (I've a sense it's that good) and the 3rd to sell overpriced to pay for my two free excellent watches . I'd imagine that many may under rate this watch in theory but I personally couldn't be more so pleased . Good job to both parties in this collaboration ! A legitimate hit ! Cool .

I just placed my order. I've been looking for a "explorer" style watch for ages as that is my grail but I will never be able to afford it. The Ali-Express sale was starting and I was tempted to get one of the higher quality homages from there but just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger... way too many ifs... Your new watch came out of the blue today and while I shouldn't have(I really don't need yet another watch lol) I just could not resist. It costs less than the San Martin from Ali and I KNOW it is much higher quality. I trust you and I trust Islander. So thanks man. I get a watch I can afford and can trust to work properly plus it is styled perfectly. Not too much of any one watch to be called an homage, at least not in my opinion, but with the styling that is close enough to my grail to be just right. Perfection personified! Bravo. Can't wait for it to arrive.
Oh, and I too own a Seiko SARB 033. I can see a little of that here but that is a far more dressy watch. I wear that one with my suit. I bought a jubilee for it. So now I have both :) I love that size. Not a fan of the huge watches most people prefer these days. If I want a wall clock I'll hang it around my neck like Flavor Flav lol

Its a subtle watch, but with the details of the military time, logos, ar coated sapphire, space for synchro on the track and the lume, etc etc. Well worth it at its pricepoint. Great job man.
So sad that it's limited I love the watch and the simplicity yet strong presence of the watch great job really I am very impressed, beautiful specs that everyone can enjoy on the wrist but the logo has to go I like it on the case back and claps even on the crown it's cool 👌⌚🤙🇿🇦😂
Sorry it is a bit offtopic, but I really don't understand what "Do it all watch" means when it does nothing except tells the time.
Imho "do it all" sounds like G-Shock - it has perpetual calendar, world time, chronograph, alarm and you can safely jump into the ocean if you want to.
And if you step of the route in Patagonia by accident and wander some days around then Rolex Explorer won't help much to keep track of the days if u don't have working phone or other electronics anymore.

Ok, take my money! Ironically, I have been looking at the Tudor Ranger and although this reminds of it, I actually like the styling of this watch better. This watch packs a lot in for the price. I have my order in and now begins the process of anticipation! Thanks TGV for your awesome design and Marc for producing this beaut!
Had no clue about this. Would have totally purchased one and they are sold out. I really dig offering a miyota over a Seiko movement for a change. And I’ve watched you and Marc (not close enough I guess) for a long time. Special to have both your logos on the dial too. I’m kinda really bummed out.
I'm so disappointed that I missed out on this watch. Two of my favorite watch-You tubers/ enthusiasts do a collaboration and nail it! Uuuugh! Oh well, onwards and upwards and well done sir!

Beautiful watch with the right design decisions made. Would love to own one, but when I woke up and watched the video they where sadly already sold out.
Where to start. I was already a fan of the Ranger. It seems as though TGV made it better. He is also responsible for fixing the Hanhart 417es. Not only that, but my Lorier Safari in copper is always getting compliments out of the blue. I hope TGV continues his collaborations. He hasnt missed yet!
I like it. Kinda Tudor Ranger, Kinda Rolex Explorer.. Made cheap but in a good way. A good looking reliable beater. Nice styling . Im guessing Miyota 9039? Havent seen specs. A positive on a beater: You wear it more. You bond with it more. Clever move , EGV.
