  • In “The Space”, Arthur Colin recalls Ravenscraig Steelworks, closed in 1992, and comments on the challenges of regeneration. The brownfield site, situated between Motherwell and Wishaw, remains largely undeveloped 28 years later.

    Is there any building s left at ravenscraig

      I think all the buildings which belonged to British Steel are long gone. ScottishPower still have a substation on the site. There are of course new buildings, such as houses, a pub, a sports centre, and a children’s park.

      @@stevenjordan6529 yes, that’s Dalzell Works. It’s a plate mill. Amazing how it has survived. It was tipped to close back in the seventies!Maybe the Scottish Government gave Liberty a sweetener to buy it? Ravenscraig Works used to send slabs across to Dalzell Works to roll into plate.
