    It's so funny that there's a feature called "traction control" that you have to disable to get more traction.

    • @MrAcuta73
      @MrAcuta73 2 года назад +5

      To be fair, traction control is for slippery road conditions, NOT for off-road use. Tacos have the same "problem", except it's not a problem, just an issue with user headspace and timing.

    • @mikeoxlong3676
      @mikeoxlong3676 2 года назад +2

      I'm still not sure what traction control does. Even with traction control disabled my VDC can't be disabled and it keeps me on the road... So Idk what Trac control is for.

    • @MrAcuta73
      @MrAcuta73 2 года назад +4

      @@mikeoxlong3676 It supposedly slows any wheel that is slipping in an attempt to get it to grab traction again. The only time I've ever found it to do anything for me is when starting out on a sheet of ice. And not much even then.

    I drove my 2020 ZR2, bison’d +, 19 hours one day and was more comfortable, by far, than any other truck I’ve owned including dodge Laramie 2500 Cummins and Ford super duty 350 Lariat single axle power stroke. The best thing though, nearly 500 mile range with 33’s. 1st gm truck ever and you couldn’t pry it away from me.

    I think AEV builds (not just the individual products) are well worth the money. Their Jeep and RAM builds are rock solid, beginning with their suspension packages which are always geared towards preserving on-road handling while offering great off road capability. I suspect that they offer a removable license plate bracket with a quick release if you want to install a winch behind the bumper (which is also made of boron steel, by the way). It would be cool if you could review their Prospector XL.

    Also, diesels aren’t quick, never were, but that’s not what they’re made for. There’s a reason large tractors and trucks are diesel. Because, while being slow they can apply tons of torque when needed.

    I drove the diesel also.... I got on the on ramp to a interstate and took the next exit to turn around and bring it back to the dealer. Gutless is polite.
    Btw. To the other commenters in here that talk about what the truck is used for....keep in mind the zr2 was designed as a high speed off road truck.
    Think raptor. and the bison(which is a zr2 with things added from ave) has the same shocks and majority of the suspension as the zr2. It was designed not as a rock crawler or heavy weight tower.
    My friend has a Rubicon on 37's with the eco diesel. It weighs almost 1k more than the bison. And no re-gear. It still can get out of its own way unlike the diesel zr2.

    I bought a 2022 Ford Ranger last week. It wasn't even on my list until I saw your Tremor review. Sure, it doesn't have all the goodies this Bison has but I've got a truck that's pretty capable and just a bit more modern on the inside. It cost a lot less too. Great review Sarah and I'm glad you tackled that big hill!

      You can always buy parts from Australia for the Ranger Raptor, I’m sure some of the stuff will work on a U.S. spec Ranger.

    I just a bought fully loaded 2022 GMC Canyon AT4 with the off road package, same exact color as the Colorado you tested. What a great lil truck. mine has the 3.0 gas engine and it hauls ass pretty well. I was off roading it near Sahuarita AZ and I almost flipped it being stupid while catching some fat air jumping it...bahaha crazy fun!

    I was hoping you would comment on how hard it would be to replace a turbo on this engine. I'm guessing you are one of the few people that would attempt it if you owned one that developed turbo issues after the warranty expired. Great videos Sarah!

    Small diesels aren't popular with mall crawlers, but actual off-roaders are constantly stuffing TDI, OM606, 4BT, and any other small diesel they can find in every popular and not so popular Overland/Off-road vehicle you can think of.
    Bummer about the seats, but the engine can be built up. One of the ONLY reasons I'd consider spending the money on something like that truck. It has a ton of stuff you'd otherwise have to buy aftermarket, and it has an engine you can do a LOT with.

    Bummed they are pulling the diesel option on the Colorado for the next gen. We had a 4x4, crew cab, long bed LT trim Duramax and it was awesome. We saw 34-36mpg all the time and it hauled and towed extremely well for its size.

    Love how your reviews go under the car too, nobody else does it in such detail. Can you review the AMG GLB 35? I'm thinking of getting one for the unique boxy shape.

    nice review and that angle the truck is at during your scoring makes it look perfect, tire/stance/proportion. I like the look of the mid size trucks with 35's. Agree on interior. hope they address it.

    Great review, Sarah. I appreciate your objectivity in reviewing vehicles. I have a GMC Canyon Denali, which shares many traits of this truck. I really like my truck and share your views on the interior. I must say the off-road prowess of this truck is amazing. Keep "giving it the beans." BTW...there are actually some restaurants that serve Bison burgers!

    My only complaint for my ZR2 is on washboard roads its unstable.. though after some research I found many trucks are like this. I have fixed this issue by adding some rubber shims in the leaf springs and airing down to 20psi. Much better!

    It's an amazing truck! I have a '20 Bison, diesel crew cab, and I've already put the snorkel on it, the low tube front center section, as well as the one remaining skid plate (for the transmission) and some rear shock skids. It's pretty amazing off-road and I've been getting 20mpg consistently with every tank regardless of how I drive it. 😎🤘
