In every successful business you need a Visionary and an Integrator. It’s crazy how these 2 naturally fell into these roles and took the band to a different level.
Yeah. They seem miss matched and like chalk and cheese. But it works so well. When they were talking about Oli wanting to do this different weird stuff and Jordan was like nah that's not guna work. All I had in my head was The short clip where Oli wants to add elephant noises in teardrops. But it worked 😂😂
The fact Jordan doesn't think Sempiternal is anything other than "borrowing" from influences is just... so insane. That album is still the best Album I've heard in the past 10 years. It is THE metalcore album to me, and set the tone for the entire scene for a decade.
This is incredible, the fact that Finn is interviewing a key member of, I would say, one of the biggest rock/metal bands right now shows how much his channel and his status in the scene has grown. Congratulations on the interview that has really been very good.
Jordan is definitely their secret weapon. *Obviously* they're all 100% proficient and with their own instruments but when Oli was really struggling with his vocals, Jordan really saved the day. Yeah I really respect his influence.
The person who for the most redefined the metal scene of today's era. His job in arrangements, incorporating pop structure and modern sounds has been monumental. If Falling in Reverse is cool now, is because 10 years ago we had Sempiternal and people have accepted new sounds in metal.
They are clearly a huge influence on today's scene, but we do need to recognize that they are an evolution from what Linkin Park was doing. A significant step forward, to be sure, but there is connective tissue there.
Oli is an awesome frontman (I'm quite shocked about the fact that he couldn't sing at all before, freaking impressive how he sings now lol). But man, this guy is so talented that he took BMTH to a different level. To be honest, I started to like them more since Sempiternal. Besides that, he looks so nice and humble. You know, I would actually like it if BMTH did a full orchestral album. Sempiternal and the Royal Albert Hall concert is as close as that gets. I think an orchestral album would be a very good way to break into another new area of music that frankly hasn't been done often.
The usage of symphonic instruments really gives that concert an entirely different vibe. Happy Song is one of the getaway examples, it’s strangely higher energy than the original. Symphonic metal is rarely done right, but I’d like to see their take on it.
It puzzles me that some people are still like "are they ever gonna be heavy again?" dude, they released Post Human Survival Horror in 2020, what more do you need? Recount Your Blessings?
Those people will always moan. Not like there isn't so much deathcore out there. Go listen to Lorna shore and shut ya bitchin😂😂. You're either on board with BMTH or ya not. But they've not been deathcore for so long, the moaners just need to get over it. and just enjoy when they do bring out some heavy. It's like they want them to make music just for their tiny minds. They even call people not true bring me fans if they don't just like that. Like. WTF 😂😂
What they mean by heavy again is all the songs need to be nothing but rawrs and dissonant riff salad that run together in such a way that you have to check to see if it's the same song or not.

Great interview, Jordan seems like such a nice and humble person. I love what BMTH have become and can't wait for whatever they have in store for us in the future.
FULLSTOP BMTH is this generation’s LP and the things they do break down “boundaries” and evolve not only the genre but music as a whole, people to me don’t seem to understand the history being made right in-front of all of us and how their genius of music changed it forever.
Finn's super right. The way a producer coaches a singer can totally change their sound in a good way and also bad way. That's why I sometimes notice that some bands sound better with a certain producer cause he can get more performance out of a band
I first got into metalcore back in 2014 with asking Alexandria being my biggest band long story short fast forward to 2020 I had no hope for asking, ya is cool Danny is back but not my style then heard post human and I was like Godammit dog I missed on BMTH all these year not only that heard they weren’t heavy either but ones I heard king slayer with baby metal I knew I was listening to the wrong band all these years who completely were not in for the “heavy music” thank you Jordan Fish! and everyone in bring me the horizon.
I've been following BMTH religiously when I was younger, and it felt like they hit a wall and/or a plateau pre-Jordan. His addition to the band was a godsend, and they're not showing signs of slowing down. The new single even gives me hope that they're making something that can rival Sempiternal's impact on the scene. Always looking forward to what they're going to do next!

It's an amazing album, I honestly think mother tongue is the only weak song on it (and medicine feels like a leftover from TTS) but I can imagine them making even better songs as he says. Man their storage of unreleased songs must be a goldmine, I LOVE their experimental stuff like on "Music to listen to" and "amo" too, I hope they dont hold back on those, eventhough I think Post Human is a masterpiece and want so much more of that.
It’s interesting to hear his brief perspective on that’s the spirit. That is probably my favorite album of all time. I can’t get enough of it even after all these years.

i dove into bmth in 2020 after hearing mantra by chance on a random playlist my roomie was listening to. they are my fav band hands down. at the time i thought that album was how they always sounded then i found the later albums and i completely fell in love with this band. the only album i dont like is count your blessings but i wasnt into that. SS was amazing, even the edm covers. there is a hell is amazing, sempiternal is beyond amazing, tts is great but theres a couple songs i dont vibe with, same for amo (love mantra and S.h.i.t and wonderful life) post human was so good. i love that whatever music im in the mood for, my fav band has a song to quench that thirst. that is so rare to find a band that not only dont give a shit about what ppl want and just make their own art, but they dip into all the genres i like and its so cool.
For me the thing with count your blessings is that it came out when I was starting high school. So it holds a nostalgic place since all my friends liked it too. But sempiternal and that's the spirit are soooo good. And there is a hell is so underrated. One of the most influential bands, now other bands are kind of copying their style

This goes to show the status Finn has in the metal/punk/emo scene as a whole where he's doing interviews with punk legends like Fat Mike, Nik Nokturnal, and now Jordan Fish. Who is part of perhaps the most pioneering band in metalcore for the last 10 years. Absolutely deserved. Finn came a long way
So weird to think oli being tone deaf well beginning of his career was screaming ,but as i remember chelsea smile was scream singing and it was not bad ,yess the new song sound like falling in reverse and mcr and kpop combo, first pop in my mind was fashionably late era and refreshing that someone finally said it !! that whole being the trend or category is bull, not important music is music❤ i hope that bmth will exist as long as metallica ,i'll be the future old lady still going to the shows😂😅😅
It's almost paradoxical. On the one hand, I respect BMTH as one of the greatest bands ever. On the other hand, they have a lot of songs that don't meet my taste. Yet I can't help but love them.

Man their storage of unreleased songs must be a goldmine, I LOVE their experimental stuff like on "Music to listen to" and "amo" too, I hope they dont hold back on those, eventhough I think Post Human is a masterpiece and want so much more of that.
he just does the same as I do at work during google meetings; Always checking myself on camera 🤣🤣🤣
its wild how honest and fair this man likes to be
this felt so quick wow. love jordan sm bro thats my goat
It’s interesting to hear his brief perspective on that’s the spirit. That is probably my favorite album of all time. I can’t get enough of it even after all these years.
jordan’s band WORSHIP was so good. i think leviathan was their last single before he joined BMTH. he adds so much to the band!
Deathcore bands:*adds like 4 lines of singing to an album*
Fans:"f*ck these guys, theyve changed"
Bmth:*has a new genre every song*
Fans:"good ol bmth, love these guys"
You're already a classic band, Jordan. If you put together a top 20 best of album, it's bangers all the way through.
They have a 'best of' 2004-2013 record. It's just called 2004-2013. 15 tracks.
@@GhostBoyGhoul which is funny considering they’ve basically disowned their first album
i dove into bmth in 2020 after hearing mantra by chance on a random playlist my roomie was listening to. they are my fav band hands down. at the time i thought that album was how they always sounded then i found the later albums and i completely fell in love with this band. the only album i dont like is count your blessings but i wasnt into that.
States how Dear Diary is basically a Slayer song BMTH style. Respect. Homeboy even sounds like Tom Araya off God Hates us all with that voice effect. Great song.
Whatching this again while crying
This was great. Your channel is so diverse lol. I love your sense of humor with the tier/compass videos and your insightfulness with these interviews. You are great at directing the conversation while still allowing the guest to speak freely and finish their thoughts which is enjoyable to listen to!!
Awesome interview❤ Now I'm even more hyped for 4th EP with Mick Gordon vibes😅🔥
This goes to show the status Finn has in the metal/punk/emo scene as a whole where he's doing interviews with punk legends like Fat Mike, Nik Nokturnal, and now Jordan Fish. Who is part of perhaps the most pioneering band in metalcore for the last 10 years. Absolutely deserved. Finn came a long way
This is such an amazing interview. Being oli :p
And fuck yes LOST is THE song (with THRONE). Those 2 I can't stop listening
So weird to think oli being tone deaf well beginning of his career was screaming ,but as i remember chelsea smile was scream singing and it was not bad ,yess the new song sound like falling in reverse and mcr and kpop combo, first pop in my mind was fashionably late era and refreshing that someone finally said it !! that whole being the trend or category is bull, not important music is music❤ i hope that bmth will exist as long as metallica ,i'll be the future old lady still going to the shows😂😅😅
Take a shot every time Jordan touches his hair and you’ll be dead 😂
It's almost paradoxical. On the one hand, I respect BMTH as one of the greatest bands ever. On the other hand, they have a lot of songs that don't meet my taste. Yet I can't help but love them.
A good song is a good song
Both jordan and Oli are so handsome
People will look back at BMTH 10 years from now and realize they are ahead of their time.
People notice it even now. Every trending thing in metal is what BMTH did 2 years prior it's blow up
Such an underrated talent.
Wonderful interview, thank you
I’m so glad Jordan is being interviewed
No h*mo but that boi a hunk!
