I gotta say Pete, your videos on this channel have been bringing me back to a healthy collectors mindset. I used to open Pokémon cards purely for the chase, just toss everything else aside and feel pissed off if I got “nothing.” Watching you open big TCGs, small TCGs, dead TCGs, etc., has brought back some of the magic for me. Seeing you get excited over getting a card you like, regardless of its monetary value, has given me the realization that I completely lost myself in the financial aspect of card collecting. The other day I bought some Star Wars Unlimited packs and got hyped just finding characters I liked lmao. So thanks for making these videos.

Thanks for the kind words. Pokemon can be rough indeed with modern packs, which is why I like focusing on just collecting the original 151 and trying my best to stay blind on what to expect so I can get excited over seeing the art. Star Wars Unlimited is a reqlly fun set to open because even the common cards can have fun hyperspace variants.

I’ve opened 5 blasters of this set and so far I’ve hit the jackpot. I have hit the Alan Bomb artist autograph, the Sit and Sven artist autograph and an artist signed sketch card. It’s the first time I’ve ever hit an auto or sketch card.

That’s cool. I didn’t think anything special came in these boxes. I thought sketch cards and autograph cards were in hobby and collector boxes.

Yeah. I didn't know influencers had cards. 😂 I passed them without knowing. 1a/b of them is that mythical morning peeps. 🙂

I've been collecting GPK since the 80's and if anyone ever wondered why these cards are so popular and remain that way it's the art and how clever the cards are, the creativity behind these is awfully good, that being said I think the greatest artwork was series 1,2,3 and 4 after that there are good cards don't get me wrong but I think they peaked in those first 4 series...Cheers!

Really enjoying this channel Pete! Would be really nice if you could do tutorials for how to play some of the TCG you open up here (like Star War Unlimited). Might require too much set-up and fiddling around though. To answer your question (I've been collecting these cards since your first unboxing of them): I am collecting only the ones with the art that I really like which is usually depictions with a simple concept that are quite adorable and violent/disgusting. Unfortunately, as you noticed with this series, I ended up only keeping about 25 cards from the 200 card hobby box.

I’m hoping it’s not going to be the future direction of GPK. I like the R-rated stuff too and not so much the PG cards. Considering the name of this set it appears to target a more kid friendly audience which is fine, but in the future I may have ro stick to stuff like Chrome/Sapphire if it uses older more dark artwork.
