And even then are you talking Highland or lowland Scots accent or Glasgow or Edinburgh? North Welsh or South? Cumbria, Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham, London, Cornish, Essex, Bristol Derby etc etc etc@@littlemissgroove
I loved this. Reminds me of when I was little and my mom would read ghost stories to me before bed. My parents and I bonded over horror when I was small. Weirdly, it didn't give me nightmares even at a young age.
I do the same with my baby. The first book I read to him in the NICU(while we were doing skin-to-skin) was Franz Kafka Metamorphosis, a great horror/Comedy.
It's not that ghost stories get me to sleep; it's that I listen to ghost stories because they're what you are interested in, and I have to go along with you. You could read the telephone book or the encyclopedia or the periodic table of the elements and I would fall asleep with them. I love the stories you write. I hope that you can support yourself on your writing someday. I guessed that The Hexham Heads was one of your stories.
Hexham heads is a true story just rewritten by me with not much added. Sometimes I add a lot of things to the original tales. I am writing a bit more fiction at the moment
@@ClassicGhostlol i recently came upon your channel and do appreciate a voice that is complimentary to the ear. But, some of the women on here crack me up. They sound like Elvis groupies that just hit puberty! Lol but I am glad I did happen about the channel because while I don’t mind listening to the same stories over again. Listening to my two regular channels over the last three years well I have listened to some of my favorite stories several times. I’ve attempted to find new channels but I am quite picky when I’m trying to sleep some voices are like sandpaper to my ears!
I love falling to sleep with ghost stories , and a quality narrator makes all the difference. Thank you. I I too would love t hear you narrate Dracula.
i can’t believe i’ve found another story teller who is really good. very enjoyable. i like your approach and your voice is wonderful. thanks much. :) just explain to me one thing - why are so many really good readers read ghost stories. i mean there’s loads of short stories which have nothing to do with ghosts. LOL
'Springheel Jack' and 'Jack the Ripper' were both referred to by the named 'Jack' because that was apparently a generic name that was often used in those days in the same way we use ' Fred Bloggs' or the Americans use 'John Doe' nowadays. The media christened them those names - the 'Dear Boss' letter that first gave the name 'Jack the Ripper' is believed to probably be a letter sent by a reporter to generate more interest in the story. Another generic 'Jack' is 'Jolly Jack Tar' - the nickname for ANY sailor. Also 'Jack of all trades' etc. John was a very common first name and Johns were often known as Jack.
Your story about the death mask was fascinating and, from the stories I have heard about dolls, probably correct. I did not like dolls when I was a little girl. Except for Barbie, they made me uncomfortable and I would end up giving them away.
Hi Tony! Please advise how to find your readings of Dracula from the beginning! Why am I confused and unable to locate it? Is it time for me to become a member? Thanks much.
I grew up in a haunted house and have had some terrifying expirences there. When I moved out for college, the paranormal experiences got worse and eventually everything came to a head. It took me too long to understand what was happening was paranormal. I made a few videos about it on my channel if youre interestes
Who buys something that they think is very ugly and puts it up in their bedroom? Who gets weird heads sent, with a strange story coming attached to them, hAs a weird feeling when they receive those heads and forgets about them? I like a good ghost story but it has to be believable on some level.
Dude..u blew me away when..just after "the tower"....the lyrics from hawkwind "steppenwolf"....I even checked it on your chapter listings..AND ...u listed it!!..btw love your channel brother
I use an app to add sleep sounds to all your stories. I sleep with headphones on, and I'm one of those weirdos who loves to drift off to the dark and lovely. Imagine my surprise to find I'm not alone! Only trouble is, I get so involved in the stories I have to listen to like three before I finally pass out. This is entirely your fault and I'm taking you to court :)
@@ClassicGhost it's an app called Atmosphere. I run it in the background while I listen to you in the foreground. I've currently programmed a thunderstorm at sea whilst I start Unreal City

Rain, ghost stories AND a British accent?!? How can I ever thank you enough?!? 🌟💫
No such thing as a British accent. Its English, irish, Scottish or Welsh accent

Tony, what would be the accurate way to describe your accent ?
@@garybernstein3527 his accent is northern English, NW more specifically

There is something oddly comforting about it I agree

Your parents sound dope :) you were a lucky kid
@@JennyLane8666 They really are amazing. I am grateful for them every day.
How could they be scary when you can equate them with comfort and love?

As a nativd Chicagoan, I learned today (from a Brit) the correct US meaning of a "duplex". I've always known it as an apartment that spans two floors.
I think it's a semi-detached house in the UK
Great telling!
