Since my stroke, I am basically right handed only so I no longer use my TH8a; or paddle shifters and use automatic transmission now and one handed (right) on the wheel; but at least I am still racing/trucking/farming eh! :)

I have the same condtion but I use the fanatec advanced shifter module or the mclaren wheel and I hope that Ascher Racing reboots the push pull shifter
It's a great shifter, has an excellent "clunk" feel... as long as it doesn't develop problems or fail. When mine was just a few months old, it began to randomly mis-shift. I discovered there was interference affecting one of the Hall sensor PCBs. The fix was easy--a few layers of electrical tape on the back of the PCB eliminated the problem. I also received the handbrake at the same time--it began to randomly trigger and cause the car to spin out without warning. Unfortunately, after years of using Fanatec products, all the RMAs and repairs, I won't be purchasing any more of their products. Their Clubsport v3 pedals are the only thing that hasn't failed me.
They've made decent pedals for a long time, I'm not a fan of the V3's although the clutch pedal is very good, for me the CSL Elite V2's are where its at. Not so pretty but still got bombproof construction and the best brake pedal without spending a lot more. My other Fanatec gear has proven reliable but I think €260 is steep, I wouldn't use the sequential shifter mode, because that's what paddles are for, and although the H pattern mode is ok it's now surpassed by Moza's excellent HGP for considerably less money.
Just wanted to add a small correction... if you can call it that. When shifting from 6th into 7th, you push the lever down, but 7th gear has it's own slot, you don't just push it up into 5th. You just cant get the stick into 7th slot without having it pushed down, but it definitely has it's own slot. If I watched this review without owning the stick, that would be a bit of a deal breaker for me because i really dislike the same slot for multiple gears. The logitech shifter does that. I've owned this shifter for a year or so, and i only drive H pattern cars so i use it a lot. It's a nice shifter. Probably the only item on my rig i don't think i could ever "upgrade". The shorter shaft from ebay is a great upgrade, it's not too expensive and it gives the gears a much shorter throw, much more of a sport feel.
I have this shifter. It feels nice but... If you plug into the wheel base, which you need to do for console, you will likely have misshifts due to Grounding issues. On PC i use the dongle and there are zero issues, but on PS5 i plug into the base, I ground the unit, I have added RFI suppressors, and I have to clean the inside of the unit with alcohol to keep it working properly.
I have found the same issues when plugged into the wheelbase. I was so frustrated with misshifts that I snapped my shift rod in half and sent the knob across the room. I welded the shaft back, and perodically take it apart to clean it so it will work for another 2 nights before glitching again. I will have to try the dongle out before I toss it in the trash.
This is great for us NASCAR sim racers, we can use the H-Pattern when running the trucks or Xfinity cars. Then use the sequential in the Cup cars. Great versatility! .

Happy birthday OC. And i have a question. Should i get a h pattern shifter for my first wheel or not? Bc im a new sim racing fan and i want to know if a h pattern shifter is any good for a new sim racing fan who cant drive.
It really depends on what you like to do when sim racing! If you only race with cars that use paddle shifters, there’s really no need. However, if you enjoy rallying, cruising around open world maps etc. and have a need for an H-pattern, go for it. Does that make sense?
I made a mate of mine who's only driven auto's irl try out my H pattern shifter on Assetto Corsa - he upgraded to a wheel with a shifter (DFGT -> G27) sometime after that and he loves using the shifter.
AMS2 has so many older cars to use H pat with. Makes time in the rig really engaging. I had a lot of fun learning heel toe back in the day on gt5. I’d consider trying it out if you can.
@@s.baldrick3807 getting an H pattern for my sim setup changed the way I look at cars. seriously, since I started driving assetto corsa mods of some of these newer manual cars (GR yaris, Civic Type-Rs, etc.) I'm much more interested in getting one, and I could actually drive and shift properly on a test drive of a GR corolla lmao. score!!

@@OCRacing Thanks for the update. Cant wait till its out.
@@OCRacing Yes, i really like cruising! Thank you for the responce!
@@s.baldrick3807 getting an H pattern for my sim setup changed the way I look at cars. seriously, since I started driving assetto corsa mods of some of these newer manual cars (GR yaris, Civic Type-Rs, etc.) I'm much more interested in getting one, and I could actually drive and shift properly on a test drive of a GR corolla lmao. score!!
The shifter with the adapter and table clamp is already the same price as a Second hand G29 and Shifter 💀💀
Yes it is, but then you are stuck with a G29.
@@Toutvids thats 100% true. I have the G29 and I have to say that’s it is a piece of shit
@@boritobe2752 LMAO, so true. I had a G920 and sold it for cheap three months after buying it.
@@Toutvids the shifter is also crap. The wheel itself is not so bad except that it wiggles. But the pedals💀
@@boritobe2752 yeah I actually like the leather wheel, it was nice.
Can we use this shifter in thrustmaster ts xw ?
so, im poor, and just bought a new dd and a mclaren gt3 wheel, i would like to get a shifter later on down the line but i could not bring myself to yet consider this shifter as it is over 200$. so my question is, can you get shifters from diffrent companies and them still be compatible with the csl dd?
side not, im a new sim racer, so if this is a dumb question I appologize.
Yes, if you didn’t find out already. Anything with a usb port to connect to your pc separately should work. (At least to my knowledge)
Can you use this for ps5 with a non-fanatec wheel base? Didn’t understand your comment on the dongle
Nope
Don't even want a shifter... yet here I am.😅🤣
THAT’S WHY HE’S THE GOAT
Does shifter come with attachment mechanism to attach it to table for example?
No 100$
Can I connect this shifter to other whell bases such as thrustmaster through usb?
Yes, but you need the USB adaptor. You don't connect it to the thrustmaster base, you just connect it via USB and map it accordingly.
Can you you this with a moza r9 DD
5 months late but yes. Separate devices.
although this is cool i like the th8a better cus it looks good and definitely not because I own one
😂
T8 is fling terrible. 1 3 5 feels the same
its way too expensive.
You just abandoned the new logitech wheel
Logitech never reached out to me and no way in hell I’m paying $1000+ lol
