- This goofy rooster has a big personality and adores boxes and attacking shoes! Olga and her husband found him abandoned in a parking lot and he jumped in their truck. They knew it was a sign so they took him home and let him change their lives, getting him hens to look after and even a lady love. They are so happy to be part of his flock and Kyle the rooster is a joy to see

I watched a Rooster raise chicks when someone killed the hen, the were feral but we were clear to neighbors, if they are on our property they are in a safe zone...and when the rooster realized it....he always kept the chicks safe on our property. They are amazing sentient beings.

Every single living thing had their own unique personality. It breaks my heart thinking about the ones we slaughter every day for food.
Yes, and the male chicks are just ground up feathers and all for dog food the moment they're old enough to determine the sex. Workers stand by conveyer belts of thousands of little chicks, picking them up and sorting them. Tge males go to the grinder, the females get to lay eggs in massive tin barns. Bc roosters aren't profitable for the food industry.

Very sweet. We made a lot of mistakes,too,when first raised chickens. Just for the eggs. The biggest,saddest mistake was not knowing how many predators were around looking to kill these chickens. You must know your area and protect them,day and night. I have had bobcats jump tne fence,gtab a chicken,and,jump back over,during the day with me standing there! Good luck.

I take care of a lady. She also has four pet chickens. All hens. I name them Chickers, Poosey (poops a lot), chickies ( skiddish) and Mozart ( talks to me a lot, mimics my sounds I make to her)

Roosters are amazing pets. We had one, the same breed. He would sing to our cats and he lived in my house with us. When we moved to the city we rehomed him with our cousin's neighbor. He did play dates with the rooster and couldn't believe how sweet he was. Someone stole all his roosters and he still talks about the amazing rooster he used to have and how much he misses him.

What a cute story! Chickens are so common most people don’t think much of them, especially roosters but if you look at his color scheme, which is typical coloration and see all the color transitions and sheen. They have to be one of the most spectacularly colored birds hands down. They’re just so common that its vibrancy is usually overlooked.
Yes there are mode exotic colorations in birds of lesser known species but I think his coloration is stunning!
Chooks are the best. I have four girls. I spoil them and they give me eggs every day. Little darlings. I love my hens .

My mother worked at a chicken plant in one day when she came home from work we were in the kitchen I was doing dishes I looked out the window and outcome of chicken from underneath the car so the chicken went through two towns and made it back to home with us and we called her Rosie and she was a very sweet girl and that's how we ended up with the chicken
