Melinda almost single-handedly turned an abysmal season 6 into must-see-TV. I have been watching this show since season 2 and have never seen another contestant deliver such consistently strong performances from week to week.
Wow, I remember when I saw this for the first time. She was the only reason I was at all invested in that season, and after she delivered this performance the rest of the night looked like amateur hour by comparison.
Melinda Doolittle and Fantasia were the most exciting performers on A.I.. Melinda has it all...tremendous performance ability, great voice and professional style. She is absolutely the very best. Absolute perfection .......EVERY TIME.
I will never understand why this woman isn't selling out venues like crazy! She is an AMAZING talent, on par with some of the greatest singers we have had in this generation, yet you never hear from her. I would definitely put her up against Jennifer Hudson.

There has never before been a singer on American Idol that I like as much as I do Melinda. What a talented, humble, wonderful person. I really wanted her to win - AND SHE SHOULD HAVE.
Wow. Each song I hear from these videos is epic. Reminds me of when Luther was finally no longer just a background singer. Just needed a chance to show her stuff. This woman is so natural, beautiful, talented and a good person within. She deserves her success. Even if she didn't have the fame and fortune, you can never take that kind of talent and humble personality. She`s got it all.
Melinda (if you ever read this): You are so amazing that you made me cry! I am blown away by your talent, your stage presence (you clearly have confidence in this performance), and your genuine personality. You won the competition for me.... a million times over. Best AI contestant ever. Period.
Buy her new CD!!! I listen to all kinds of music and i can honestly say after buying it yesterday, it is one of the best peices of music I have ever purchased. Soooo damn GOOD! Mark my word... she's going to become really famous.
When she performed this A.F. song i was blown away by her powerful vocals she was my favorite every week she was still in the compitition. i voted for her every time she sang.she was the best i believe!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't care what anybody says, none of these latest shows ie Xfactor etc are capable of matching the magic of the earlier AI shows...you know when all the real singers graced the stage.
Anyone who has brains and listens to Melinda should obviously be able tell that she can easily rival Whitney from the 80s/90s. Every performance she gave was completely in tune, perfect tone, and tremendous phrasing.
