I have been considering one, and this sold me. Thanks for the review. I have an outdoor lifestyle and love Audi's design and have purchased their cars since 1996. We got an S5 last year and I knew I had to have another S-model in the family. Thanks for the enthusiastic post.
Good review, love how you gave time for us to hear the exhaust notes through the curves, one note, you said iPod 5, I'm guessing you meant iPhone 5, and you said thunderbolt cable and I'm guessing you meant lightning cable( not important, just FYI)
Well, I'm true to my word - I bought it last Thursday night! Mine looks similar to your model - Monsoon Gray, with the 21" rims and 255/40 tires. Thanks again for the inspiration! I'm loving this vehicle.
I am driving an SQ5 now and have to say it is a great car. I do miss the sound of the exhaust from my TTS, but overall like the space, the carbon fiber inlays and the performance. Wish it was hybrid, though, with all the new hybrid technology available.
Also, for those in cold climates, with lots of snow and/or ice, the 21" wheels with low profile performance tires, do NOT work. You will need to add a set of Winter or All-Season tires. They will be smaller 17" or 18" and will need to fit over the large front brakes =)
I love cars, especially ones like this. Being in europe though, I would consider the TDI SQ5. I do feel that in the looks and interior department the folks wagon elites are lagging behind competitors. This is why I have often prefered the Porsche Cayenne which has similar diesel engines to a VW, but a whole different package in terms of equipment and luxury comforts. I will wait for the next generation model, and hope it has improved in this department.
I love sleepers like this. Blow thru a radar trap with a few other cars at 85,.. and you're good,.. as long as one of them is a loud attention magnet, hopefully in red, with a "leader of the pack" type at the wheel. Makes my life MUCH easier.
You do know that the iPod plug is changeable don't you? I know what you mean though when Vag group is mainly touch audio in the VW why do the Audi's persists with the old units. Defiantly time to update that.
I'm all but certain this car has bluetooth capabilties that will stream your media to the entertainment system. I see the glove box ipod connection as a bonus to an otherwise stellar system.
Did you see his last seconds of footage when he hugged the shoulder around a blind turn? Unless you'd like to destroy your drive-train on large rock/boulder, hugging shoulders on mountain roads is not advised.
Cool review, but doesn't your phone have Bluetooth? No need for any cables at all with my phone which has almost 100GB of music on it...plus, the SQ5 has two SD card slots.
Very nice review. I absolutely love the exhaust note, The stretch of high-speed driving was awesome. Beautiful scenes all around.
Shifts really quick and the exhaust note is amazing
Great video and oh man those bonus scenes. Beautiful scenery

such a great review, really dont understand all the thumbs down
Those are people who haven't driven this car ;-)
Good review. I think the SQ5 is a great car. The only drawbacks are the charging cable(as he mentioned in the video) and the dashboard is too 2D.
Agent 001, Please tell us what driving roads this segment was filmed on. Beautiful area and scenery. Audi is awesome!
This car has bluethood conectivity for your ipod or cellphone. The ipod cable is just for old ipods.
What route were you on in Colorado? Amazing scenery!

You guys have the best prices on cars... prices are 20% or more in other countries... SQ5 tops $80-100k in Australia.

I've driven over 90 on the freeway to work and had CHP sit there and observe. :-) "Oh, it's an SUV, no big deal". Yeah right. Wink, wink.
Is it the TDI version?

Is that monsoon grey?
Audi fan boyyyy Yes!

Love it just can't pay 61000 for this type of car would rather have a gmc Denali or escalade
well here in austria u have to pay about 80.000 € for this type of car ! So this price 61.000$ ist very cheap for us....
Safety warning friend... don't cross the yellow center line on blind corners...
The sound of TDI version is better, even if the TFSI version has a great sound
what is this color?
Monsoon Gray.
Your dealer should give you a free Thunderbolt cable.
That engine sounds nothing like an sq5 in Europe. So they must be changing something for the US market. Sounds better in the US.
EU version has diesel engine (3.0 TDI, 313hp).
it's normal ----> gasoline engine = nice sound
***** Actually EU version sounds nice as well (especially for a diesel).
There is the option of tunning the engine in Europe to produce 360BHP costs $6000
Does autospies have a financial relationship with Audi? There gushing!!!
I thought the SQ5 had a 3.0 BiTdi, 313 hp....?
It has but in Europe. US version has 3.0 TFSI engine.
Wheels look too big
is it me or is audi getting to generic looking
Very low quality and poorly edited video
One of the most irrelevant cars in the world and overpriced as well.
