Eyepatch camera is, that when threat is placed on the main scheme you can place up to 3 of that threat on your suit instead. So if they scheme for 1, you can only put 1 on your suit, you can't put 3 on it.
I get the part where if they scheme for 1 you can only put 1 because Nick is mitigating the threat. But if they scheme higher than 3, does it work as a replacement effect because of the word “instead”?
Hey, love the content, keep it up! As far as to your question on Eyepatch, we may need an official ruling because I also read it as it would only stop up to 3. So in your example, he schemes for 10, you get to place 3 on your suit and the rest goes to the main scheme. In that sense it doesn't sound great, but considering that most scheming probably averages closer to 3-4, it would still be solid. I think in most cases it will prevent most of the threat and you get resources for your suit.
Thanks Jerry! I agree that most of the eyepatch will be really good and prevent most threat, but I’m hesitant to use it on the higher difficulties if Stealth Suit forced them to scheme for 10 with they often can by getting multiple boost cards that could end the game for me 😂
@@webwarriorfanatic That's fair, I hadn't considered the multiple boost cards which will definitely spike the threat. I also wonder how much threat he can reliably control considering he will be forcing more scheming with his stealth suit. Idk, he still seems like a fun puzzle to get him working!
@@jerry77oz forsure! He looks like a really fun puzzle and i have no clue how it’ll work until actually playing him. How reliable he can control threat i think will determine how strong he is
I read eye patch as stopping only 3 threat, but it'd be cool if I was wrong. Nick looks like he will play drastically different depending on player count. On solo, it looks like he'd need to go to assault form almost immediately for many scenarios and just stay there. Even at 2 player, some of those schemes can be pretty tight. At 3 or 4 player, especially with an Under Surveillance, you can pretty much keep him in stealth suit until another hero needs to flip down. I also think he'll play quite differently based on aspect choice. Against non-Stalwart/Steady villians he can just confuse lock the villian and treat it as a stun. My initial impression is that he's an A tier hero in 3+ players, but he may only be a B or even a C in solo. Of course, we still have more cards to see, maybe there will be some cards that change that opinion.
As another comment, rather than adding on my other thread, I think the way we look at Stealth Mode matters. Compared to Hero mode, sure having a scheme tends to be worse than an attack. But realistically I think it should be compared to Alter-Ego mode, since in both the villain and minions will scheme. I think this will depend heavily on if one of his other cards allows you to switch back to Stealth Mode other than just as an Alter-Ego action or with Concentrated Fire (since that's not reliable) or Covert Surveillance. If the only reliable way is being in Alter-Ego, then you essentially have to let the villain scheme twice in a row, once in AE and once in Stealth. Advantages to being in Alter-Ego instead of Stealth: +1 hand size Recover Any AE supports that you can trigger (we haven't seen any in his kit yet but can assume he probably has one) Advantages to Stealth instead of AE: You can still attack, thwart, and trigger Hero only actions (which a lot of the preparation cards that he likely will want have) Lowers the scheme by 1 - note this is for EACH enemy, which means it completely nullifies every minion with a scheme of 1. This is almost like a mini threat version of Vision's intangible Form that nullifies minion schemes. Even better though, it charges up his attacks instead of just mitigating threat. I can imagine a fun deck where Nick pulls out a bunch of minions intentionally, ignores them all in stealth mode, and then just wipes them all out anyway with Spray Fire and goes nuts with Bring It or other cards that benefit from having/defeating minions. There are gonna be times when one is better to be in than the other, and again I think that it depends on how easy it is ends up being to switch to Stealth, but I think viewing it this way instead of vs hero mode is probably more helpful. If he has any additional upgrades/supports that draw him cards in hero mode then the main upside to going alter ego will be gone. I also think that Eyepatch Camera is crazy good - even though it "only" stops 3 threat instead of all of it like you suggested, just think of it like a 3 thwart event for 2 cost (which is standard with upside for hero cards) that is worth some combination of 3 resources (with your watch) and 3 damage (or way more if you use those counters for Spray Fire). It's only hero mode, so this only works if you are Stealth or pull Advance, and obviously gets buffed with Secret Agent upgrade out, but even it's base of 2 cost for 3 thwart and a delayed 3 damage is pretty good, especially since you can wait until you need to use it.
Fair assessment! I wanted to make a note that he really can’t attack in Stealth form because it switched him to Assault, but other than that i agree overall with this.
@@webwarriorfanatic True, I suppose I meant he can still choose to attack even if it switches him out. Which also means he can still switch back to AE, whereas in AE he needs to change to hero to attack, which he can only do once a turn so he can't switch back if he needs. Good point though.
There are definitely a couple more of his cards to be revealed that I imagine will play pretty strongly into his stealth mode. So far his deck looks like: 1) Suit Form Upgrade 2) ?? - Probably a signature Ally 3) Concentrated Fire 4) Probably Concentrated Fire 2 5) Probably Concentrated Fire 3 6) Covert Surveillance 7) Probably Covert Surveillance 2 8) Spray Fire 9) Probably Spray Fire 2 10) ??? 11) ??? 12) ??? 13) Eyepatch Camera 14) Fury's Watch 15) ??? 16) Secret Agent So we probably have 5 cards left to see, one likely being a signature ally. I'm guessing one will be an Alter ego support that does some combination of healing, shuffling preparation/tech cards back into his deck, drawing cards/etc. Basically every hero gets one of those at this point. It's also possible that this is his #2 card and he doesn't have a signature ally. He's likely to get a gun tech upgrade that either does damage (maybe equal to the number of threat on the suit kinda like Bishops Rifle?) or confuses or something like that. Then I'm guessing his last 2 are preparations. To have a whole upgrade (Secret Agent) based around resolving upgrades, to only have 1 in his deck would be pretty strange. Most heroes with something like this have multiple ways to trigger it within their kit and aren't fully reliant on aspect/basic cards to make them work. One might be a second copy of Eyepatch Camera, but that'd be strange since the one we saw was card 13 and 14 got revealed, but I suppose it could be card 12. I agree that there doesn't seem to be much reason to do stealth right now, but I'm guessing the last few cards will make that much more viable. It's also interesting that he can only go stealth in alter ego currently and can only go assault when he attacks, so he's not very flexible in how he can flip, kinda more like Spectrum than some other form-flipping heroes we've seen more recently.
Love this breakdown. Thanks for that! I’m shocked and disappointed that it looks likely he’ll only have 2 of that thwart event. That’s his current most reliable way to flip to stealth form. Like you said, he’ll need something to flip him to stealth because most of his threat prevention materials are hero interrupts/responses, so it would be tough for him to flip down to access the Suit Form flip ability. You’re right that he has many more cards so I’m hopeful he’ll have more tools to round out his kit
@webwarriorfanatic It's possible he has 3 copies of the thwart event instead of a 3rd copy of Concentrated Fire, but usually they show the first copy of each event in the previews. We won't know but I'm guessing that's the case. I'd be shocked if his remaining upgrades don't provide huge context. There are a ton of heroes that without 1 or 2 cards just don't work well - Colossus without Iron Will, Ghost Spider without Web-Bracelets, Adam Warlock without Mystic Senses. Even Bishops Energy Conversion wasn't announced during his reveal and a lot of people were disappointed in his announcement, then he instantly became a fan favorite because that card holds his whole deck together so well and we just couldn't see it until he was actually released. Maybe I'm just too optimistic lol but yeah I have a lot of hope for Nick
@webwarriorfanatic EDIT to my previous comment: It looks like as recently as the Jubilee reveal, they showed that card #8 was the card Firecracker, which ended up being cards 6,7, and 8 in her actual deck. So it's definitely possible that card #5 for Nick is a third copy of Covert Surveillance. This inspired me to go back and look at all the heroes, specifically at their events. 16 out of the 55 (~17%) heroes have 3 or more thwart events (or events that remove threat even if they aren't technically thwarts). Out of the 35 heroes with at least 2 "Big attacks", defined as either 3+ damage to multiple enemies or 6+ damage in a single attack, only Hawkeye, Gambit, Groot, and Colossus also have more than 2 "small attacks", defined as attacks that do 5 or less damage to a single target. Iron Man, Gamora, and Angel have flexible/conditional events that kinda fit the description as well, so we'll just say 7/35, which is 1 in 5. It seems like the best comparisons will be to either Iceman or Gambit, depending on that card #5. Iceman has his 2 Arctic Attacks (4 damage plus a bonus), 3 Chill Outs (3 thwart plus a bonus), and 2 Ice Blasts (3 damage to multiple enemies). Gambit (who very similarly to Nick has the ability to use counters to boost damage) has 3 Charged Cards (4 base damage plus bonus), 2 Creole Charmers (3 thwart), and 2 Royal Flush (Essentially 9 damage split across 1-3 enemies with the boost). I think it will all depend on what the last couple preparation cards are, but I'd be totally shocked if they don't make his Stealth mode critical to his functioning.
@@justinvamp15 yea i agree with your original assessment that there would only be 2 thwart events since the revealed card is usually the first in the order, but like you said there will most likely be critical cards that will make stealth mode much more smooth
I'm pretty sure they mentioned that the eyepatch was the only preparation inhis deck, maybe he has a few copies of it but we might have to wait for other heroes (hoping winter soldier) with more preparations
Ok, in my humble opinion his stats are actually really good, I think the suit is tricky but actually very powerful, there are a few times were I want to flip to alter ego but I don't want the threat to scale too much, so he could avoid some damage and some threat at the same time, the problem is that he would need one of his events, but I think it's doable, I'm actually trying to look at all his benefits but it is designed in such a way were everything I find is balanced by another thing, for example, I thought of get behind me since you can play it in stealth form, but not in alter ego, but the extra attack turns into threat and unless you can spare some of it, it might not be worth it, he is basically in alter ego for but with 1 less card and no rec, where I think this shines is when you have a few of those high attack/low scheme minions, bc you can build up your threat faster, and is way better than fliping to alter ego, and if the eyepatch works like you think it does, it might be even better, I will still wait for an answer bc there have been errors in the past, like Hawkeye's quiver, where the card meant one thing, but litterally did an extra effect that was not meant to be, search was redefined, without having to release an errata for the card, the same might happen here
True, i think it’s hard to know how strong he’ll be until we actually play him. Some heroes we can already tell but Nick is so different and unique we can’t really compare him to another hero (who has a second form where the villain schemes in)
Hyped 🎉 I hope he will have some more cards for Black Widow. Nick looks fun…hope the two heroes don’t come with to much power creep for MC. Maria with the carriers looks very strong. Thanks for presenting the new stuff 👍

So far his deck looks like:
1) Suit Form Upgrade
2) ?? - Probably a signature Ally
3) Concentrated Fire
4) Probably Concentrated Fire 2
5) Probably Concentrated Fire 3
6) Covert Surveillance
7) Probably Covert Surveillance 2
8) Spray Fire
9) Probably Spray Fire 2
10) ???
11) ???
12) ???
13) Eyepatch Camera
14) Fury's Watch
15) ???
16) Secret Agent
So we probably have 5 cards left to see, one likely being a signature ally.
These 2 heroes look great. Easy buy when this releases
Yess this will be a great expansion. The campaign mystery looks extremely fun too. Im very excited
Hey thank for the preview, let me know when you are up for a live stream
You’re welcome! Can you send me an email?
Some heroes we can already tell but Nick is so different and unique we can’t really compare him to another hero (who has a second form where the villain schemes in)
I wonder: does the Super Spies team up card work with Maria and Nick Sr?
I don’t think it does because the “Sr” changes the title of the card. I’m not 100% sure of that though and definitely hope I’m wrong lol
Hyped 🎉 I hope he will have some more cards for Black Widow. Nick looks fun…hope the two heroes don’t come with to much power creep for MC. Maria with the carriers looks very strong. Thanks for presenting the new stuff 👍
Thanks for watching, jehoba 😁🙏
It looks like Nick will have great preps for Justice Black Widow. I agree he looks fun and fortunately (for us) i think he looks not very powerful as well. Maria Hill like you said looks very strong so I’m hoping actually playing her that the cost of the carriers offsets how good they are 🤞🏻🤞🏻
SuperDuper
Lol i don’t even remember saying that in this one
