      Notch would shed a tear while smiling and chuckling because he sees how beautiful it is.

      @tohoYomo 9 месяцев назад +3

      @@spicylemon2623 you ever wonder why something as simple as LOD didn't exist back then when 1.8 released?
      BECAUSE ITS HAARDDD
      you have NO clue how hard LOD is in a game like minecraft.
      for it to be effective and performant, you'd need to change how chunk loading works to make it better than loading 600 chunks at once.
      the only reason LOD exists outside of the box is because the game engine itself supports it. minecraft does not support LOD, so it's way harder for modders to add it in.

I usually use bobby with as much render distance as my machine can handle. That looks great at ground level for regular game play . Honestly just shut up. Do you work at mojang?? Have you ever made a game that's sold over a million copies? They aren't going to add this because the game simply doesn't need it. They're better off adding something that everyone can enjoy without cashing out on more expensive hardware.

      @@fldom4610 well without shaders (I don't think that Microsoft will ever implement shaders as its not very minecrafty) The performance of DH is pretty impressive plus you can combine modpacks like fabulously optimized for better performance without effecting DH. The real reason minecraft is such a poorly optimized game is because its running on openGL lighting engine which came out in 1992 and is written in java script which is not made for video games in the slightest, and bedrock is a good example of a good render engine (DX12) but very poor game optimization. minecraft is one of the few games that renders objects far away at full detail for no reason at all, making framerate awful even on DX12 at higher render distances. if Microsoft did what DH is doing (with 50x as many people) it would be a very well optimized game, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

      @@m3zmr Why not? Mojang constantly takes good mods and integrates them into the game, or at the very least rips off the ideas of mods and integrates them all the time.
      Why would a better lag-free render distance bump be a bad update for them to add?

      No, then it wouldn't be open-source. Part of the reason distant horizons has been developed so quickly is because of the volunteers working on it.

    I want something like distant horizons to be implemented into vanilla minecraft. To this day I do not understand how Mojang hasnt thought of implementing a system that would allow players to see further without a significant amount of lag. in a game where building is the main goal, anybody would want to be able to see their creations from further away

    I understand hindsight is 20/20 but I remember years ago asking online why Mojang couldn't make a system that has blocks be lower quality the further away from you they are so you can see things much further. I was bombared with a bunch of comments calling me "retarded" stupid and braindead and while I was told such a thing was impossible. I'm still annoyed about that.
