This is a series called Minecraft VVSauce where I explore random features of Minecraft. Not Secret Minecraft things or Minecraft lore (like Game Theory) or Escape Rooms, actually, it is escape rooms! This is the hardest minecraft escape room.

I like the fact that he allowed himself to use the april fools update, but forgot that he can literally turn into a bee and fly away.
Yeah, april fools update was totally cheating. And apparently reloading the snowgolems pumpkin was too. But somehow reloading a room to until he got enough luck was cheating. And having normal game settings like randomtickspeed is cheating?

@@alexanderfriberg8836 I assumed he was in peaceful mode - you regenerate pretty quickly with a hunger bar that never depletes given a bit of space between damage ticks. But honestly escape rooms in general are a bit arbitrary when it comes to the rules because the objective is just to get out, and only creative mode and cheats are consistently banned. And given that ChatGPT pulls info from literally any and every version in minecraft without checking to see if the solution is doable in the most current version (if it even has a solution), I'd say switching versions to beat it is fair game.
You can't just turn into a bee on demand. You need to either vote in "fish everything" and have and actual fishing rod and water source to fish a potion for a flying mob, or you need an empty glass bottle, the mob you want to change into, and vote in the ability to make void bottles so that you can essentially suck the essence of the mob in question into the bottle. But he also could've thrown everything he was given away, vote in "move like a morrowind powergamer" and just jumped out.... and could've done that on all of these, so apparently he really was trying not to make things too simple.
He litterally stood in tnt and ignited it, that would be an insta kill and he didn't take damage. And I get that the rules for escaperooms varies but in a single video they should not change, it's dumb that he can just choose to change the rules to complete it.

Actually every room is beatable because there is a glitch involving the offhand that allows you to climb a wall with only one block.

it did specifically demand that you 'pillar up 18 blocks high' though, which cannot be met by either the glitch or the provided solution

For the last escape room, he could've just used the one block at a time update again and held a chicken. When holding a chicken in one block at a time update you have infinite double jump (basically flying). I'm very surprised he didn't find this out, as he used the update in a previous room.

I'm pretty sure the cactus glitch that launches you in the air works with any block, so every single level is beatable with that solution too.
He probably just chose to ignore that solution in order to make the end of the video more interesting...

@@Dyanafog technically here 'impossible' would mean 'with a different solution than intended' since he had to switch versions, read the entire MC wiki, even discover glitches by himself, etc.

Yeah, a couple of these seem to be skewed to make for a more dramatic video. The snowman one in particular didn’t make sense, because there was no reason not to reset for optimal drops. Playing at 0 tick speed was also pretty silly, as it was an arbitrary rule to stop the cactus trick from working. The excuse for it was also poorly crafted, as he said that “the AI didn’t intend for it to be cheesed,” but the vast majority of these were done outside of the intended way.
The breaking point for me though was the clay trick. Wifies in an earlier room used the April Fool’s snapshot to escape, and in said snapshot, you can fly infinitely with chickens. In the final room, you get chicken spawn eggs. Simple! Switch to April Fool’s, and fly out with the chicken. But nah, let’s showcase an obscure mechanic that used to be in the game instead!
While this is approaching “conspiracy territory” now, I find it interesting that on this one in particular, he received the _exact_ amount of a _specific_ block to show off this quirk, and this is the only time where he asked for a modified list. While it was said in the video that it was changed to not include a water bucket, which I do believe, but the first draft could have been specified to include 20 clay blocks in it so this mechanic can be displayed. I have no proof of this, so take it with a grain of salt if you wish.
Nothing wrong with the video itself, but if you look at it from a certain angle, some things don’t add up.
Yeah, the problem with AI is that it explodes the second you ask it anything about video games. The thing about games is that they are usually getting updates, but programs like ChatGPT dont know that, these programs will just take a bunch of information about minecraft, from every single snapshot and update, and assume that all those features from all those versions exist and have always existed in the current game.
ChatGPT will be like "oh okay so there was this random obscure april fools update where you could pick up chickens and fly with them, and then there was this other update where you could spawn an ender dragon with clay, so lets just add both of those features into the escape room because they must still be in the current state of the game"

This is true, but only a small part of the issue. The main problem is that ChatGPT doesn’t actually know anything about Minecraft, it just knows what kinds of things people say about Minecraft. So it knows people talk about getting snow from snow golems, and that people talk about making snow golems from snow, so that’s a solution as far as ChatGPT is concerned. It knows you can use a shovel to dig dirt, so that’s a solution as far as it’s concerned.
Making AI properly consider context is extremely difficult, because increasing the “memory” of an AI by just a little bit increases the amount of data you need to train it exponentially.
It's worse than that. As seen in the first one, it just makes up new capabilities and ignores core restrictions. "Grow wheat"... on what? You need farmland and water to grow wheat. You can't grow it on bedrock in ANY version.

I'm pretty sure that for the 6th level (the snow level), also should be able to be beaten with the one block at a time April fools version by picking up the snow layers. The final level should also be able to be beaten by using the one block at a time update again and grabbing and using the chickens to fly.
final one I agree but on snow layers when I was trying to place snow in one block at a time it for some reason stacked on the same block

@@Wifies I might be wrong but, there's virtually infinite snow layers for you to use from the snow golems, and then even if they stack on the same block, it eventually would form a full block, which you can keep stacking to get out. Idk tho...

7:44 just put 6 of your dirt blocks one block above the ground level and spawn the snow golem on top of one of the six dirt blocks, so the snow layers will be Spawned on top of the dirt Then break the dirt blocks under the snow layers so the snow layers will drop snowballs but don’t break the dirt blocks that are under the snow golem, then rebuild the dirt platform then break them again to collect the snowballs Then repeat the process until you have enough snowballs to craft enough snow blocks to pillar yourself to the exit of the escape room.
For the final escape room, just use two ladders. Sneak on the higher ladder to stop yourself from climbing back down, then break the lower ladder and place it above the ladder you're sneaking on. Repeat until you escape.
But even with the dragon method you used, you didn't even need to get launched all the way up, just high enough to where you could land on a ladder and bridge around to the exit.
Edit:Apparently the OBAAT snapshot is an option for this as well, but my solution is, in my opinion, far simpler.

Yeah, level design is a complex topic that's probably too abstract for current large language models to do anything interesting with. Honestly, making an impossible level is easier than making an easy level, because you have to actually include a win condition for an easy level. The most challenging thing in level design is making a satisfying challenge. I think that's a huge factor in why Dark Souls is so celebrated.

So uh. Given you were willing to go to the Vote Update and force specific outcomes using commands as a way to simulate waiting eternally for the perfect vote:
There is just a vote that gives players an arbitrary number of an arbitrary item, which can just... Solve every room by giving at least enough blocks to pillar. There's also one that gives an arbitrary potion effect infinitely, so Levitation out is an option. And I haven't checked this one but three levels of Big Moon might be enough to lift players at midnight.
So the score is 10-0 because the Vote Update is literally just an April Fool's Day joke that can through deep time shenanigans (or cheating specific results) can do basically anything.

This video is so good. My reaction is just wow, wow, wow. The work and effort put into this video is absolutely insane. I respect the hustle trying to do everything possible in the history of minecraft to achieve the different escapes. And well this video just showed me what @Wifies has to offer and so Im going to subscribe in order to show my appreciation of giving me 22 more enjoyable minutes of my live!
*Doing Kenadian’s homework*
0:47 the wool is all you need. There is a glitch, which I learned directly from Master Kenadian himself, where if you place a block at the same time as putting it in your off-hand, it places for a single frame, but stays in your inventory. With perfect timing, (which Wifies has because he’s awesome) you can jump on the block and scale up infinitely.
You can also use this glitch in any of the other escape rooms to win, but especially in the 5th escape room at 6:15 with just one of the quartz blocks, as it is the most optimal solution to that room. Pro tip: when performing this glitch, it would be helpful to load up the world on a server, as the glitch works much better in multiplayer.
12:23 reloading up the world until you get perfect luck *is* the solution. Wifies said it himself at 1:44 that he had to do *anything* to win. That *everything* in survival vanilla Minecraft is fair game, as long as he only used the items that were given.

He even admits that (for the final room) ChatGTP just offered him a bucket of water (as one of the items), and he asked the AI to reroll that last item, so it could actually be a challenge.
Think he thought of ChatGTP's poor understanding of the games intimacy as part of the challenge.
Creativity is afterall often at its strongest when proposed with a challenging problem to work around.
You could have just crafted the Sand into 2 Sandstone then swapped versions to One Block at a Time. It's weird but you can break/pickup any block with your hands so long as you can break it, even if you cant harvest it.
Yeah, he could have saved himself a lot of headache by just crafting two sandstone and towering up with them.
@@jazzyjswiftYou’re missing the point. He doesn’t want the easiest way to get out of these escape rooms, he wants views and watch time. It gives him more ad money. Also everything is scripted, including all escape rooms. Behind the scenes Wifies probably generated over 50 challenges and picked out a few impossible ones to increase viewer retention. That’s why the first ones were losses. To get your attention and keep it.. Then room 6 and above was literally only a few minutes long because it’s all scripted victories with nothing interesting.

For those interested in the probability of Snow Golem farming to generate 6 snow blocks for the escape, I've done some simulations and calculations:
- Success Probability of Reaching 48 Snowballs in an Attempt:
Through the simulation, which involved building (costs 8 snowballs) and defeating Snow Golems (yielding 0 to 15 snowballs, each with the same probability), the likelihood of reaching 48 snowballs in one complete attempt was found to be approximately 2.6%.
- About the Simulation:
To calculate this, I ran 1,000,000 simulated attempts, each consisting of a series of actions (building and defeating Snow Golems) until the target of 48 snowballs was achieved or snowballs were depleted (less than the required 8) Every attempt started with 8 snowballs.
- Average Number of Attempts Needed: With a 2.6% chance of success per attempt, it takes about 40 attempts on average to successfully hit or exceed the 48 snowball target at least once.
- Average Actions Per Attempt: An attempt is made up of several actions, averaging about 5.4 actions per attempt before reaching the 48 snowball goal or running out of snowballs. One action is building and killing a snow golem.
In summary, to gather 48 snowballs for crafting, you'll likely need to go through around 40 attempts, with each attempt including an average of 5 to 6 actions. This insight is based on simulation data, giving you a realistic expectation on this escape approach.

I almost feel like the score should have been reversed. Anyone can give you 10 random items and tell you to pillar 30 blocks, but it takes true creativity and ingenuity to make a challenging escape room. The AI should lose for each impossible room, and win for each possible one.
If you can use a server for the cactus puzzle, surely you can use a server to switch between versions for the snow golem one without having land generate and override the room?
Switching server versions would also regenerate the chunks.

Chat gpt isn't a good AI program to come up with ideas. It only uses phrases that would most likely fit the question that you asked. It doesn't actually make up ideas and it sure doesn't try to simulate any concepts or match each part of the idea so it becomes true. It just seas whats the next most likely word it should use to finish a phrase. Or so a particular explanation video on RUclips explains it. We aren't in a world where AI is atonomis yet

I'm pretty sure for the escape room with the snow gems, you could have escaped by using the vote update, and waiting for the on that gives proper hotboxes, allowing you to stand on top of mobs and other players. Using this, you could have stacked 2 snow golems on top of each other, then pillaring up with the rest of your blocks on top of the snow golems and make it to the exit.
Also, you need to shear each golem for the pumpkins, or else you'd be 2 blocks short

I know that he could of probably beatten the snow golem one and the chicken one with one block at a time but honestly for content sake, only using that update once was a good decision made by wifies (and probably a conscious one)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the one block at a time update work for pillaring up with any 2 non gravity blocks? Just place 2, break the bottom one, place it, break the bottom one, repeat.

i actually thought you were trolling with the creeper face thing, but then i remembered that 1.9 was when dragon resummoning was added, and that 1.9 snapshots had a tendency to use placeholders (for example, early end ships had a beacon before the elytra was finished)

For the cactus and sand one where you use one block at a time. Just craft 2 sandstone before the version change and use those to pillar up like powder snow.
For the cactus level you could have made sandstone in a different version, converted to the one block at a time because you can mine anything without a tool and pillar up by building up two blocks and breaking the block underneath and placing it on top and repeat that process
