I can't even explain how happy I am to have found someone who is as passionate about Porky as I am! I subscribed the instant the pigmask in your other video told me to. XD I'm so glad I found this channel, and I really hope it works out for you!!
I remember all the Smash speculation in 2019. Being the Year of the Pig, we all thought King P would finally be added to the game. Oh well, maybe in 2031 I guess...
Porky has a lot of merit as a potential Smash Character. I imagine they would use his EarthBound desgin and proportions, and use a lot of his Subspace attacks as Normals. They can take some creative liberties with his moves since some attacks in Mother 3 are conveyed as odd or indescribable. One idea that sticks with me is having a Special or grab where he gets out of the mech and strangles the opponent. If he triggers a Special Zoom (the slow-mo effect) the background shows Gyigas to represent the evil intent behind his actions. Hopefully he makes an actual apperance cause his ommision did feel strange.
You bring a lot of good points and I’m surprised Porky isn’t even in ultimate technically. I mean a lot of villains from brawl did come back in ultimate (Petey is part of the piranha plant, the legendary space pirate Ridley is a fighter, rayquaza is a hazard technically in one of the Pokémon stages). I think it would be cool to see Porky in a future installment. Also rip Mother 3 again for still being stuck in Japan-
Thanks for bringing up Phosphora as the potential new Kid Icarus rep. I'd love Medusa or Magnus or Hades, but Phosphora was my main priority when I noticed the pattern of female Assist Trophies from Sm4sh getting the promotion to playable in Ultimate. Also she's just so much fun as a character.
I remember desperately wanting Porky to be playable in Ultimate in 2018-2019. It still shocks me how long it’s been, and how I just sort of forgot how passionate I was about it. Seeing someone just as passionate now as I was then is nice, and I’m still in full support of another villain in smash. Here’s to your dream.
I've always thought the start of the banjo trailer was weirs. They really should have just started with DK yawning. Adding a new rival image to it was just bizarre and pretty misleading imo. So many reactions to the reveal start with someone saying "a new villain?"
I remember campaigning HARD for Porky to be in Smash back in the day, all of the evidence really made me think he was gonna arrive at some point. Alas, shattered hopes... That being said, in the case of a future smash game, I think that even if we have to cut Lucas, Porky definitely deserves a shot, even if he's back as a boss like in Brawl! Regardless of his return, I'm glad to hear another RUclipsr on the side of the King of New Pork himself! 🐽
Honestly, I think this is the result of a problem with the roster of ultimate: A lack of representation for villains. While I am grateful for the fact that villains such as King K. Rool and Ridley got added, I still feel potential for more antagonists to be added to the roster. One villain that I would've liked to see was Yellow Devil from Megaman. (I know that it's unsurprising coming from me, but I believe that there is moveset potential with a character like him.)
Haven't heard that Ness was planned to be cut from Brawl, I know Jigglypuff was at one point, and that Ness was going to be replaced by Lucas in Melee, but after EB64 went down the drain they kept Ness. Also I was convinced we were going to get Ninten and/or Porky to finish off the protag trio, and/or have the "main villain" of the series, at least in the 2 games already represented.
I think the only way we'll get Ninten is if the next Smash game overhauls all the OG characters. If they rework Ness, giving Ninten Ness' old moves (with the addition of PK Beam) would be really cool
I 100% agree with the 1st Party vs 3rd Party discrepancy. I personally want King Bob-Omb in smash (Probably not surprising given my profile pic), but I know he'll probably never make it, because there's just so many 3rd Party characters (and some admittedly more-deserving 1st Party characters) that are more relevant. One thing I love about Smash Bros is the characters like Piranha Plant, Game & Watch, and Duck Hunt that have weird movesets, and in general are weird inclusions. Now though, people look at characters like Piranha Plant as bad inclusions who deserve to be scrapped from the next game, and I entirely believe that it's because of the 3rd party characters. I'm not saying I hate 3rd Parties in smash, far from it. I'd love to have characters like Dig Dug, Bomberman, Phoenix Wright, Rayman, Etc., but I feel like there's an imbalance of 1st Parties.
I mean we could use more villains in Ultimate, or more Mother representation in general. But seeing how the Mother franchise sold poorly in comparison to, say, Mario, Zelda or Pokemon, I don’t see Porky being made playable anytime soon. Still, he would be a cool addition to Smash.
7:18 Actually, thats False. Lucas was intended to replace Ness in MELEE. But Ness was brought back after Mother 3 was cancelled in the summer of 2000. When Brawl rolled around. They just decided to include both characters. There was no, Lucas would replace Ness but Mother 3 is japan only thing. According to Reggie, the decision ti not localize mother 3 was made BEFORE he joined nintendo in 2003. Meaning making M3 japan only had to bw a decision made early on in the gba versions development. So bringing Ness back in brawl for that reason wouldnt make sense.
I see! Looking it up, you're definitely right. I guess it's a common misconception, as I learned that from other people. Thank you for the clarification!
Here's a compromise perhaps instead of having him smaller like Ridley was you can have a mode where you can control him as a boss character. Master hand was controllable in world of light why not make every other boss character controllable. I never really liked Ridley downsized like he was. So why not do that?
Playable boss mode would go so hard, but I think offering both would be for the best. Millions of people wanted Ridley, so changing him to a boss-fight only character would be pretty sad.
@@batdogduke offering both? meaning him as a controllable boss and a smaller controllable character? I think its best to have a boss you can fight as and control. for all bosses I mean I want to play as Tabuu.
Since we're talking about "wanted characters", y'all wanna hear my absolute crackpot want for a character? Monokuma, from Danganronpa. Now, hear me out: it's a visual novel, which has not been featured in Smash ever. He has a bunch of different looks (think Monophanie, the monokubs, etc) for alt skins. He could be the 2nd ever completely 2d character after G&W. He has a bunch of "powers" and inventions for a moveset (up special is Blast Off, side special in Monozooka, down smash is Spears of Gungnir, etc). His FS writes itself: and execution. There are a bunch of tracks from DR that would be awesome to have remixed and fit fighting scenarios. If spirits remain a thing you have all the students and robots throughout the series. And the games had re-releases and a spin off on the Switch. It's such a weird nonsense pick that I think it'd be absolutely perfect.
The problem with this character is that he isn't lame enough to be a newcomer in Smash. That's why they added Pyra/Mythra instead of Dark Matter from the Kirby series. For my own safety: this is a joke. Except I meant it when I said Pyra/Mythra are lame, that part is not a joke.
Trust me, Pyra and Mythra get significantly less "lame" when you play as them. I wouldn't call any Smash fighter "lame", but if you want to know someone who REALLY felt like a waste, look no further than Minecraft.
I mean, Xenoblade Chronicles is an actually ongoing series that’s now more successful than EarthBound, which ended in 2006 because Itoi never felt the need to make more Mother games after 3, so it’s not like I’m that surprised EarthBound hasn’t gotten any more characters when compared to… most other Nintendo series, including the “weeb” ones
I’m so salty over this because Porky has such banger battle themes but none of them have smash remixes yet…

KING BOB-OMB AND DIG DUG ENJOYER DETECTED

I'd argue Yoshi of the original 8 is also missing his villain, Kamek. Both him and Porky are deserved additions imo
Also egg man and shadow
Porky Porky will never die Porky Porky Porky Porky Porky Porky Porky Porky Porky come back come back come back come back come back come back

This isn't Eggman
Why not both? Eggman and Porky would make for an AMAZING duo reveal
