First impression thoughts, and loadout recommendation (if you wanna try bug solo):
Loadout recommended:
- Stratagem for Bile titans (500kg > orbital laser > rail cannon strike)
- Support Weapon for clearing swarms and chargers (Arc thrower > Flamethrower > Machinegun > Stalwart)
- Defensive Backpack (shield generator > jump pack)
- Hybrid Stratagem, for swarms, chargers, and even bile titans (Eagle airstrike > orbital laser > barrages)
- Eruptor Primary
- Redeemer Pistol (to handle hunters and little guys)
- Impact grenade (to help with clearing swarms and bile spewers)
Light armor set for kiting
First impressions vs Bugs:
Like someone said on my update video, this weapon is kinda like a mini autocannon. Its potential is fairly similar, just in the shape of a primary rather than a support weapon, but not quite as powerful.
For solo;
Very weak for solo play, not enough fire rate, ammo, or even explosive radius to assist with those swarms. And using it as a heavy armored clearing tool isnt ideal as it cant penetrate heavy armor.
Bottom of the barrel pick for solo.
D Tier
For grouped;
It'll be more of a "fun" weapon to use rather than an effective one. Its awkward against bugs. There's no enemy types it truly SHINES against.
Weapons with medium armor pen make more sense against automatons as they have many more deadly units with medium armor than the bugs do, the bugs pretty much only have hive guards at medium
So it falls in an awkward spot where its bad against the little guys (hunters specially) and its mediocre against the big guys.
Not to mention, since bugs are melee range, odds are, you'll be killing a whole lot of teammates with this weapon.
Very poor pick for grouped. (Probably)
D+ Tier
Have you tried it against any bile spewer maps yet? Cuz theoretically the explosive damage would be crazy against them and not a hunter heavy map.
This weapon work on bot side pretty good
Solid advice! I'll try these.
The design intent of "handle heavy armor with your primary slot, and use your support slot to clear hordes" is interesting because it would let the MG and such weapons see play in solos. But the penetration on the dominator is too low for that.
BRING A GUARD DOG ROVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the Eruptor is something that really helps to fill the void with stratagems such as MG, Stalwart, Flamethrower and Arcthrower as it allows you to close bug holes, destroy fabricators and deal with some of those chunkier enemies from the range, giving you more freedom in the choices of your other stratagems as well as your nade.
Exactly, I was thinking how well this would mesh with the Stalwart build. The Stalwart is already supposed to replace your primary but it would leave you lacking in the armor pen and exp damage areas, this weapon would cover both of those gaps.
I was thinking something similar, like when I do an arc thrower build, it’s already soooooo good at clearing all the small and mid stuff, or flamethrower too even that I literally almost never pull out my primary the entire game even on helldive other than maybe a stray hunter that snuck around somewhere. So now we can have the support weapons that are main weapons backed up by a primary that’s a big weapon, also the grenade pistol! I always wanted something extra for closing bug holes when I had the arc thrower
What I was thinking too.
But then how you deal with titans and chargers ? you have stratagems sure but if you on cooldown or the bile titan comes at the worse time you have a problem i really want to try that build but my support always a weapon to deal with charger and titans.
@@DaimonTheVampire you already need a secondary that can handle hordes for when you die and lose your “primary” for this setup, so just run EATs for the heavies
I think the idea behind the Eruptor is good. Having a primary that acts like a support weapon so support weapons that are made for clearing swarms can shine. But I don't think the game is properly balanced around that yet.
nah, it's already fitting in well as a sidegrade option. The important part is that this thing is build defining. You need to have a pla for wavecear.
Also, I feel like bug players sometimes forget bots exist. This this is absolutely amazing vs bots.
@@Disappointed_Philosoraptor "Be smart" -Devastator down
"Be efficient" -Hulk down
"Have a plan to kill every bot you meet" Canon turret down
Of course you aim for the weakspots on the last two, but still.
It's not that the game isn't balanced, it's that this is a new idea that is being tested out.
Having what is essentially a pocket autocannon as a primary helps ad-clear supports shine, like many people have already said. I think we can expect more primaries that specialise in heavies from now on. This was just paving the road for the future.
@@AnakinFury these lines play in my head whenever I see a x7 at the bottom of the screen while using the anti material rifle
@@Disappointed_Philosoraptoreruptor is useless against bots. what are you even talking about lol. what are you, some kind of low difficulty only user?
It pairs really well with a guard dog.
Thank you so much for showcasing the new weapons and other warbond stuff mentioned in the previous video. Helps a lot when deciding on purchasing warbonds and such!
the new sniper allows for a lot more build diversity which i love. it allows you to bring stuff like the arch thrower, flame thrower, and even the different MG's while still having the fire power to take down tankier units like devastators. it genuinely makes the add clearing support weapons more viable now that we have a primary that can be used as a mini support weapon and take out bug dens and fabricators with ease on top of everything else it can do.
played with randoms against bugs in lv8 mission, all of us had eruptor. Everything went so smoothly that we had only one death, and even that was because one of them accidentally shot himself
Highly doubt this
@@BrightNeoDark stuff can go extremely smoothly once all 4 divers are locked in with similar mindsets. I use pings and voice commands alot but on rare occasions they become a hindrance because the team is just that good. Everyone just knows what to do next and stuff happens on its own. It's rare sure, but it happens I can assure you that
@@godslayer9000 true, sometimes you just get a good spawn pool and don’t get Gatling devastator spam with a whole team of bubble boys. It just doesn’t hold up to heavy suppression which is going to happen 90% of the time with randoms shooting at everything.
@@BrightNeoDark 4 eruptors is a lot of splash and stagger damage and if they play together and give support fire then it definitely can happen
I was gonna call you an amateur arc thrower until I saw what you did here 13:26
6:25 I was just typing out that you weren't using it optimally, but you just explained it yourself here. Just swap your mindset when it comes to primaries and supports. I totally get that you were trying to stress test the weapon so you were using it as much as possible, but that also means you were mostly using it for something it doesn't excel at.
When you bring the Eruptor, you treat it as a heavy enemy clear which you would normally use a support weapon for. Then you bring a support weapon that specializes in chaff clear like the arc thrower or flame thrower. The Eruptor can 2 shot chargers if you shoot it directly in the leg instead of trying to shoot under and also can 1-2 shot most of the heavy bot units. You still need something dedicated for the bile titans, but that's usually the case for most loadouts anyway.
Also, I know you love the shield backpack, but I really think you're underestimating the ability of the laser guard dog to keep those hunters off of you when combined with something like your arc thrower. I never run the shield because I rarely get hit in the first place. I really urge you to try it out.
eruptoer + guard dog rover + arc thrower/stalwart/hmg + 2 strategems to deal with bile titans and you are a swiss army knife
@@Tioz1988 100% agree and it's super fun. Was flying through solo bugs with eruptor + arc thrower + guard dog + orbital railcannon + 500kg
As an aside, I used to get annoyed a lot by not having enough grenades to close bug holes and/or having to wait for eagles/supplies to cooldown or whatever. Having a primary that can pop holes and clear egg nests in seconds is so so nice
@@brutuszero1382 yeah i always took armor with +2 grenades. now with either the eruptor or the new pistol i will take one with +stims or democracy protects.
Guard dog is so much better for bugs than the shield backpack.
Basically makes any small enemy and most medium enemies irrelevant. You can ignore hordes and use the erupter to focus armored mediums/ chargers. I personally still bring a quasar for easy charger kills and anti-bile, but you can easily switch out the canon for anything you want.
Even when it occasionally murders you, it makes it up by saving you from hunters the entire game.
@@brutuszero1382 try using the grenade pistol to close bug holes
It's a game changer against bile spewers as you can one pop them if shot right + it can close bugholes, so great in combination with stun grenades!
The Eruptor is perfect for missions that spawn nursing/bile spewers
This weapon might actually be goated for solo full clear runs. Nothing can deal with bug holes quite like this.
Only thing is there's just no reason to clear bug holes. They should really make clearing holes/factories INCREASE the reinforcement timer. Sure let the patrols increase as is but let it affect reinforcement.
Xp and fun mostly. I do enjoy full clears solo even if realistically just doing main and side is more efficient
@@leviboleythis and focus the samples more in them instead of random locations
It does actually, the biggest increase in adds is from doing the main objectives though. Its ideal to do sub objectives first then main objectives to avoid the patrol, spawn weight increase up an instant 50% on completion.
Bruh don’t apologize for giving us more content. I’m loving it
This thing is incredible with the guard dog/quasar combo. bring railcannon strike and cluster for help with group clear. Works great in groups but would love to see how it does solo Takibo!
The eruptor is amazing. It’s like a super dominator. Combine with a rover. Let the rover take out little targets. Assist with secondary if needed.
Only use the eruptor on groups of littles, or mediums. It CRUSHES mediums. It’s like a grenade launcher with 60 rounds instead of 20. And, it will close bug holes (I’m assuming that isn’t on purpose).
This slays!
I also run incendiary grenades for the fire damage to kill more littles when a breach happens.
Quasar for heavies. Hot swap and use two at once to eliminate groups of titans.
The new eagle bomb module makes airstrike do a lot more damage to things with heavy armor. That works well.
I also run 120 for lair clearing since they will clear anything less than a 10 hole by itself and you can run to something nearby while it does its job, then come back if needed.
Level 90. I only do full clear and only play difficulty 7,8,9.
You said it. It's a support weapon as a primary so you can use any of the MGs (-heavy) or arc thrower for horde clear.
The entire team could run it and be fine. It's just here so the MGs aren't useless. 4 Eruptors would be great on a team tbh.
Good for bugs more than bots. Blows up bile spewers np, chargers in 2 shots to the mouth if you can land it. Closes spawners but can't get through a hulk faceplate.
Aim above the heads and above any hindering object with the arc thrower. That helps much more. I had much less issues with mis-targeting. Still happening but much less. I would like if the next warbond is like some real heavy weapons breaking heavy armor or having acid weapons.
Stay crunchy.
this is my new favorite primary, never thought i would enjoy it so much
I've consistently one shot brood commanders with the eruptor. You need to hit them in the actual head weak spot (which is the base of the head, essentially where the mouth is).
Been playing with the Eruptor and guard dog to take care of the smallest bugs and I’m really enjoying it. Took a few games to adjust my play style accordingly. Think it’s best to play a more long range support role covering your team from afar. The fact it can one shot bile spewers is just crazy
Autocannon but a primary, loads of ammo, versatile, but doesn't quite have the heavy armor pen of a true AT. Trades off volume of fire for no backpack slot compared to the real thing, not bad.
I can’t wait to get my hands on this! I’m already using the Arc Thrower as a primary for hordes and Redeemer as a backup. The one issue I run into is running out of ways to pop bug holes without resupplies or Eagle re-arms. I was looking forward to the grenade pistol but this also closes that gap nicely.
I've found it performs better against bugs than bots in my experience.
If you shoot the floor or a bug in the middle of a swarm it kills everything around it. I got 22 kills with 2 bullets a few missions ago.
As for Brood Commanders, it one shots them if you shoot them in the back, let them charge and then dodge behind them like you would a Charger and boom, they're dead. Same with Chargers, let them pass you and shoot them in the ass and it one shots them (blows off their ass leaving them to bleed to death) or you can just shoot them twice in the leg and they die instantly. It also one shots Hive Guards if you hit them in the back as well.
However against bots... This thing is not holding up in my experience. One amazing thing it can do is one shot Shield Devastators if you shoot them in their backpack and Rocket Devastators if you shoot them in the rocket pods and it wrecks Striders completely. But aside from that it's not very good against bots. Since the bullets explode on impact it can't hurt Hulks from the front like the AMR can so them along with Tanks and Cannon towers all have to be shot in the back vents which makes it difficult with the slow rate of fire. It also struggles against hordes of Berserkers as well, you can shoot the ground in between all of them to damage all of their legs at once but it takes a few shots to drop the group and with the slow rate of fire it's hard to do with them rushing you along with all the gunfire coming from all angles.
What I've found works for bots is pairing the Eruptor with the Machine Gun and using the Machine Gun to clear normal enemies and Berserkers and then using the Eruptor against Devastators and Hulks/Tanks (if you can get behind them).
The Eruptor is a great gun to bring just for its versatility in other things that it can do, like opening container doors, it can kill fabricators and bug holes which lets you save your nades and strategems for other stuff. It can destroy Illegal Broadcast towers as well as Spores and Shrieker nests from afar. It's also amazing against bug eggs as well so you won't need to take the Grenade Launcher.
Site note but the Thermite grenade is also amazing against Chargers, two of them no matter where you throw them on the Charger will kill it. The first one will make it start to bleed and the second one will cause more bleeding if not just kill it outright.
Luv your content update coverage & other vids... thanks so much!
i solo, usually extreme. current go-to load-out: Breaker Incendiary, p-19 redeemer, quasar cannon & impact grenades. sometimes run: Stalwart, p-4 senator & EAT.
Generally shoot for 83-92% w/300-400 kills... I can't see the Eruptor being a viable option for me in solo play. Occasionally i group up with friends - and can see the Eruptor as a good option if running with 3 or 4 team members.
It lets me bring something other than the autocannon on bot missions finally. One shotting devastators is great. Less effective on hulks though, so not a straight upgrade, which is probably a good thing. For bugs though, just like i don't normally bring the autocannon for them, I wouldn't bring the Eruptor. Maybe if i felt like bringing the Stalwart or some other meme.
It's probably best against spewers for bugs. Like a primary weapon slot alternative to the grenade launcher. I don't think it fits into a jack of all trades solo build, but I think it gives you a good primary slot (with no backpack) alternative to both the grenade launcher and auto cannon.
Congrats on 30k! You def deserve more
Nice! One of my favorite builds is going fully heavy with Stalwart, now I’ll use the eruptor to help me with the fatties! Thank you!
Against Automatons its a wrecking ball. Exactly as you said, only one of us had it on the team and it worked wonderfully. I let my team engage and I took nice firing positions so I could take on their attackers. Like a mid range sniper but with care not to shoot too close to my squadmates. Anything up to devastators were a snack. In fact, hitting a nice cluster of bots sent most flying. I packed it with the Quasar so I had to stay away from close quarters but with a competent team you can just hang back and stalk along, providing punchy fire support.
The scope is sighted properly. Already a win.
this thing is actually a great compliment to the flamethrower since it covers all the jobs that flamethrower cant do, pop explosive weakspots at a distance like crippling bile titans, close bug holes, destroy objs. While flamethrower especially with the 25% dmg up upgrade, can just melt hordes down + chargers in a flash
not to mention the self dmg can let you force reset the shield pack faster than partially dmged shield
Plus only really need 500kg for anti titan, since other teammates may carry quasar or EAT.
Napalm eagle, 500kg eagle, flamer, free slot for hmg or mines if you got a teammate with shield pack
only thing you cant deal with using that build is gonna be shriekers if you so happened to skip the HMG
FYI you can 2 shot chargers in the leg
I heard it’s only during their charging animation. Also heard you can shoot its jaw twice for a kill.
Gonna test it, if this is the case then I might try it with the rail gun, as I use the rail gun as a primary, and against chargers it is very slow to kill cuz you need to fully charge twice and it can save my EAT rockets for BTs, with a supply pack it could be a good option.
Ok tested it and it doesn't 2 shots the charger , tested when it was charging both to the legs and to the jaw , when it was idle etc. it only died after 2 mags.
It could be another case of the PS5 dmg bug
@@Hastur_TKY This is its own bug where the chargers leg is effectively unarmored in some animations.
@@Hastur_TKY ya dunno why people keep saying in the comments in take chargers with 2 shots to the leg i test it now on like 4 chargers in no situation it did something to him and even if it damaged the leg it was just a waste of time.
I ran a full on sniper build with this weapon paired with, sun grenades, the AMR, jet pack and a couple of heavy hitting air stratagems.
The aoe damage is handy for clusters of enemies, explosive shot brilliant against striders and medium armour and sniping factories.
Running this solo was awesome.
I have a very specific niche playstyle and this weapon fills in the gaps left by all other stratagems in my preferred loadouts. I could tell immediately that this would functionally be a support weapon and reverse the support-primary roles which is perfect for me and something I hoped for since I started playing because I really don't enjoy most of the support weapons. Before today, I'd always have one major gap in my capabilities that I had to choose: be lacking options to close bug holes/fabricators or be lacking ways to deal with heavies. This allows me to do everything I need competently without having to use support weapons that I don't like. Also if you hit Brood Commanders dead center of their face it was one-shotting them for me. I also usually use the scope for it, since as you say, the fire rate and mag capacity is so low, you really have to make the most of every shot. Also using the Guard Dog Rover would probably suit the loadout you used more than the shield since I would really help deal with the pouncers.
After running this gun for a few days on 7-9 difficulties I highly recommend to try it with rover, heavy armor and stun grenades. Hunters doesn't feel like a problem at all, doesn't matter if I'm running with a team or solo. Extremely strong if used correctly, can kill a charger with 1-2 well placed shots (even from the front, if you aim at the ground), can finish BT with open back, can one-shot brood commander if you hit the body under the head, one-shots nursing and bile spewers. Overall has an extremely high firepower for a primary weapon. With heavy armor, especially explosion resistant one, you can just shoot in close range if you have no other options, you barely damage yourself, the only problem is knockback
Using a machine gun stratagem like the stalward might be a really good mix, mainly in co-op tho id assume tho the expandable isn’t a bad secondary option to bring
definitely seeing its utility against bugs, especially with its ability to basically shut down bug breaches on its own
I always go for the bases/nests, so running a supply pack, grenade launcher (or the Quasar), pistol grenade launcher, and now the Eruptor gives me a full suite of different stuff with my friends to really make my base killing/ nest busting great.
eruptor works very well for the lonestar scouts in defense positions especially high grounds, when high threat like rocket dev and tanks camp at back, you can easily snipe them away and crowd control with AOE at a distance from the side.
"The Cobra Assault Cannon... state-of-the-art... (drumrolls Super Destroyer hull)... bang bang." - Munitions Officer C. Boddicker
I used this against Automatons today, with an MG-43 as my primary. Worked wonders. Managed to easily pull a level 7 mission with another diver as a duo. Loadout holds up quite well...
You probably would've had a better time with the guard dog laser. I've been using it with the dominator and it does a stellar job at keeping hunters and small ones off you
To me this gun is good but it's more of a long rang take your time gun. I'm more of a scout run in kill get out and keep moving
It's pretty inconsistent in bot missions, it can one shot devastators and berserkers if you hit them in certain spots. For devastators if you shoot them in the shoulder ish area it has a chance to blow their heads off or split them in half. If you hit berserkers in the chest it occasionally gets both their arms and basically clears them. It usually one shots scout walkers, and can't hit tank heat sinks.
Hey @the_takibo! Was wondering how often you are crouching while shooting? It's hard to tell from the footage.
I rarely ever remember to crouch. Just wondering if it is a vital part of increasing accuracy?
I recommend using the laser guard dog rover to help clear out the small things, the primary can take care of large groups of enemies and any enemy thats not a bile titan or charger, and a quazar cannon for the big baddies
then you have 2 stratagems for whatever you want, normally I fill it with eagle clusterbombs and airstrike
thats my new loadout for bugs, and works VERY well
I was hoping for a primary that is as good as a support weapon. Now I can bring a Stallwart
I actually think you hit the nail in the head: this gun feels like a support weapon should... which makes it great to use with something like the arc thrower, which most of the time we use like a primary. I get that you were trying to show the weapon so you were using it all the time, but if you stick to using the bug zapper for most groups and just pull this to deal with the big guys, it's a perfect match.
I’m surprised they haven’t already added this, but I’d liked to see a weight feature added. I think that would give things like the Dominator and the Erupter more of a reason to take since both are basically support weapons but wouldn’t be as heavy as something like the AMR. Personally I think for both bugs and bots my new loadout is gonna be stalwart with this since man I love spraying that sweet sweet freedom at 1100 rpm
I still don't know where I'd rate this build in relation to my go-to bug set-up but it seems to trudge through Terminid helldives moderately well.
Depending on what strategem you bring in slot 8), it's always a little short on crowd clear OR heavy clear... Still, it functions...
1) Light armor with Engineering kit.
2) Incendiary grenades (these help immensely with thinning the horde as is leaves the breach).
3) Eruptor
4) Redeemer
5) Flamethrower/Arc thrower/Stalwart (Stalwart is "weaker" but, IMO performs alright in this build due to the immediacy and agency that it provides).
6) Guard dog (ammo isn't an issue since the restock buff and it kills quicker than the Rover).
7) Eagle 500kg.
8) EAT-17/orbital railcannon/eagle airstrike.
Edit: This is taking a while to get used to and I'm starting to feel that this build just isn't a good choice on helldive. I get better results just running the Auto-cannon and breaker incendiary. That being said, the fact that we got the Eruptor in the game shows that Arrowhead are aiming to introduce a lot of build diversity. Having utility in the primary and secondary weapon slots is really neat and I hope they add more in the future.
Also, the reverse ragdoll on the Eruptor and Grenade pistol needs to get fixed. It's so goofy.
I've found that this thing can actually pop Brood Commanders like a balloon, with either a head or body shot. It doesn't happen every time, so I don't know how to do it consistently yet, but it is possible.
the brood commander is actually oneshot you jsut have to hit them in the chest as the shrapnel then copmpletely explodes the whole thing. this wep is perfectly fit with the stalwart
Running past those bug holes without destroying them had my OCD going crazy
My feeling is that guard dog backpack with a run-and-gun playstyle would be much better for this build
I ran the eruptor with the Stalwart in the first game i got it, and this combo is so much fun. For sure there are more efficient meta loadout but i enjoy the package so far
you can swap to your support weapon and back to the eruptor after each shot to animation cancel the bolt action and get a faster RoF
Love the content my dude ❤ idk whats up with some people these days making up about kill counts in this game :v fun in the sun and as always, liberty
Soft disagree about pairing Eruptor with Arc, the best pair is the Stalwart. The Eruptor is like a soft Stratagem Support weapon.
You keep the Eruptor to kill Medium Armor and close bug holes, it's a support/utility weapon. The Stalwart for regular enemies, that's your primary. Why is Stalwart the best to pair with the Eruptor? Because it's not a problem when Hunters close down on you, unlike the Arc (ie @ 6:10); you can run while you reload, unlike the Machine Gun (also better recoil, ammo pickup, more magazines and bullets); and it offers no risk of self damage, unlike the Flamethrower. Plus, you can keep a low RPM (700 if I'm not mistaken), and it feels like it has infinite ammo, since it doesn't need a lot of ammo to kill the trash, but max RPM is really fun :)
This pair (Eruptor + Stalwart) allows you to bring a backpack like Shield, Rover or Ammo, and utility nades like Stun, without losing the ability to close holes. Just bring EAT and 500kg (or Laser, Railcannon, etc) to deal with Titans and you are set. I'm loving this loadout vs bugs, the Eruptor is just fun... and mowing down bugs with the Stalwart is, also, really fun.
Hard disagree with it being D tier vs bugs, it's a solid B for solo, probably A when in a group, when paired with the Stalwart, since to deal with Heavy Armored bugs you bring EAT (basically no cooldown) and 500kg.
It would be a D tier, hell, maybe even F tier, if you try to use it as a regular primary (ie Breaker, Scythe, etc), but that is not it's purpose, clearly it's an utility/support weapon for the primary slot (just like the Grenade Pistol is an utility/support for the secondary, or like the Stalwart is a Primary weapon from the Stratagems). You gotta be fair to the weapon's design when giving it a rank.
For me personally, the Eruptor should be used as a support for team play. I play against bugs almost exclusively and this is a VIABLE option against bugs if you play behind or in front of your team to clear hordes of bugs that are coming/chasing after the group. Also, setting up on high vantage points to take out groups of bugs from a distance may be a change in play style but will help the team out a lot, especially if your over watching in objective from afar and taking out hordes of bugs coming after your team doing the obj.
It's like a discounted autocannon but with the backpack. A great value autocannon if you will
Played with it in a 4stack earlier, it was able to one-tap every devestator type, but struggled with berserkers. Plus the explosion pulls you forward, which can pull you into the berserker blender so to speak. I think I still prefer the slugger, the only thing it does not do just as well is take out fabricators.
This gun alone let me bring another gear like stun grenade, stalwart and attack rover which is fresh to play with rather than usual thing. Definitely my favorite this warbond! 😊
I think the laser rover would probably work better in solo. Rover + redeemer + impact grenades for crowd control, something like railgun or QC to break heavy armour and finish with the primary.
Here's a comment for your helldiver yelling "SAY HELLO TO DEMOCRACY!" after he boards pelican-1. I, too, hate feeling ghosted by my uber.
Also good gameplay and nice clutch!
What I want to see from you, is using the Erupter in combination with a weapon that actually syndergizes with it. You picked a primary that is not good against swarms but is supposed to take down heavies, and then picked a support weapon that... is also not very good at taking out swarms quickly and is still used mostly for taking down heavies. This is the type of weapon you would bring with one of the Machine Guns or the shoulder mounted Laser.
I like the idea of a Primary weapon that deals with the big stuff, leaving your secondaries and support weapons to deal with the cannon fodder. I wish they would go whole hog on making it effective against heavy enemies, instead of leaving it in kind of an awkward position where it's not quite as effective and so you are better off not attempting to make it work. It's like they're afraid that making it good against heavies because if they were the case it would suddenly make all the other primaries irrelevant. But I don't believe that would happen if the Dilligence or Penetrator could suddenly take out a Hulk in a mag or two.
Hunters are why i prefer the guard dog laser with the thrower/erupter.
And the erupter is a beast vs automatons. One shots devastators and striders as well as gets rid of fabricators.
Havent seen how it does vs gunships yet
It's definitely an interesting choice, unfortunately my first impression was during heavy mortar fire with everything shaking around me, so I couldn't hit anything 😂
I think it needs to take its role in a mixed group. I love the arc thrower, but sometimes swarms get too close, and you've got two weapons that can hurt your team if they get too close.
Definitely would’ve paired it with the stalwart and a jump pack. A shield just has no value in a bug fight
Great video Takibo. Nice Tips btw ;)
ILY @taikibo ! have my CS:GO esport aimer babies!
xD cringe aside, great vids bud keep it up!
Supply pack, nade launcher, eruptor and a 6 shooter. 😂
10:51 a quick melee can help deal with a hunter, it tends to stun them or just kill them outright, useful in a clutch if you arent completely surrounded and will help if using the new pistol. I like to think the stun is shocked incredulity to someone not running away
Edit: you do that to pouncers at 39:20, that should teach me to comment before watching completely
Like you said, it should be a support weapon. If it pierced Chargers/titans with enough shots to the head, ide bring it. Can lower max ammo.
It can be decent support weapon against bugs paired with Stalwart or MG, it's insane against bots however, devastators deleted, patrols deleted, striders deleted, drop ships cleared from small enemies.
I like it solo a lot. I use it with stun grenades, rover and napalm to help me control the distance and deal with groups. Quasar and railcanon for big guys.
You should try out running the eruptor with the dog (laser) rover instead of the shield generator. Its going to give you that ad clear you lack woth the eruptor, keep you safe, and allow you to focus with the eruptor on medium sized bugs while your dog mops for you. also frees up that arc thrower spot if you dont want that particular weapon. Then you can use say the quasar canon for any chargers that come up. or any other support weapon you prefer
Eruptor + Stalwart + sheild or resupply pack and maybe + new grenade pistol for insurance againts hive and fabricators and + stun grenades to round out everything
Awesome job Takibo!
I love that it’s as powerful as it is.
Hey Takibo, love your content. Would you be able to showcase Eradication missions for both bugs and bots? They seem very tough for a solo player to handle and I was curious how you do them.
The eruptor like the crossbow bolt has a range issue because the ammo is heavy it dips down like a arc. Mid range it's forgiving but the further away it is the weaker it is.
I've used it in a few lvl 9 matches now. It's doable, I usually don't die. It definitely made my experience harder though. It's not good enough for heavy targets, bad for swarms, so I ended up using a lot of stratagems for swarms, quasar for heavy, side smg for anything get close to me, and eruptor for anything medium sized like guard, commander and spewers. The only thing I find it useful is that it can kill guards, stalkers and spewers easier than the sickle, and can close holes from far, but I still prefer the sickle over this one.
I want more content talking about the weaknesses of this weapon because after running it on both bots and bugs I’m very worried they are going to nerf it.
I personally love an actually strong hard hitting primary finally because it opens up bringing weaker stratagems and mixing up builds.
I paired eruptor with the flamethrower with the new 25% buff to direct fire damage. Thrower to kill big targets, eruptor to clear weak mobs with the splash damage. Stun grenades to stop chargers, less than a mag of flamethrower to kill them now. Napalm airstrike is CRACKED now. Better than gas strike for dropping on bug breach as the fire just melts them as they appear. Eruptor only weakness is hunters, but secondary SMG mops them up. I feel like jack of all trades finally. I easily did solo 300+ kills and I'm a shit player.
weapon feels more like a support weapon than a primary, it sure handles like one
They really need to fix the issues around fire not doing damage unless you're the host before they add any more fire weapons.
I hope the next warbond will be covert themed: suppressed weapons, snipers and scout armors (ghillie would be cool)
Not me screaming at my screen to use a guard dog rover 💀 I think you just built a bad class for the weapon
i was thinking the same thing
Shouldn't you be aiming to use your pistol to handle close encounters if you're using this thing for long to medium range engagements?
It’s amazing versus bots. Can be good versus bots if you bring the stalwart as your primary
I understand your main point, selecting a support weapon for svarms. And maybe that is what they want to achieve in general. But as a solo player, are there any pros of going Eruptor + Stalwart compared to say Sickle + Autocannon?
Ive been having a blast with the eruptor.
For any Eruptor enjoyers, do yourself a favor and bring a guard dog. It really makes this weapon shine, helping clear out scavengers and hunters while you focus down breaches and clumps.
This weapon is born to go with flamethower since it can deal with bile spewer effectively while the flamethower struggling to deal with it.
Flamethrower + guard dog rover combo for bugs 🔥 good class for this weapon
Is everybody not aware of the fact that you reach max mobility speed with minimal energy loss when running with your sidearm out? The difference is so notable that I'm surprised most people don't know it already. To combat the swarming due to the primary weapon's weight slowing you down, just run with your sidearm until you regain a manageable distance to shoot again with your primary/support.
I wonder how funny would it be to run this plus Anti-Material Rifle as a stratagem? Or would you just end up overwhelmed in all situations?
Speaking of, how does this compare to the AMR?
Seems like this weapon may be more for automatons and hits heavy enemies. Bring a stalwart and ammo pack for crowd control then have this when you’re dealing with bigger enemies. Remaining strategems for bile titans/hulks. Not every primary should fill the role of crowd clearing.
i know you're not a big fan of the guard dog rover, but i've found it helps to much when trying to clear out little guys
great to see how much harder it gets with a not optimal loadout
Guard dog might be a better choice with this weapon vs bugs, to help with hunters and small bugs
I also tested this weapon and it seems fit for a "Support" Player role in a Squad
Concerning the Arc Thrower: i don't think it is bugged. Problem is just that is targets dead bodies, which especially in terminid missions, there's plenty of.
Makes all arc weapons absolutely useless in my opinion. They have to fix them to no longer jump to dead enemies and get grounded.
The eruptor on the other hand is really nice for what it does - replace your primary lowpower waveclear with a mediumpower waveclear Stalwart/whatever support weapon, and turns your primary into a slightly worse support weapon; because who really needed the grenade launcher to fire its entire mag in two seconds anyway?
Against bots, it has the potential to oneshot berserkers and rip them into two pieces. Consistently two shots at worst, which is nice. makes quick work of all types of devastators as well. It's great.
But i prefer to be the Quasar guy on my team - blow up charger faces and bot dropships. So Eruptor is just level 4-5 fun gun for me.
