It would be interesting to interview people who are selling their houses in the Villages after 2-3 years due the after glow of living in the Villages wears off and expectations did not live up to their to seeing themselves living forever in the Villages..
That would be a good show but I would have no idea how to find those people.
@@JERRYANDLINDA I suppose you would have to visit open houses or knock on doors with for sale signs on the garage to interview sellers or their agents.
An episode that would require a month or so of work.
About roofs and insurance. A new law, signed by DeSantis recently, requires insurance companies to accept a roofing company's inspection report stating the roof will last at least 5 years. Insurance companies can't drop coverage for roofs over 15-years old if they have this inspection report.
There are no bad areas! We have been here 10 years and wouldn’t live anywhere else in the world. Still Living The Dream.
Define bad areas 🤔
Yeah that homeowners insurance debacle is what's keeping my checkbook closed. 40% rate hikes, cancelled policies, fees and surcharges to cover insolvent companies. And a $19,000 roof every 15 years is a $1,600 yearly tax all its own.
Buying a place with a new roof would be one replacement..maybe in my lifetime. We can't run from taxes and insurance. It's either a leap in faith or being on the death bed saying, gee wish I bought that house in TV.
Good health is the key where ever you live
I love love this show today !!! Free information that’s very valuable. It seems like everyone is wealthy there, buying 500,000 dollar homes sight unseen. Good for them and I mean it ❤️
This is the reward for putting in years of hard work, bad jobs, bad co-workers and/or bosses, long commutes and the like. It is called a work ethic and having perseverance and wisdom for the future.
@ Rosy Red
There are a lot of lovely homes and neighborhoods in the villages that don’t command those prices. Also the neighborhoods have mixed areas . Small bungalow style homes on the same streets as $500 plus homes . They are all beautiful places !
RR - I wanted to just add to what others have said. These folks are simply using the equity they accrued over years & years - decades actually - of paying a house payment. If the area they are coming from is desirable - walking out of the title office with half a million dollar check is a common thing with baby boomer & younger homeowners. The great majority of these people are middle class. Don’t be discouraged, Friend. Just trying to put that huge price tag into perspective!✌🏽😎🌴
I wish I could afford to live there, but I sure enjoy watching all the fun!
@@d.l.n.7133 That’s nice to know. Thank you for a kind reply. Unlike Texas Mimi.
I loved watching this show. It’s one of the best episodes you’ve produced. My husband and I have been on three visits to TV. Each time there was something that prevented us from purchasing. One time my husband got Covid, another time we found a house but someone else beat us to it. Now my husband is hospitalized and we are probably not going to ever be able to go back to TV, let alone buy and move there. I cried as I watched today-happy for these lovely people but sad that we can’t join them. I’m still a diehard fan and supporter of your show. I don’t know how you keep coming up with such a variety of interesting things to share. Keep up the good work!
I am sorry about your husband. It is lovely that you enjoy other people's stories. I agree this was a fantastic episode.
Thank you for your kind comments, Linda.
@@JERRYANDLINDA ohhhh Linda, you and Jerry are so loved. We have friends in TV and they say you two are like rock stars , everyone knows who Jerry and Linda are. 💕
Thank you, Rosy. We appreciate your kindness.
Bought a house yesterday in Newell... So excited!!!!!! Going back to Illinois to sell our house. Can't wait. Are planning to rent our new house in Newell out before we can move in
How exciting! Congratulations!
To Laura & Tim: I’ll wager that you feel doubly lucky to have moved to The Villages when you did, now that Arizona has had to stop all new home builds, due to lack of water. I pray a resolution comes for the state of Arizona.
This was a great show! It was so interesting to hear from relatively new residents and their buying experiences. I also enjoyed seeing the homes some of them purchased... always in awe of the plants and landscaping! I know you enjoy meeting everyone, but this is a lot of work that you put into these videos and it is certainly appreciated. I'd enjoy a revisit with this same group in the future! Sounds like they are very happy they made this choice!
Glad you enjoyed it, Karen!
Loved this show
Great information
Like it when others share photos of their homes!
Love the different styles & front views😊
Excellent. Loved the interviews with the new homeowners and their experiences. Very helpful information. Especially the couple that were realtors.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I especially like the man that moved from California and his view of moving to Florida and his take in the proximity to highways. The real estate couple had a lot of great tips, no sewage plant area. Plus ask for what you want. They had a great real estate person who worked hard for them vs selling a property that sells itself. You should have them on again !!!!
This video is so touching to me. I can relate to the joy they feel living here and the confidence they have knowing they made a good choice! I love hearing what people thought when they first came here and saw The Villages because I know how I felt. I was shocked when I saw all of these little cars scooting around. Enjoyed this video very much Jerry and Linda! Excellent! ❤❤
Great show today, guys. It’s great seeing people so happy with their purchases in The Villages. What a great bunch of folks.
One of my favorite shows that you've done! Absolutely loved hearing the home buying experiences of so many different people!
Glad you enjoyed it!
We loved hearing everyone’s story of how they purchased their homes!! We so loved watching your videos for over a year and it was so inspiring. We saw a model and did a bid and saw the house by videos. Our realtor was AMAZING and we weren’t surprised with anything!! We love it here!! Frog here forever😎😎
And we're glad that you are!
A great show! Who doesn’t love to see happy people? Thank you Jerry and Linda!
We are leaving today after our weeklong lifestyle visit, and I told our sales agent the one big negative I have about being here is having to leave
😆😆😆😆😆
Show idea - maybe some focus on the subject of people making the choice to leave family behind. In 3-5 years when/if we relocate there, that will be the one last “hangup.” And if there is already one you’ve done, please show me the link 😊
Great show! I would love to hear from residents that purchased smaller homes. Patio Villas fit my budget. Coming in September for a lifestyle visit!
Yes do your due dilgence and this may take time. Don’t let your heart rule your head. There will always be another house if you miss out and the Villages Realtors seem to be very skilled at what they do. You will find your perfect home. Excellent interviewing again Jerry and you found some lovely people to talk with 👏👏
Thank you, Helen! Always so kind.
Great show today! Interesting to hear about other people’s adventures.
Great show Jerry and Linda. Interesting to hear their stories and experiences.
Good group of people willing to share😊
So nice to see that everyone was so happy with their purchases! Have a wonderful weekend Jerry and Linda, and thank you for another great show!
Great show and eight days until I own my never seen in person home there. Looking forward to everything and especially the fishing.
Great episode! Thanks
Fabulous show Jerry & Linda!
What a pleasure hearing from all your informative, positive guests … and now neighbors!! Thank you!!
Excellent show! We can’t wait to find our dream home! ❤❤🎉🎉
Great show and topic. I enjoy watching positive videos. Can't wait for the follow up as they learn the good bad & ugly.
Your guests are very natural and genuine
What a great idea for a show. We are going to be in that boat here in a couple years. Thanks for sharing the stories.
Such a great video! Really appreciated the information from the last couple in particular.
Fantastic show! So informative. I was viewing the floor plans when people mentioned which ones they bought, and that couple that bought the Livingston! What a great plan! It's now in my list!
Very fun show!
Such a good episode today! Thank you!
You are so welcome!
I liked the husband/wife interview. Would be great to do a show with them on how they picked their location and why. They could show us where the trash sites are and the sewer. It’s things most people would not think to look at. It would we an amazing show!
Great show. Thanks for the work that went into this
Our pleasure!
A very informative show as always. I’m glad to be on the other side now as homeowners ourselves. This information will be very helpful to all future villagers.
Nice show, interesting guests 👍🏻👍🏻
Great show, thank you!
Our pleasure!
Very informative episode. The homes are so expensive, a sellers' market for sure.
Awesome!
▶️ Jerry, this was really informative. Hope you do more like this one! Thank you! 😊
So fun to hear about others adventures in finding their homes and futures in the Villages. Very good show!
Thank you, Julie!
One of your best and informative shows!
Wow, thanks!
Great video! Sorry we missed the Facebook post, maybe next time. See you around.
Great show you guys, I love hearing other people’s stories!❤️
Glad you enjoy it!
Love this video! You do such a wonderful job covering every subject!
Thank you so much!
Really good info, thank you. Particularly about the 15 year mark for a new roof in order to keep the insurance in check. Wow!
Such a very interesting show. Loved it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
It was interesting to hear from the last couple. The sewer, the noise, the Landfill. I have heard this from the southern potential buyers. Good pointers! 💖💖💖 can’t wait to move there.
another home run guys - great show - see ya when we get there !
Thanks, Will!
WAOOO 👍👍👍 TREMENDOUS VIDEO. ABSOLUTELY EYE OPENING INFORMATION.
Thanks for the awesome show! I loved hearing their first hand stories of buying in The Villages! 🏡 🌞 ⛳️
Glad you enjoyed it!
I loved hearing these experiences. You two have a huge influence on thousands of people. The Villages should pay you! I would like more videos like this. Thanks!
Wow, thank you!
It was so fun hearing everyone's story. Thanks for creating this video.💖
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great show! I really like these type of videos. 😊
Glad you like them!
Lovely, honest video, and what smashing folks. Good luck and sending wishes of happy times for all.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great Show.....😊
Paoli, Indiana here! Great idea for a video and well narrated! I always look forward to seeing you both twice a week. Take care.
Thank you! You too!
Great show thanks so much
Glad you enjoyed it
The roof and the insurance situation (and increasing property taxes) are terrifying. I plan on being in The Villages in 14ish years, and Middleton within the next two years, and the only thing pushing me away from the idea altogether is the roof, insurance, and taxes- and I know I'm not alone.
It’s not that great here. I would definitely do your research
That’s one of the things that is very concerning to us and also pushing us away. Not to mention where are the hospitals to care for 150,000 residents and counting ???
@@nf2885 honestly, I would just drive the 2.5 hours to Jacksonville and go to the Mayo Clinic. I live in Las Vegas now and the healthcare is terrible, I drive 5hrs to Phoenix for most serious medical stuff.
I thought the same thing. Seems like these people are not thinking about medical services.
@@dibari22 do you really think people want to drive 2.5 hours to a hospital? 🤔
Love it love it love it - informative and entertaining to hear home buyers speak on their experience. I learned a lot. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is my favorite show! Great information for those of us thinking of moving to the Villages! Love the candid info from people who bought sight unseen!
Thanks, Robert!
Good morning and happy Thursday Jerry and Linda. Good morning and welcome Donna. Sight unseen? Wow. I’m a nervous Nelly. Don’t think I could do that. Quite brave of them. Good morning David 2nd guest. GM Ryan 3rd guest. GM 4th guests Laura and Tim. Oooh. Real estate agents. Different spin. I understand the insurance requests but it seems ridiculous to force ppl to put out these monies to change entire roofs that are fine 🤷🏻♀️. Folks usually fix their roof at the 1st sign of trouble. Good points about being near major streets and sanitation facilities. This was very nice hearing these folks stories. Thanks to all for sharing and all happy. Yes. Hope there are none but hearing the salty not happy would be interesting too. Thanks and wonderful weekend to all 🤗
That was an awesome video! 🥰🥰
Thank you! 🤗
Great show. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Wonderful show today, as always. This one hit with us since we are in the hunt for the perfect location and home. Lots of valuable information and advice for folks that are making the move. See you in the fall Linda and Jerry!
See you when you get here!
Thank you Laura for letting us know that the Villages isn't the only place that has the STD rumor. I get so tired of having to reply to people's concerns about this non-issue.
Omg, my sister innlse mentioned STDs every time I mentioned The Villages. Based on no facts, it's annoying.
Wow, what a great topic this week! Thank you so much. I know it had to have taken you a lot of time to make it. It gave me a lot of things to think about for when we buy our home there.
Glad it was helpful, Sally. Thank you!
Fantastic video. We bought a lot, came back 6 months later and changed it to another village. Finished the designs and due to covid had to wait 3 years before we got to see it. Thanks to GoldWingNuts video service we at least got to see it being built. But getting inside that first time, seeing how big the home was , oh boy were we lucky. The place is amazing. So not surprised that you have such interesting interviewees who have shared their positive stories. I reckon you’ll find it VERY hard to find anyone who regrets the decision.
Hello from Minnesota. I just wanted to say that you two are so inspiring! And you do meet the nicest people - which is a breath of fresh air in today's world. I love your content and creativity and appreciate all the work you do to produce such a great channel. I loved Jerry's bike ride, loved meeting Linda's sister, and really enjoy all your videos. I just want to say thank you for being a bright spot in the lives of so many. May God continue to bless you always!
Laura, what nice things to say. Thank you! ❤❤❤
Good stuff as always guys...Been watching yall for years and finally bought a place in St Cats--- Ill see YOU when I get there!
Congratulations and welcome!
Really enjoyed your show today! We’ll be there for a lifestyle visit the first week of August. Looking forward to seeing TV first hand. Thanks for all you both do to bring TV to us! ☀️🛺🏌🏻♂️🏝
Wow, what a great bunch of interviews, really some great commentaries by the people you talked to, really confirmed what Louise and I were thinking and saw when we were on our Lifestyle visit last year. Now we just have to find one for ourselves (hopefully sight seen, LOL). Nice session Jerry and Linda!
Thanks, John.
Thank you Jerry and Linda, this was very helpful! The tips from the realtor couple were great advice on how to look for property.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Even though these folks bought sight unseen, they were very specific about their must haves-I think that's important. So happy for all of them.
Great point!
Great stuff. thanks for sharing. It would be interesting to interview some people who were/are not happy here.
They are hard to find.
Interesting show!
Hello from Louisville 😊 Love you guys! Great video ❤❤
Thank you! Related to Lee?
Great show today Jerry & Linda! So helpful for those looking to buy a home. It’s a huge investment & leap of faith for retirees. Thank you so much for all you do for us😘
Our pleasure!
Very interesting to hear the new residents experience and how most of them sold a home very profitably elsewhere. Certainly is more desirable not to have a mortgage in retirement.
Jerry and Linda thank you for the opportunity to be on your show and all of the editing there must have been. ❤ It was a really great video.
Thank YOU! You did a great job!
Will be helpful to those thinking about moving here. The Livingston model is like my Bridgeport but with a flat back to the home
Would have been fun to see their homes 😊
Absolutely loved this video. Finding out where they were from, what they bought and why and how their process turned out. Informative and entertaining. Loved seeing their pics too. Thank you, Jerry & Linda. 😊. Marlene & Caroline 😊😊😊❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great show 😊 My husband and I just bought sight unseen ( just pictures on the website and realtor doing a FaceTime tour) this week! We get to move in the beginning of next month. Can’t wait!
Congratulations and welcome!!! 😁😁
What a great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good show and good guests. Jerry... either your interviewing skills are really good or you're REALLY great at editing.
Let's go with door number one. 😁😁😁😁😁
Loved this show. Hope we won’t have to buy that way but great advice from the Arizona realtors if we do. Thank you for another great show.
Our pleasure!
Thanks!
Mark, thank you so much for your generous gift. We really appreciate it.❤❤❤❤❤
Good morning. Love your videos
Thanks so much, Linda!
Good show! I have a story to share next time!
Please do!
Good morning another great video very informative 😘
Thanks so much!
Interesting video! Nice job!
Thank you very much!
One aspect about these interviews that would be interesting to know is about their family (kids and grand kids) and how close they are with them and where they live and how they will manage staying close.
Very close. They live in Scottsdale. They have come 3 times since July (we have vacationed with them) and now we will visit every 2 months. Plane flights.
Livingston is a nice floorplan! Just looked it up.
Great show! Great variety of guests. There are more of us that bought or are buying sight unseen than you could imagine. It’s not that hard to buy sight unseen, all neighborhoods are great!
You just need to stick to a maximum budget, a town square you want to be near for location, a list of must haves, list of do not want and what you are willing to remodel, if anything, when you buy. All homes have the same amenities to have fun in entire Village area, all have great neighbors, if you stick to your list, I’m sure you will be happy in your forever home.
*Only very important thing to remember for the long run retirement planning is: our retirement funds can deplete because of budget changes with inflation; or if we planned on our funds to last until we are 85 years old and we exceed that age; or unexpected medical issues that affect our retirement funds and lastly if a spouse passes away we could loose a pension and definitely we will loose one social security check to change our budget for less to live on.
Great points!
Great video. David sold his house, packed up, came to TV bought quickly but where did he stay before settlement?? We're hoping to find something soon!
