i just bought progressive suspension for my for my sportster, and just have a good feeling, its going to be superior to the standard fork spring,i hope so anyway
Hi. I have a Sportster seventy-two 2015 with only 5000 miles. The front fork makes a clankc in extension and stains the bars a bit. I want to install these monotube. Should I change the seals or how these monotubes work with very little oil is not necessary ?. Thank you!
This video is linked to the monotube cartridge kit for the Sportster 48, which has much different instructions than this. I had to cut my spacer for proper ride height, and it said to fill the leg without the aluminum body with the normal amount of oil, and the aluminum body leg only gets a small amount of oil, but none of that is mentioned in this video. I love the 490 shocks and monotube forks but I won't ever buy another progressive suspension product. I ordered expensive shocks and forks and reached out on Instagram, via email and on RUclips for over a year asking simple questions that I eventually had to either figure out on my own or from someone else because there is literally 0 customer service after they get their money. It will be Ohlins or Legend next time simply for this reason alone.
in this video, the gentleman uses the OLD (smaller) top out spring in the right leg with the cartridge, but doesnt use the lowering configuration. The Instructions and kit I received have a NEW "longer" top out spring to use on the cartridge side when maintaining the stock height. Is this video just old? Im assuming the newer instructions supplied are correct, and not this video?
@@bricebotton7639 no reply back. I just followed the instructions with the kit. I dont know if I have them adjusted correctly, but i honestly do not feel much difference from stock. Just my opinion.
I have a fatboy 2012. And my city has many holes in the streets. So, I ask, If I ... can ... not install the clips ("C" spacers) ..... which are made of plastic material .. ??
What's the difference between plastic and metal? How would the metal have any give to snap and lock in place on the rod? Then wouldn't metal on metal cause debris in the fork oil over time as appose to the plastic sliding smoothly on any surface. Wait... I don't see any c clip spacers in this kit..... You should be watching a video that pertains to your bike and maybe you will figure out the reason behind your question.
mine keep diving under braking. any ideas? set preload to max, is a little better but still very noticable. now fully extends during acceleration. increased ground clearance and better handling but not like advertisement
Did you end up swapping it? I have the adjustable monotube cartridge kit on my 2018 forty eight and it is a night and day difference, the bike rides incredible now. That being said the next build will have Ohlins inverted forks!
These are garbage, says has 3 clips for each side, 2 recommended, but my kit only came with 4 clips so went 1 on each side & brake dives just like stock. What a waste of time & money
just installed these on my lowrider-s and quite a noticable difference from stock, even though i had my doubts im really satisfied with this kit

Both of my mono shock sets didn't come with preload adjustable tool. is it supposed to come with it? I can't find a size big enough to fit

What is the length of the PVC spacer supposed to be?
Mine didn't come with supplied adjuster wrench, on both of my sets
Wrench is not supplied.

Just ask for it at your local dealership. They have it.
Can this be done without taking the forks off the bike?
