I'm so happy to have found your clear and COMPLETE instructions on how to do this! New subscriber and stoked to get going on my subdomain site now :) Thanks so much!!
Thanks Ben. I am planning on creating an English version of my food blog which is in Spanish using a subdomain. The same blog I created after watching your amazing 5.5 hours long step by step free tutorial. You are a life save my friend. Cheers.
Thanks ben for again an amazingly helpful tutorial. Why dont you make video on SEO and Key word research. Many people like me have problem of not getting enough traffic on website
Hey! Thanks for watching and thanks for the kinds words. I have a video on keyword research, but it's located within my paid course. However, I have a free tutorial on the Yoast SEO plugin that you can watch here ruclips.net/video/-HiQpdbteWU/видео.html It's a complete walkthrough on how to leverage the plugin to boost your blog's SEO. I hope that helps and thanks again for watching!
Nice one Ben Just what I was looking for as I use Bluehost, but only have the basic plan with one domain. I will use your advice to build a completely new site behind the scenes (not indexed by Google) rather than doing it by staging. I'm hoping it's then possible to switch the subdomain to be the main domain... Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Is it possible? Cheers
Thank you so much for watching! Yes, you can transfer domains and migrate your site over to the subdomain if you'd like. I would reach out to Bluehost to see if they have any suggestions though. I personally would use this plugin wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/ It's pretty easy to use. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
Hi, Sina! Thanks for watching! Are you referring to after you create the subdomain? If so, sometimes it takes a few minutes for the subdomain to work. Is that what you're issue it?
not sure if things i have changed, but once i get to the end part where it shows to choose domain, i click on the sub domain i created, click next, and it eventually tells me that creating failed due to it being created already. I even tried remaking a new one with a different name, and it says the same thing.
update on my own comment, in the file manager, it looks like all the wordpress files were created and i can see the basic wordpress template when i hit the address. I just dont have login information for it.
Hi! Thanks for watching! Sorry you're having that issue. That error is typically due to a misconfiguration or problem with your DNS. I'd reach out to Bluehost tech support to confirm. Have you tried deleting the subdomain and trying again?
@@jakestoneshow Hmmmm that's new to me as well. I'll have to do some troubleshooting and research on the issue. Have you tried reaching out to Bluehost tech support to see if they have a workaround? :)
@@blogwithben So i did contact BH and they went in and added programming to the HT access file and then specified that they were having an issue with their servers.
Thanks for bringing that to my attention! I'll work on a new video and get that uploaded soon. In the meantime, here is how you add a subdomain now www.bluehost.com/help/article/subdomains

Hi thank you for your helpful tutorial, I have a question though, so having the basic hosting plan will host also my subdomains?
Hey! Thanks for watching! Yep, the subdomain works off of your primary domain, so your basic plan will allow subdomains. Great question!
Hello. What I go to log in to wordpress it says Not found and additionally a 404 error. Do you know what may be causing this issue?

Hi! I followed all these steps, but when I try to log in to Wordpress, it says the site can't be reached. Do you know why that might be?
it gives me a DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error

This doesn't seem to work with adding custom HTML files to the backend.
