This is my first “Running up that hill”. I was teenager, pretty later I noticed this is cover song. Of course original is also so good but this version also very impressive! One of my favorite Within temptation song.

Anybody who has listened to most Within Temptation songs has noticed that Sharon den Adel sounds like Kate Bush sometimes. For me, it was very interesting to hear her singing Kate's song. I love them both. Wonderful singers. Both versions are great.
@@klaus-juergenreinke6265 Kate Bush is the best female rock star of all times. Nobody can and wants to impersonate her. My point was that Sharon den Adel's voice has elements of Kate Bush's voice and mixing them with her own style was superb.
I love how powerful Sharon's voice sounds on this song. I love the moments when she finishes a line and lets out almost a high-pitched sigh or hangs onto a note for a second, particularly the moments at 1:01 and 1:28. It's very clear she was inspired by Kate Bush, just take Kate's lines in Wuthering Heights and match them up with Sharon's lines in Caged. I think it's a very tasteful influence, without ever attempting to rip her off or mimic her.
Very nice comment. I noticed that around 1:45, 1:49, 1:54, 1:59 too. And in these parts, it seems like they were the first take ever of her voice without having it fixed in the studio, just so natural, sometimes almost willingly out of pitch and doing kind of rollercoasters. And this gives me the goosebumps.
