Recently went to gui zhou package tour with his parents. Very humble family. Tried their bread. Taste Is nice and price also reasonable. Hope they will continue to progress. 传承新加坡的古早味。

There was once a bakery near my neighbourhood. I used to get my bread there. However when Swee Heng took over, the price shot up astronomically over the past 5 years.
Everytime I walked past the bakery, the bread looks very tempting. However the price point is seemingly ridiculous for a bread.
By buying 2 of the small bread, I would've been already able to afford 1 good hearty meal.

got 1 stall near my neighbourhood. is it really priced at affordability level? maybe when ask supplier to keep their profits low, ownself can also keep profits low? just find when I feel like eating bread will hop over to the nearest mall for the other brands, find it more value.

Great local brand! Consider to learn and copy shamelessly from some of the global brand like brand promise & imaging, store decor, promotions, service engagement, families, community involvement, etc. As for cost management, do track daily usage and don’t be afraid to remove those items with very low product mix. Yes….Less is more! Keep it going and I am sure you are heading towards the right direction! 👍🙏

Unless I have no other choices, I'd grab one or two buns here.... not nice at all and expensive.... already can feel mass production....
PLEASE DO NOT MENTION WHAT TRADITIONAL BREAD!!!!!
But, I won't even patronize breadtalk (expensive lousy bread + rude staff)

I don't exactly agree with everything the journalist is suggestive.
it is very easy to say expand overseas.
    Questions to answer will be:
    1) Is what you are offering wanted by customers in these countries? Food is something very cultural based. Your food taste from one country may not be very much accepted by another, and there are a multitude of factors. If you have tried Swee Heng baked pastries and bread - they are very local flavour. It may not be suited for taste palates of other countries.
    2) What is the competition at the countries you are going to expand to. It may be difficult to compete especially if what you are offering is too identical to what the local competition has.

Their breads are delicious, it's not cheap and they don't do discounts but much rather buy from them than breadtalk. Also breads like these are quite unhealthy so once in a while is fine

Swee heng bread is in the cheaper range but not really cheap. Those who know how to know to enjoy bread won't buy their bread. Bread taste dry worst than those gardenia or sunshine, fruits inside the sandwich contain like a chemical taste. Heard the bagel doesn't have the real bagel texture also.

I don't know about what others think. All I know is that Swee Heng has always been more honest in their approach to giving the best value to their customers instead of resorting to more fancy marketing ploys like many of its competitors just to gain market share. It's this down to earth honest approach that keeps me loyal to the brand all these years.
