I had a 1999 F-350 super cab, the rear seat was only made for the 99 model year, the rear lower seat would fold over and the back of the seat would fold down for a perfect flat base. I'm 6'2", when taking long trips, I would use it sleep on. I would check that 'to me' upgrade, I think money well spent to have a flat base.
@@1D10CRACY I would think for the reason I used it, sleeping on. No seat belt could be used. Having your kids sleeping there while moving? But to use it for only 1 year, that was a fast change.
HEAR ME OUT In 2008 or so they started putting the seat belts for the front seats in the rear doors I’m planning on swapping both rear “suicide doors” (with front seat belts installed) and throwing in some decent vinyl 40/20/40 seats out of a 2015
SAFETY WARNING: Just a warning. Those earlier seats aren’t safe. The backs aren’t strong enough to hold the weight of the passengers in a crash, so they swing forward like your only wearing a lap belt, but your body wont rebound back like you would in a lap only belt crash. So not only does your face and torso bottom out the airbag, but your now way closer to the steering wheel and will hit it again in a secondary collision. Search up the crash test video for that cab, it demonstrates this well. Getting a seat from the next generation or a different car fixes the problem.
Here is a link to the data on this cab with these seats in case anyone is interested. www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/ford/f-150-extended-cab-pickup/2005. Personally I only wear the belt for legal reasons. 😂
I have the same truck , it was a gift from my brother but the seats are digesting (really bad oil and the smell is intense) ….mine is a 2000 ford f150 xlt super cab , can you point me in the right direction to find seats that will fit this truck ? I don’t even care what type of seats I just want something new , I have 500$ saved for the driver and passenger seat , if you can help I’d appreciate that a lot
We found them on the Facebook Marketplace. We just kept searching for seats until we found a pair that was in our price range and had the Integrated Seat Belts.
Always good to see a seat swap on a Ford truck. Ford makes a great machine!

Took me a while to find a video of this style of seat online, but I did! It looks GREAT! Wonder why ford changed it the following year.

My 99 super cab seat is like that too. I'm pretty sure the obs extended cabs had the same seats. My 97 had the same seat
awesome upgrade Tim!
Thanks 👍
Love this project. Thanks!
Looks better everyday!
I am looking at buying a 10th gen f150 xlt third door and would love to do these seats they are by far comfortable and look better than the f150 seats

@@1D10CRACYthe video is for a F150 unless those seats are the same as a F250
Might swap out my seats!

This was done to my 2004. What did you do with the code 47. The yellow plugs are not long enough to reach to old plugs.
My truck is a 2001, maybe that is why I didn't have a code 47. I also don't remember having any plug issues.
What did you do with your old seats and seat belts?
I used the seats in another project, the seat belts I'm pretty sure I threw away.
I can’t find seats like this anywhere. #unicorn
