Very nice video. My 2008 Rhino 700 is not charging. I've done the stator and rectifier tests. Stator is bad. So, I've got a new stator to put in. I got started and saw the oil lines that have to be removed. That freaked me. Your video does a really good job of dealing with the oil lines and the coolant system. So, now I'm not freaked out and will continue. Also, I liked your solution to the burnt plug. I don't have that problem but it will be a nice reference for future issues. Thanks again for the video!!!
Thank you! Excellent video where I was hesitant to do it myself. I'd do it again -- just takes a little time. My stator looked fried too. I wonder what caused that? It's the 2nd one in 3 years. I've replaced the battery, the rectifier/regulator and checked all connections. For good measure I unhooked both winches and aftermarket lights and put them on a separate power source -- Don't know if that would case that but one of the winches does have a short and instantly kills the battery.
Hey ive got a issue with over heating on my 2008 yamaha rhino special edition, about 10 minutes or so of idleing the over heating light comes on and i smell antifreeze. far as i can tell there is not water circulating in the radiator . tested the thermastat and its opening when i tested it in a pot of boiling water, bleed the coolant lines also, so im kinda leaning toward water pump needs replaceing . what you think maybe or maybe not ?
also water in radiator is not hot when it does overheat cool to the touch , but smelling antifreeze each time it over heats, oil is clean no milk in it
great job on the video brother ! it really helps when u didnt skip and steps in the process

The compliments are much appreciated. Thank you!
@@thehonestmechanic Thanks again for the video. I finished my stator replacement today. It went well!
@@racardon that's great! Pass on this info to someone who can use it!

I would assume that the winch with a short cannot be good for the stator.
I find that sometimes these stators have coils that were wound too tight which causes them to fail.

Have you tried bleeding out the water pump? Another question is whether or not the cooling fan is turning on.
@@thehonestmechanic yeah the cooling fan almost comes on right away, yes i bleed the thermostat and water pump yesterday
Is the coolant circulating?
@@thehonestmechanic nope i see no movement in the water in the radiator at all
