Let's just take note they are playing instruments and singing LIVE!!! Michael McDonald is the truth!!! The Doobie Brothers are a great band, but once Michael joined, they had a more soulful sound. My mom loves them!
facts
I think you'd enjoy their songs "Minute by Minute" and "Takin' It to the Streets."
Shawny, I was so worried when you hadn't posted for weeks. Glad to see you back. This is some real, old school talent here. They don't make them like this anymore. Michael McDonalds vocals. I seriously used to think he was a brother before I saw what he looked like lol
I'm not sure you have done it or not, but react to Michael Mcdonald's "I Keep Forgetting". you will instantly recognize who sampled it. Doobie Brothers are the truth.
Oh yeah....the Doobie brothers are the real deal back in the day!
"Somewhere Back In The Long Ago"...I Felt This.
It sounds Familiar because it has been sampled so much, I think it was sampled for a popular TV show jingle 😊
Thank you young brother!! This is jams
Wow, the Doobie Brothers 🤣 I remember as child not understanding a word he was saying, and then gobsmacked by the fact that he was white! That being said, he and Patti LaBelle did a song together called: On My Own.
It’s funny you say that I heard some people say ……yooo this song is good but what that dude saying ?! Lol
@@MrBlackBono 🤣💯
🤣...Hardly knew the words, but loved everything about him. I still love him. Errybody loves Michael. Especially black people.
On My Own always does something to me. They sang that song for real!! One of my favorites.
@@mushmouth610 It was definitely popular. Another great duo that sang great together, George Michael and Aretha Franklin "Knew You Were Waiting" which was hugely popular.
Hey, good to see ya back n action. Patti LaBelle ft. Michael McDonald- "On My Own"
OMG CLASSIC
Classic
I love this song! This is my Dad's group, he loves them. I was born in the 80s and this song truly gives you the 80s vibe!
I'm a 70's baby. My parents played this so much, I still remember just about all of the words. 😩😂
@@skbwolverine You could understand what he's singing?! Genius!
Check out some earlier Doobie Brothers, Long Train Runnin' China Grove, Black Water
Welcome back my boy
I still don't know what they were saying on the song! 🤣🤣 What fool believes, he sees and something about a wise man and her apology!! The melody gets you, not the song itself.
Lyrical geniuses are either understood or wasted on the masses.
Welcome back ❤
My Dad would play this song in the car 1:54 when my siblings and I were going to the store…can’t go wrong with the Doobie Brothers
PLAYBOY ... MADONNA INTO THE GROOVE ... THAT SONG WILL CHANGE UR LIFE ... WHITE, BLACK, LATIN, ASIAN ... IT'S A VIBE & EVEN 2PAC WAS DOWN WIT IT! ...
REACH TO DOBBIE BROTHERS TAKING TO THE STREET AND MICHAEL MCDONALD'S I KEPT FORGETTING WARREN G NATE DOG SAMPLE IT REGULATE MICHAEL MCDONALD IS THE LEAD SINGER OF THE DOBBIE BROTHERS HE SONG SWEET DREAMS IS GOOD TO.
Doobie Brothers - Black Water.
Gta V Shawny if u play it u probably know it from there. Michael McDonald's song I keep forgetting is where the song regulators was sampled from.
Welcome back, bruh. ✌🏽
This is more my mom's era but i like it. ❤️❤️🎶🎶💃💃👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Written by Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins. Produced by Ted Templeman. This song won the 1979 Grammys for Song of the Year.
Michael McDonald sang with Nicole Larson, Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins,
Steely Dan, Patti Labelle, Toto, and the late James Ingram, RIP.
MM and Van Halen wrote I'll Wait.
MM also sang as a solo singer. Suggested video 📹: Michael McDonald sings I Keep Forgettin.
This is the first time I hear this
They performed in Singapore a couple of months ago.
this is the rare song where i wish you'd have reviewed the album version instead.
Seriously? If he didn't like this song I doubt if he'd enjoy any of the others.
You should listen to Aretha Franklin’s version of this song. She puts that extra “umph” on it.
I love Michael McDonald. He is one of my FAV vocalist and writers.
Check out Michael McDonald's "I Keep Forgettin." It's a classic bop. That song has been sampled in some hip-hop classics like Warren G's "Regulate."
Uhhh ohhh. I love the Doobie brothers, but I love Michael McDonald more solo & duets/collabs. Michael Jackson did background vocals on this song & Minute by Minute. MJ was always doing background vocals, but he didn't want credits on the albums. He just loved songs & artists & wanted to sing. Check out Michael on Soul Train live. You'll love it.
Please do all of the other songs on the same album, Minute By Minute,..Here To Love You, very gospel, lyrics, awesome, as most all of their songs, Open Your Eyes, Real Love, another amazingly soulful, fantastic band,..I think the deeper the Doobie Brothers rabbit hole you go, the more you'll get hooked,..great musicianship,..Godspeed, Peace ✌
PLEASE DO YES...WONDEROUS STORIES. i GET TEARS IN MY EYES WHEN LISTENING TO THAT SONG. I'D LOVE TO SEE YOUR REACTION. THANKS!
"Takin' It To The Streets" by them is gonna be more your vibe.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You have to listen to the studio recording on this one Shawny
React to Marvin Gaye "It's Too Late "...he wrote this song during his divorce from Barry Gordy sister...check it out ❤
I'ma new fan youngster, but I see that you were raised around good music. It kills me every time the funk, soul, or sick baselines kick in, you start "Giggin", or whatever y'all Gen-Z call it🤣. Seriously though Kenny Thomas "Thinking about your love" is an awesome example of that "UK BLUE EYED SOUL". I think you will enjoy it 👍
I tried to find a translation button to hit but I couldn't find one. Only for foreign languages I guess :)
Can somebody explain the meaning behind this song or what it's about?
Michael McDonald's concept for the lyric was a scenario where two people meet in a restaurant - two people who had a passionate relationship long ago. To the man, the affair was the best thing in his life; to the woman, it was fun, but it was time to move on. In the conversation, the man makes a complete fool of himself. When the woman excuses herself to leave, he doesn't get the message, believing he still has a shot and that their affair was much more meaningful than it actually was. Love makes a man a fool, and even a wise one can't reason it away.
@@MightMouse2174 Yes, it's best to read the lyrics first. Once you read the lyrics, as explained you will clearly understand what he's saying and what the lyrics are about.
Shawnty, what do you think they're talking about in this song?
Nahhh you’re a one and done. Can’t get down to that can’t get down to anything
nod nod nod
2:26 4:50 Sorry you didn't feel the song man. However, some of the songs you liked listening to I took a bathroom break to get jiggy with the toilet handle if you feel me so to each his own.
React new kids on the Bob dirty dog
We need a new platform you tube is not it
Sister pointer was sampling that for" It'so shy!!!!!"
