Help, I just got my Q3 and the lenses have dark rings on the outside of my vision Even when I slightly turn my head while looking at something everything goes darker I have tried adjusting my IPD to no avail 😒
Due to this video, I purchased the BOBOVR M3 Mini. When I first tried it, I didn't love it due to the pressure on my cheeks. Then I remembered you put the BOBOVR battery on the back. I don't have one of those so I purchased an "INIU Portable Charger, Smallest 22.5W 10000mAh Power Bank", and a 60-watt PD cable. I learned about the wattage from a previous video of yours, thank you. This power bank is a little heavier than the BOBOVR's but about the same size. I tied it onto the back with a ribbon, because they are flat. I haven't tried the QM3 while actually using the battery yet, but the counterbalance was AMAZING! This headset is so comfortable! Thank you so much!!!
Would have preferred it be compared to the Kiwi Design strap since Halo and Elite style straps don't really seem to compete with each other as people either prefer one or the other.
True, but honestly it seems like all these Kiwi clones perform almost identically. The biggest difference comes down to price, plus the tightness of the hinge - my particular model doesn't stay up when I flip the headset up.
I have to say, I use my M3 Pro every day and I really like how it holds firmly and doesn't have any loose play whatsoever. It must be a case-by-case situation but I've used a TON of headstraps and the M3 Pro is the most stable by far. Great video my man.
I'm in love with the M3 too! I see a lot of people trying it who just are used to that stock strap making the thing STICK to your face so the M3 feels a bit looser to them I think as it keeps more pressure on your forehead but you can get a good tight fit by pushing the lenses into your face a bit too. That can depend on face shape whether or not you can do that though also.
@@jaybratt Me too! It can reduce a bit of the flip-up-binocular-hinge, but I like to push the rails right up against the USB-C and 3.5mm port. It really gives the ratchet wheel good firm fix on the facial interface and balances the forehead plate. But again case by case; it's as much akin to buying clothing as it is to consumer electronics. So I hope people are as generous sharing their experiences as you are, really informs choice. 👍
Received my m3 mini 2 days ago and love it. I went for it vs other options because I wanted an elite strap that can also charge but have the batteries easily swappable, I don't want to have to get a new strap when the built-in battery fails. I'm so glad that they sell it with the option to mount the battery afterwards, the battery upgrade is sold out for the moment but I can play my Quest with the strap and then order the battery upgrade when it comes back in stock. I will say I did notice that the back piece is slightly narrower than the one Kiwi has (had one for my Quest 2), but I remember when looking up with the Kiwi I would feel the back piece jab in my neck, so I'm glad BoboVR decided to make it narrower.
@@hotarukoyuki2222 Besides the already mentioned jabbing, can't tell, since the Kiwi was on Quest 2 and the Bobo on Quest 3 and I never had them in parallel, I sold the Q2 before getting the Bobo for my Q3.
I didn't expect this strap to have that battery modification!!! This looks like a great alternative to the M3 Pro! I'm loving my M3 Pro but I love that we have 2 great battery strap options now!
Just from an engineering aspect, the suspension style headsets ala Destek and now ZyberVR seem to be the best of both worlds combining the halo pro of comfort and the sturdiness (no wiggle) of the elite straps. Wish they had battery solutions built in though.
I bought this for sim racing. I use a dbox motion sim so I needed the extra support and not have it shaking around. Then I just used a velcro pad on a separate compact battery at the back of it that sits on the plastic.
I love the BOBOVR mini. When properly tied, the head strap really helps removing the pressure on your face and chicks. With the AMVR face interface, it's a super comfy headset now.
Wanna second that on the battery issue. V60 seems to have cleared up any drain issues I had on launch, much more in line with how they used to work on the Quest 2 again.
I already have M3 Pro, but im gonna get this one as well for intense workout games with a ton of jumping around. Still for $80 all together, its cheaper than just one Meta Elite Strap.

Hey, what strap would you recommend for working, where lifting the visor quite often is necessary. I see that you can do it with a mini, but doesn't it fall down with weight? How is it compared to the M3 Pro in that regard?
Definitely gonna get my hands on this, but what silicone facial insert do you use? Trying to get my hands on one that isn’t drop shipped lol, not sure how much longer I can handle the weird foam they use
Which facial interface is recommended to be used with this strap? Would the AMVR Upgraded 3-in-1 PU Leather Facial Interface for Meta Quest 3 (v2)be a good choice?
I got the newer s3 pro not too long ago, and now i find it a bit uncomfortable. Now that ive ordered this, i hope it is more comfortable for me. Its becsude i find the forehead support a but uncomfortable.
The stock interface realy doesn't work for me. Its not the material but the weight distribution. I'm feeling excess inward and downward pressure on the brow ridge. Never had this problem with quest 2. The only headstrap that has allowed me to use the q3 for any extended amount of time isvthe m3.
Oof! Yeah I'm not in love w the stock interface. The silicone helps but I'm really hoping we see some good fan models soon. I AM getting a custom made interface based on my face to test soon too!
@jaybratt sounds cool. I've removed the foam pad from the stock and glued velcro. I now can choose and face pad that has velcro. I've also cut the base portion of the amvr interface to turn it into a pro style mixed reality interface. I've also cut 0.5cm from the fluid 3d print to bring it closer. So far every interface has required modding.
@@jaybratt Completely understandable, I'm just glad I could switch the Battery Dock from my M1 because unfortunately the M2 and M3 give me headaches and I can't spend as much time in them so getting the Elite Style Strap back with the M3 Mini is perfect for me.
@@WeaversWonderfulWorld Modular battery dock was one of Bobo's many great ideas in my opinion! They've set a new standard in so many ways. I hope they keep it up with future products.

The Aubika strap has that built in battery with 8k mAh and it's comfortable. This one has NO battery unless you add one like I did so I'd say the Aubika one right now if you find your battery is ever dying. If there was a battery edition of this Bobo right now though, I'd choose that because the ability to swap batteries is much better than finding out your headset and strap are both dead and then you just can't play
Can anyone comment on whether this is suitable for lying down with head on a pillow to watch movies? Or if there's a good after market strap for that use?
This one will work but really anything with a crank in the back isn't going to be super comfortable. This is much better than most battery straps though. Many people recommend the stock strap for laying down but when I once slept in VR for 10 nights I found the kiwi strap with a travel neck pillow to slot the thick part into was the best for actually sleeping. 10 days in VR: ruclips.net/video/qh03EaXl0lY/видео.html
Nice, thanks Jay. Have to say I'm massively impressed with quest 3 for watching full 3d mkvs through 4xvr. Anyone wanting to dust off those 3d blu rays I can highly recommend
If i'm gonna use my Q3 without the face pad, which head strap would be the best do you think? i dont like having the face pad because you get the "tunnel vision" and the FOV gets worse. I dont mind light leakage at all, in fact i think its better because again it removes the tunnel vision, which i don't think is very immersive.
Hi I had the pico 4 and what I did with the face gasket I trimmed the foam down to shape of my face, so I was closet to the lense, and I covered it with a silicon cover and it worked well, maybe I will try the quest 3 gasket, regards
I'm debating between the BoboVr M3 pro or the m3 Mini I want a headstrap that is firm and won't move around when I play active games but I also am using link cable so can I use link cable with the M3 pro?
@JayBratt do you have any contacts that can explain to us why I don’t see the battery dock upgrade nor the charging base for the swappable battery is being sold anymore. I’ve checked Amazon and their website and no dice
Has anyone done the math on how many BoboVR batteries you need to keep the power hungry Quest 3's battery on level "infinitely"? I have the 5V 2.6A batteries. Considering upgarding from Quest 2, but so far it seems risky.
oof!! I know they had a lot of issues with stock at Amazon and long wait times but I think it would've arrived by now. Did you ever get tracking? Even now they don't show too long of a wait time: amzn.to/3NHrpp7
I go over that a bit at 5:28 but it seems like the batteries are fairing much better after Meta tried to tweak some of the internal settings to fix the Meta Battery Strap itself. You still won't get 3 hours on a single battery but they're holding battery levels and even charging some.
Genuinely, I've felt no need for anything beyond the standard strap on Quest 3, even though I had a BoboVR head strap for my Quest 2, which I totally felt was necessary there. I think these claims of the Quest 3's default strap being completely uncomfortable and useless, etc, are vastly exaggerated. I'd would recommend every new Quest 3 owner play with the standard strap for at least a few days before deciding if they truly think some new strap is needed. And I've never ever thought any third party face cushions were better than the default ones that have come with any Oculus/Meta VR headsets. This whole faux leather stuff that most people go for is utter sweaty crap imo, and I think a case of people truly overthinking things, buying into popular narratives, and creating issues with the originals that don't really exist.
M3 Pro question....please help! Is there a cover I can buy for the part that craddles the top front forehead? Its very comfortable however I am bald and it leaves a wrinkle impression on my skin from the wrinkles on the padding. Any suggestions?
@jaybratt I just got it last week just in time for Asgards Wrath 2 and its allowed me to play for 4 hours at a time comfortably. Just the marks stay on my head for over an hour. Ill try your suggestions. I have to figure out a solution or Im going to be walking around all the time with markings all over my head.
My elite strap with battery stopped working. It connects for a few seconds and then it won't connect anymore. Unfortunately, since I bought it in the US but I live outside of the US it will be nearly impossible to ship it back and get a replacement. It really sucks losing that $120. Is it ok to use an external battery like an Anker? I've heard some use it and it's fine but I've also heard it can damage the Quest battery because it's charging it the same time you are using it. But isn't the elite battery strap just a battery pack as well or are these designed to be compatible with the Quest and won't do damage and battery packs like Anker are not compatible and can damage the battery in the headset?
That is awful! Sorry!! Yeah an Anker pack is fine. Ultimately batteries just wear out over years as we see with our phones but if you have a good battery pack you're not really going to notice that anyway.
Is the bobo m3 pro good for me if I tend to play fast action games like blade and sorcery and competitive gorilla tag I got the bobo m3 pro on order coming soon and I don’t know if I should return it and get another any suggestions what to do?

So the bobo vr mini is better for active gaming such a boxing and games which require ducking dodging?
So thats what those pads i have laying around are for for the m2 on my q2 😂
Does it fit in the meta quest 3 case?
Hey, what strap would you recommend for working, where lifting the visor quite often is necessary. I see that you can do it with a mini, but doesn't it fall down with weight? How is it compared to the M3 Pro in that regard?
Amazon UK doesn't even sell BOBOVR M3 yet, so I guess we will have to wait several months before we even see them :(
I bought the M3 Pro and it's so uncomfortable for my head, and is hard to align to my eye sight. I regret buying it.
Just waiting for the bobovr m3 mini pro with batteries that would be amazing i really can't wait for it
$56 AUD for us Aussies if you're wondering. $5 for shipping.
I got the newer s3 pro not too long ago, and now i find it a bit uncomfortable. Now that ive ordered this, i hope it is more comfortable for me. Its becsude i find the forehead support a but uncomfortable.
I got the Bobo elite strap with battery aweek or 2 ago so idk why u couldn't find it on Amazon.
Do you recommend this or the cheaper Gomrvr headstrap?
Lol, You beat me to the Punch Jay! I'll be releasing video on the M3 Mini on Tuesday. Lol.
Nice!! I had to get this one done quick before Jon heads off to Dubai tomorrow!
@@jaybratt I 100% agree, they produce my favorite headsets and I hope they figure out some kind of grip for the controllers (Though I do like Kiwi Designs as well.)
Can we see a review of the kiwi quest 3 battery strap any time soon?
Yeah, they were supposed to send me one but I think I'm just gonna have to buy it next month after we get back.
@@jaybratt Hi jaybratt, thanks for interesting in our product. We haven't send yet because our influencer coordinator's email didn't get reply. We will send you one as soon as possible to the previous address
I'm not sure if I buy the AUBIKA strap or the M3 mini, what do you recommend? Merry Christmas!
@@jaybratt @jaybratt Thank you
Are you able to do a review on the quest 3 kiwi design battery strap if you haven't already? Loved the video!
Yeah, I mention that near the end. It'll be coming but it might be in a few weeks due to me and Editor Jon's vacations
Wow they mimicked the Binbok strap
@@ThirdEye_oOo I might need to get Beowulf out .. truly one of the best 3d movie experiences I know!
BoboVR M3 Pro/Max or S3. In short, halo straps.
@@peponvatrahedes7392 yeah, ended up with the bobo.. works ok!
The modular battery pack has me sold but I can’t find any in stock that comes with the rear mount tho
Hi Jay, which face gasket is the best for fov, I have Bobo m3 pro, I really want to get close to the lense, regards Phil
I want to know this too... The stock is not close enough with the bobovr m3 pro
Hi I had the pico 4 and what I did with the face gasket I trimmed the foam down to shape of my face, so I was closet to the lense, and I covered it with a silicon cover and it worked well, maybe I will try the quest 3 gasket, regards
I feel I have a fairly important question, which travel cases ditch the quest 3 when the bobovr pro headstrap is attached?
I'm debating between the BoboVr M3 pro or the m3 Mini I want a headstrap that is firm and won't move around when I play active games but I also am using link cable so can I use link cable with the M3 pro?
@JayBratt do you have any contacts that can explain to us why I don’t see the battery dock upgrade nor the charging base for the swappable battery is being sold anymore. I’ve checked Amazon and their website and no dice
Will you do q3 headstraps comparason?
I talk about it back and forth quite a bit in this video. I might do a big Bobo's Vs Kiwi Vs Aubika etc video next year though?
Has anyone done the math on how many BoboVR batteries you need to keep the power hungry Quest 3's battery on level "infinitely"? I have the 5V 2.6A batteries. Considering upgarding from Quest 2, but so far it seems risky.
Definetly very tempying but its £50 in the uk!
Oof!! Without a battery?
@@jaybratt looks like it.
i really wish they made a non battery halo strap
Is there any way to get this to fit the Quest 2?
I ordered my Bogo VR m3 I would say November 19 maybe 18th or 17th one of those I still haven’t gotten it is that normal that’s coming from China
oof!! I know they had a lot of issues with stock at Amazon and long wait times but I think it would've arrived by now. Did you ever get tracking? Even now they don't show too long of a wait time: amzn.to/3NHrpp7
Missed opportunity to call it the m2.5…
hahaha a nice In Betweener!
I clicked the link for the pro, and they state unavailable, and unsure if ever going to be available again.
Really?? It was available when I pulled the link and delivering on Jan 8th!! Must've ran out already ☹️
any updates on a version of the battery strap with a fix for the depletion issues and buzzing?
I go over that a bit at 5:28 but it seems like the batteries are fairing much better after Meta tried to tweak some of the internal settings to fix the Meta Battery Strap itself. You still won't get 3 hours on a single battery but they're holding battery levels and even charging some.
Have you reviewed the BinBok swappable battery headstrap
Is it normal for the M3 pro to make an electric sound when I’m charging it with the battery pack?
I want a new battery version.
I made it happen! @ 4:45
How about batteries that are actually
Made foe the Quest 3? Should be a recall on the f'ing things
I just bought the zeyber vr one because you told me to and now you’re telling me to buy something else should I refund the other one and get this?
Am I able to use this on a quest 2?
Sadly I don't know of any padding that you can swap it with ☹️ maybe if you wear a sweat band or a hat backwards it'll help?
@jaybratt I just got it last week just in time for Asgards Wrath 2 and its allowed me to play for 4 hours at a time comfortably. Just the marks stay on my head for over an hour. Ill try your suggestions. I have to figure out a solution or Im going to be walking around all the time with markings all over my head.
The red marks (red ring) bother me a lot too. 😅
@@jaybratt Thank you, Happy Holidays!
The DESTECH QH3 please and thank u!
YESSSSS but im getting the anapro headstrap dough :(
I have it! Working on the review on it and a ton of other accessories simultaneously!
What about the KKCOBVR Q3 Pro ?
Is the bobo m3 pro good for me if I tend to play fast action games like blade and sorcery and competitive gorilla tag I got the bobo m3 pro on order coming soon and I don’t know if I should return it and get another any suggestions what to do?
Quest3 really needs a good facial interface close to eyeballs..
the m3 battery upgrade is a pre-order item :(
I wear glasses and the 360 head strap is better for me .
360?? I'm gonna have to go look up which one that is!
@@jaybratt not a brand. I like the bobo vr
