- In this video I give an honest 3 year review of my Recteq RT-700 Pellet Grill with smokebox and share the foods we love to grill, cook, and smoke on it. ( we originally made a mistake in this video thinking it was a 1250 and have since learned in the comments by a couple viewers it’s actually a 700 - oops! (they look very similar)

having a smokebox is key. I have the 1250 with the smokebox and use is 2 to 3x weekly. I use mine to smoke cheese, nuts, jerky, fish, as well as a warming rack. Those wheels do suck.

Never seen a 1250 without the front exterior shelf and the second shelf on the inside (which makes it a 1250). That’s a 700 if it doesn’t have a second shelf.

The 1250 didn't exist 3 years ago. Thats a 700, no?
Now, I've had my 700 for about the same time and love it. I use the light still, just pop it out and give it a scrub with a scrubbie pad and soap and pop it back in.
I'm in Canada, so it's dark at 6pm in the winter, so it helps... along with a fashionable headlamp, lol.
Try the smoke box with smoked cheese sometime.
