Great and straight to the point review 👏🏿 I appreciate the focus of a review that’s just about the review minus all the extra talk. Thanks for sharing salute 🫡
I have a 700. It is fantastic. You can’t buy a better pellet smoker than Recteq . I’ve owned Traeger had nothing but problems. Decided to go with a Recteq. So happy with it.
I purchased the RT-700 last year and for all the reasons you stated in your video and more...I will NEVER buy from anyone else...ever. RecTeq has me as a lifer. They even include their owners on the insert with their cell phone. I actually tested it to see if it was true. Sure enough...they picked up and walked me through my issue. Btw....this was on a Friday and support was off. I was having an issue and they walked me through it. It was user error :) But alas...from build quality...to their support....to how well this gets to temp so super fast and how it holds temp....only RecTeq for my and this family. I love your Bible verse by the way. Keep up the great work. Also...what was your cooking temp on your brisket. I want to do one and never have. P.S. Next goal is to get the RecTeq BFG 2500.
Gotta say I love my 700 and bullseye. I’ve had other pellet smokers in the past and the quality wasn’t great. Didn’t hold temp, and the customer service sucked. Dad has the 1250 and can agree it’s badass.
Great video came across while researching grills. Currently running a pitboss but it crapped out on me and have been torn btwn the ReqTeq 1250 and the Masterbuilt gravity 1050. I see you have had both type. What would you recommend?
The Recteq is super easy and built a lot better than the Masterbuilt. The 1050 you can use real wood splits which is sweet. I think right now the RecTeq is by far a better buy for the quality of it. If Masterbuilt stepped up the build quality then it would would come down to ease of use for me and in my experience the RecTeq is easier.
@@TTSBCOBRA I talked to Recteq and they said it is just the cast iron heat deflector is better at absorbing and radiating heat. Faster pellet feed and/or airflow would make sense though.
Mine reqtec stop working after 3 uses . Support can’t figure out the problem which means I’m on my own with this thing. I have a grill that does not function at all, and reqtec won’t do nothing for me. I really regret this purchase. It was a hard choice between a grills and reqtec and I made the wrong choice.
What is going on family, Cribbs here ✌🏽. Just purchased a 1250 to go with my 700 and can't wait to make some videos showing them both off. All Glory to God ✝️
My only complaint about RecTeq is the PID controller. It's pretty much their main marketing ploy and it works against the flavor. A super accurate temperature produces less smoke. That's why other manufacturers are starting to purposefully induce swings like a traditional pit to create better flavor. Other than that, the build quality is excellent.
That is why you will see some people use the lowest temp/smoke setting for a few hours to try and get as much flavor as possible. There is a trade off between flavor and ease of use. The ease of use far out weights the minor flavor difference in my opinion. It’s 100% worth having one if you want to set it and forget it. I’m still a big fan of offsets and other smokers, but this is so easy.
@@shipwreckbbq yeah I hear you. I would disagree on the flavor difference though. It’s more than just minor. Build quality is actually pretty good for a mostly china manufactured grill and their customer service is top notch though. Definitely worth the investment in that price range. Will be selling my RT-590 soon and I’m sure it will go fast.
Yep, I don’t get why they haven’t addressed it by now, it’s such an easy programming issue. You just have two modes and let people pick what they want. One uses the most steady PID algorithm and the other swings up and down 10 degrees or whatever. Grilla does it on their controllers. Recteq is such a great company at hitting all the little details right it’s really stumped me why they haven’t addressed that one. Could be something with their controller manufacturers programming limitations.
Actually, as an ex KCBS competitor and judge, I can tell you that temperature swings work against the chemical reactions and muscle and connective tissue breakdown needed for great bbq. There are other reasons these don’t have a Smokey flavor, but temperature swings are definitely not one of them. Cheers!
I would never by. Recteq again. My buddy talked me into it because I e seen the finished product from them and it was great. So I bought one. I e had nothing but problems since. The computer, probes, auger, igniter and rust. I would never buy one again. I bought the 5 year warranty and I e still had to replace and work on all of those things. It’s supposed to be stainless steel and stainless isn’t supposed to rust out like mine. Well it’s rusted all over. I’m so disappointed that I want to just sell it cheap and buy a traeger and have 100% replacement. Customer service is really good but I’m tired of fixing this thing every time between smokes.
Stainless steel will rust from moisture in the air. Look at the new Tesla trucks that are surface rusting, it’s iron molecules in the moisture that oxidize and form iron oxide. I’m not sure if you got a lemon or perhaps a storm damaged it or some asshole hit it with a hammer in these modern times.
I'm bummed that was your experience. Mine has not been that way at all. If you find one that works for you let me know. I always love seeing whats out there. I had major problems with my Traeger in the past that is why i switched so I totally understand your frustration.
Rec Teq’s are amazing. Holds temperature flawlessly. Great flavor.
Mine holds temp great too

My pleasure
I love my 590, easiest bbqing ever. Pick the right pellet and you’ll love it too.
I agree on the pellet choice. 100% hardwood only!
Absolutely I love my Req Tec grill use it just about 3 times a week. Would recommend this grill for the expert to the novice cooks.
Same. I think I have cooked on mine almost every day since I got mine.
I've had a Recteq 700 for two years, runs flawlessly. I would recommend it.
1250 still going strong years later with no problems

That was my experience too, but I am not antiTraeger. I could have just had a lemon like some peoples experience with recteq's they got.

Did you get the 2500?
I’ve owned four Traeger’s great product but not build quality is lacking. I am interested in buying a Recteq 1250.
That is what this is.
Nothing beats the recteq! I have two of them and about to get a third!
Awesome review and the brisket looked amazing!
Thank you

Truth!🇺🇦🇺🇸🤜
Would they be good for a beginner?
Absolutely
100%
Recipe for the Mac and Cheese 🧀 please!!!! The brisket looked amazing!!! Thanks for posting!!
I made this one up as I went. I’ll do a brisket macncheese video.

Any update on the reqtech and the brisket. Did you get the point from drying out
I think I ave figured out how to keep the point from drying out. I should make a video about that.
That would be helpful
Do you have the Mac n cheese recipe
I can make a video on it.
I always do fat side up even in my recteq
same
How is it in the winter or colder months?
I'm in Florida so I might not be the best judge, but it runs great here all year with no problem.
I had a Traeger for years finally retired it and bought a RecTec. There is no comparison these grills are incredible.
I also had a Traeger at one point. It got me started in the pellet world. Recteq is just all around built better and lasts longer. I agree with you.
You know anything about why the 1250 says it goes up to 700 but the 700 only goes up to 500? Seems like they have the same fire box.
Bigger auger motor
And if you cook bacon in it first then crack it up it can get even hotter…I found out (smh)
@@TTSBCOBRA I talked to Recteq and they said it is just the cast iron heat deflector is better at absorbing and radiating heat. Faster pellet feed and/or airflow would make sense though.
thats a lot of smoke coming out the front. can a gasket fit on it?
I think so.

Thanks!

Recteq baby! New subscriber here!
Thank you
I just dont like the smoke stacks
Let's be honest . . . it's the horns. 🤣
haha
Lack of smoke and ditched mine, get a better brand!
What brand did you get?
Rec Teq = Tank! Stop looking and get it!
It is the best built at this price point that I have found.
RecTeq has a simp army that constantly asks, "Have you considered a RecTeq?" no matter what the question is. This is one of their bots.
You are their bot or me?
God's Blessings awesome!
Same to you!
THEY TOOK AWAY REMOTE START FROM THE APP!!! THE WIFI app is pointless now.
I 100% agree with you. I loved being able to start it from my phone. I wish they would bring it back.

Sounds like you got a lemon. Definitely not in the majority of Recteq users. Go look at how many turds come out of other companies. No comparison.
