Fun fact, my Pixel 5 also didn't fit that great in the controller, and GameSir does state they designed this to work without cases.
Check out the GameSir X3 here, with the full list of compatible phones: bit.ly/gamesirx3mrsu

    • @Mixcraftio
      @Mixcraftio 2 года назад

My phone wasn't in the compatibility list for passthrough charging (there is one at the bottom of the preorder page on gamesir website and on the bottom of the indiegogo campaign) and the first time I plugged a cable in the port of the X3, it didn't charge my phone. However when I used another one, a more powerful one, it did work. So I'm actually thinking it's not linked to the phone but the brick I plug it in.

@@Deeyenen it's a kind of random brick as it was given by my school. It's main purpose was to charge a little laptop so it's still quite powerful.

What do you mean "fit that great"? Was the pixel 5 too big? Too small? Did the charging not work? I'm confused because compared to many other phones it is small and does not have a large camera bump. What exactly is the issue?

    No case: no go
    Non-optional fan: no go
    Noisy switches: no go
Badly calibrated analog sticks: no go
Considering the new kish and backbone with type c for similar price: no go

For me the gamesir x2 is still better than x3. It's awkward and weird when you use it while travelling because of the fan (useless and needs another cable) and the size of the controller itself. In terms of price, X3 is almost doubled compared to X2 so it's not really worth it.

If the fan only works when externally powered then it renders it less useful as a portable device. The lack of analogue triggers is a deal breaker. I do like the case and interchangeable options. But that price! No way. Controllers are still the most marked up area of gaming and have far less tech in them than the price deserves. If this was for an iPhone then things would be different because Apple users prefer spending more for their accessories. With the number of USB-C controllers for phones being very sparse and the ones available having too many shortcomings, there is an obvious space in the market for somebody else to come in with something both better and cheaper. Having a combined USB-C and Bluetooth one would also add to versatility.

The larger/thicker size, smaller USB-C and poorer Joysticks are actually a downgrade from X2. Good Joysticks were one of the selling points of X2. Two years ago, not many telescopic controllers were there that had good Joysticks. I specifically searched for telescopic controllers with good Joystick and Gamesir X2 came up in research and I ordered it. Some of the features here in X3 aren't even needed. Like the changeable D-pad , the Fan and longer sticks. If they could've done without those and added Analog triggers, it would have been a much better upgrade. The X2 is so good! If it ain't broke, why fix it? As far as I know, the only major issue for certain people in that model was the Nintendo Layout.
I would stick with my X2 and probably wait for Gamevice for Android.

The fan is...strange. If it will use the phone battery it would make more sense, but it needs a direct connection via USB C. I don't see much point in changing my X2 since I use it mainly for when I'm not at home, having that fan feature doesn't really have a benefit. In fact, when I'm at home, I prefer to use an Xbox one controller than a handled one, and so it would be easier to attach a fan, if I need it

this is my opinion on these new controllers like the gamesir x3 and the razer kishi v2.I am convinced that they have put the microswitch technology on the buttons and on the directional cross because the microswitches have a high average duration, but once damaged the user will be forced to buy back the controller, if they had left the conductive membranes, which represent the best choice, it would have been enough to replace them, spending a few dollars and the controller would have continued to work for a long time.Crafty these companies! I think that if all the controllers of the nintendo and sony consoles have conductive membranes there is a reason and it's constituted by the fact that the latter return a much better tactile feedback than microswitches! The only serious company, in my opinion, that works very well remains the 8bitdo, which sells all conductive membranes on the site.

This review is sorely lacking a major critique and that is how it actually plays when it comes to games. I mean that is kind of the whole point of the controller. I actually got one of these from the indiegogo campaign and was one of the three lucky people to get the Snowgon and funny enough, I'm actually having a better experience with the Snowgon I think. I'm just enjoying have it cool down my phone as it does help performance and I tossed aside the included joystick. The X3 though feels absolutely fantastic in the hand. Really solid build and a great carrying case. The software though is absolutely atrocious. I bought the controller with more of an intention as using it for games that don't already have controller support and it's just very awkward to use with some games. It took me forever to get the right analog stick setup for touch control on Apex and even though it feels pretty solid in the firing range, as soon as you jump into a match it's terrible. That could be up to aim assist, though I had it off and on and it still felt bad, or it could just be the software which is extremely buggy. Overall I'm torn, on the one hand the X3 feels amazing to clutch. It feels really well thought out and designed, but actually using it is another story.

Don't see the point of the Cooler at all. You can get the exact same effect just by taking a few thermal pads and using them to directly connect your phone to an aluminum case. Or even just a flat piece of copper with a cutout for the cameras. Dramatically increase the thermal mass of the device that way and get several degrees lower temperatures on average. I can't understand people putting fans on their phones.

Why? The wired one is better because there is no input latency. That's the only reason why I got this one over the X2 Bluetooth. The X2 USB C had the face buttons set up like a switch and that doesn't work for basically all other platforms. If you've got an iphone and that's why you want Bluetooth, I'd say just wait till they make one with a lightning connection. Unless there is some other reason you want Bluetooth?
