I have a '94 RM250 and the improvements they made to the clutch on this model are awesome. Mine doesn't push the pressure plate open, it pulls it, lol.
How does it run and ride? I have a 2000 that I’m rebuilding now, motor, suspension, wheels, frame, all body bearings, plastics, graphics, hardware, controls, basically everything. Going to balance the crank, and do some mild porting to get all the sand casting cat shit out of the ports. I heard these years rattle a lot, not sure what to expect. Making a vintage fun bike. I likely won’t compare to my KTM300 but fun nevertheless.
It runs great, should have some video up soon! Weather has held us up for the last few weeks. I don’t notice any more rattling than any other bike. And if your talking about a 300xc or similar non MX bike the RM will run circles around it! Have fun with it!
Its hard to say, do you know if the crank and cylinder are ok? It really depends on the shape of the internals, but if the main stuff is ok. Around 300-400 in parts for new crank bearings and top end with gaskets and water pump if you do it yourself, if not probably 200ish on labor. If crank needs new rod or replaced and cylinder needs re-plated closer to 800-1000 bucks.
