I bought a 1960 Massey Ferguson 95 Super at Auction. It was totally rebuilt and restored. It looked like a brand new tractor. A great, great buy! Auctions can sometimes be a treasure find.
Nice buy! We asked the guys trimming power lines to dump their chips for us to use, got 4 loads from them one summer. We mulched everything! Makes wonderful paths and trails in the woods! Dad broke down and bought an old 1 row corn chopper for $1.00at an auction and stripped all the tin off the front of it. That pig ate a 12" walnut log like it wasn't even there! The old Ford just grunted and squatted at first bite and then proceeded to chew it up!
I've got a MX-8800 and it's a beast. I've used it solid for 3 winters in a row and there's very FEW trees it wouldn't eat. All I can say is WEAR EYE PROTECTION, a face shield if you can. That thing can flip a tree in any direction violently and the first time you get whipped by a branch in the face, you'll wish you had that shield on.
@@CountryViewAcres For the most part, it looks nearly new. You got a killer deal on that! That should lessen the sting from that hay wagon. BTW, one thing I would check is that if you lift it all the way on the 3-point lift, that it's not bottoming out the PTO shaft and compressing it. Mine had to be shortened to fit correctly.....and they have directions for doing that, but mine still ended up wanting to bind up the shaft when I lifted it. There's like a single magical dimension that works perfectly....at least on my Kubota that was the case.
The yellow handle looks like a safety bar that has been installed incorrectly. I'd expect the pushed away position to be what stops it, not pulling it. If it pivoted about the centre rather than the end that would reverse that disabling rod.
You did get a good buy on your chipper. We used a Jinma chipper for many years and it served us well. It was very similar to yours, although yours does have many improvements. That extra set of blades would have cost you over $250 to buy. Be sure to view the CD and read the user manual carefully when it comes time to reverse your original set of blades. Yes, they are reversible. I believe you will find out that the extra bolts you found are mounting bolts for the new blades. They looked hardened. And, if they require hex wrenches, then it is 90% that is what they are for. My wife and I both enjoy your videos. You and Rebecca remind us of ourselves, 30 years ago.
Check and clean out you chute after every use as if your chipping green wood, leaves, etc they tend to plug the chutes up because of the sap, moisture in the material. Dried limbs leaves chip up much easier and goes thru the machine alot better. But you got a great chipper . Those extra bolts may be extra bolts when you change the cutter blade out.
I agree about those bolts, but they could also be shear bolts for the machine. Best that you go through all of the information you have for it Evan, it should be in there what they are for. Very nice looking machine however you look at it.
I misquoted the Brand New Price. A Woodmaxx WM-8M is $2745 plus $250 shipping. So $2995 for a brand new one, Still a pretty good deal to get is lightly used, like new 2017 model for $1265.
What a great deal on the chipper. It look new. Who ever had it took good care of it and I know you will. Another useful addition to the homestead. Thanks for sharing. Congratulations on your new purchase for the homestead.
Looks like you got a good deal on that chipper. That is one thing that would be nice for us to have but we wouldn't use it enough to justify it. It will definitely be well worth it for you. Great video like always. Thanks for sharing.
Those bolts might be for the blades. I worked trimming trees for the city and our chipper required for the bolts to be replaced every time the blades were changed. The blades could be rotate once but weren't supposed to be resharpened. Be sure to read the manual on that.
I'll agree. I own a tree service & I have a 12" Brush Bandit chipper. With the double sided knives, you reuse the bolts when you flip them. You have to use new bolts when you install new knives.
Congratulations to all the winners of your 100K giveaway. Looks like you did good with your bid on the chipper, read and heed the safety instructions on using the chipper, the wood can snag your clothing and you NEED to know how to stop the chipper. Stay safe and have fun working with the equipment you'll like it. Fred.
Hi, Evan that's a nice machine. But please keep your hands away from the inbox. Put an imaginary line on it or paint a red line about 6 to 0 in in and never go beyond it.
Congratulations to all the winners. I know you are going to enjoy your prizes. Great score on the wood chipper. I can see this as being one of the most used machines on the homestead. Have a Blessed day.
Evan, I recommend you to check the manual of that wood chipper. In my opinion it's allowed to chip only fresh wood with max diameter. The dried one should have smaller diameter.
I have the same chipper. I bought mine new and I run it on a Kubota L3000DT. It’s about 30 hp and it does great. I agree with you anything bigger than 5 inches is fire wood. Great video.
I have the previous model of yours. Mine is hydraulic (Woodland mills). I don't chip 8 inch as I burn anything over 4 inches. The extra bolts are for the replacement chipping blades. My chipper is at least 10 years old. I have only replace the blades. In regards to some wood not going in, Check that there isn't a pair of limbs off the main piece of wood. The teeth of the infeed roller will not pull the limb in. You can see it in your video at 9:17. you can see where the infeed roller was stuck, spinning. You can pull it out, cut it off, or lift the infeed roller and push the limb past the roller. cheers Jeffrey
Hey Evan, been a long time subscriber. Love the great content you provide. Never have commented any any videos but I had to on this one. I actually work for Woodmaxx as parts manager for many years now. Great deal you got on the WM-8M
Solid Deal on a Good tool. Works Good. I wouldn’t try to shove that large log you did at the end, that’s how to cause damage and rattle the cutter head loose. Keep it greased and tight. Much needed tool on the farm🚜‼️ Vinny 🇺🇸
As to why it came with so many extra bolts. Chipper blades are held in place by stretch bolts so when you remove the old ones for blade sharpening or replacement with new blades you have to use new strech bolts and make sure you torque them to the correct f/lbs. It will say in the manuel. I am a estate gardener who is trained to use a chipper, on the chipper qualification course here in the England they make a big emphasis on the stretch bolt issue. Great channel by the way, love watching a good old square baler and hay rake work in your hay making videos. Thanks
We have a small farm and need equipment from time to time. My husband participates in online auctions, but only those within driving distance so he can schedule an appointment and look over the item. Has saved him from bidding on items requiring too much work or something that has issues not disclosed.
Congrats on wining the new chipper. The extra bolts that come with the unit are probbly for the extra blades that are with it. You should always use those bolts if the old ones look like they re streched or badly worn.
Looks like you got a pretty good deal, nice buy, I would like to have one myself. We could use chips for our rabbits and chickens, we use the wasted chips around our plants, the manure and urine from the rabbits and chickens makes for a great cover for all the plants and vegetables. Great one Evan, thanks and have a great week.
I bought a WoodMaxx a few years ago. Smaller one for smaller JD750. Mine is the hydraulic with reverse and adjustable speed. These are awesome chippers. Mine was made in Germany. Enjoy your content.
Love you video's and explanations / sharing your views on several subject. Q: Doesn't the chipper have a chain on the PTO cover preventing it from spinning? The shaft should spin and the cover not, it's for protection. And maybe it will stack chips a little better when shooting to the other site (180 degree turn on the shaft), putting the tractor nearer to the compost and facing the tip a little more downwards to prevent the chipping from spreading by the wind. Seems like you treated yourself with quite a deal/steal 🙂
The feed roller is the difference between tiring homeowner types of chippers and units for professional use. When you're paying employees or charging customers it makes all the difference. Good buy !
That’s sweet. Great addition to the farm. I’ve been following the online auctions too. I pretty conservative in my bidding but it can be fun. You need to be careful about the location because some are too far away.
I am going to tell you a story that is true, I got a 3/8 driver rachet and socket set for 20.00 dollars on a sale now I have many 3/8 and 1.2 rachets in my toolbox but I always go back to that set I got for 20.00 dollars I have put 4-foot cheat bars on the rachet and it still works great today as the day I bought it and to this day I don't know who made it but out all the tools I own the ones I got on the deal are my best tools and I use them all the time because they work so who cares who made if it work for you and ideas the job it was worth it
good found evan. i have a 5 inch model for chipping brunches etc. is super useful machine and chip you can use anywhere, i even try to burn them in fire place between normal fire wood, and it works like a charm.
I have the same model, had it for about 3 years, it has a tack and hour meter. I have about 70 hr on it. The only items I have problems with are compressible items like bamboo or tobacco stalks. Crooked limbs are also a challenge. Dry or green it does a good job. I use the chips around the farm also. I love it.
Hello Evan congratulations to the winners. Looks like your chipper works great. I could see some of the bolts where for the blades I'm thinking it has 2. You should check them a dull blade does not work good. I have a Vermeer bc700xL it's the Cadillac of wood chippers works awesome. Nice buy you purchased have a great night.
@Betty Pearson. I give you huge kudos for doing what you already do! Wow! More fathers need to teach their daughters how to do these things. I can change a tire myself. Most women don’t. I’m not a farmer but not helpless. Keep going! You’re amazing!
Took me a long time to talk myself into buying mine same woodmaxx brand almost the same model and mine has been great. Green wood goes through a lot easier than dry stuff
Looks great ;You have a machine that is going to life a lot easier and nicer working the landscape ! All the wood chips ,if you chip them into the area that you want to thin out it should help keep some of the weeds down and moisture in the summer heat . As it breaks down so also let help the trees grow nicer . You got a very very good deal !
I have bought a couple off brand attachments for my loader like a snow pusher and a 4 in 1 bucket for a cheaper price and haven't regretted it yet I would say your wood chipper is definitely a win and I need to find a deal like that I have over half the yard loaded with logs and brush that need cut and split and chipped plus getting a large maple tree in a tight area cut Saturday if everything goes as planned so going to have a lot of brush from that
The taper head screws are for the knives, I added two gas struts to add more down pressure to the In feed. Makes really fine chips good for the garden, be careful chipping nh big stuff if you got the hp it will smoke the belts
Looks like you bought a decent and extremely useful piece of kit, the wood chips created will be very useful around the farm, and go to better use than being dumped on the burn pile.
Oh my gosh Evan ! What a sweet find and deal on that wood chipper ! You just couldn't resist feeding that maple into it ! Lololol...a new tool toy ! We lovvvvve wood chips too! My husband envies our Amish friends with sawmills, their piles of wood chips ! 🤣 looking forward to seeing you using it more ! Keep on chipping ! 👍 you lucky dog ! 🙃
Nice purchase 👌 👍🏻 👏 just remember and lift the support leg under the feed hopper when your moving it about. As it will slacken off the bolts around the hopper if it's put down on high ground etc so lower it before you start using it. Just a wee tip if it's not in the manual 😉. Cracking video also. Not jealous 😁. Stay safe 🏴
I bought a 1960 Massey Ferguson 95 Super at Auction. It was totally rebuilt and restored. It looked like a brand new tractor. A great, great buy! Auctions can sometimes be a treasure find.
I’m impressed that thing handles a log that big. Looks like you made a good score.
Nice buy! We asked the guys trimming power lines to dump their chips for us to use, got 4 loads from them one summer. We mulched everything! Makes wonderful paths and trails in the woods!

Good buy Evan. Certainly useful on the farm. Reminds me of Fargo ND and the bad guy trying to run the dead guy thru the chipper
Once I bought a dust collector at a garage sale, brand new never used for $100. Congratulations to all the winners!
I've got a MX-8800 and it's a beast. I've used it solid for 3 winters in a row and there's very FEW trees it wouldn't eat. All I can say is WEAR EYE PROTECTION, a face shield if you can. The hour meter was not working on this one. So I couldn't tell how many hours were originally on it. But I don't think it was very many.

I’m having a country view acres marathon tonight keep up the good work Evan
That's one of your nicer purchases! And the TYM seemed to handle it fine as well
Those bolts might be for the blades. I worked trimming trees for the city and our chipper required for the bolts to be replaced every time the blades were changed. The blades could be rotate once but weren't supposed to be resharpened. Be sure to read the manual on that.

Most large (>5") chippers require a bolt change with every blade change....and be sure you torque them properly.
Evan oh I love that machine and it's powerful

Great purchase Evan! That'll be a work horse for ya when you need it. Congrats to all the winners! Keep the videos coming! God Bless!
Nice find, the chips seem to be fine in size which will make for fast compost.
I have one Evan, use the new bolts when you change blades, you’re going to love making your own mulch.
About time somebody sold you something you didn't have to completely rebuild before you could use it.
Great score on your part! Surprised to hear you say maple is not good for burning...we consider it a hardwood and use it in our stove all the time!
Nice buy! Like you said you just don't know till you try it out. Looks like a good one! Congrats on the 100K!
Love your channel. So relaxing to watch
I don’t think I’m the only one having chipper envy…great find….
Very satisfying to see the chipper working. That was a good buy!
Thanks Pete! It will come in handy clearing low hanging limbs around the hat field.
Wood Chips will always make good compost for enchantment to the garden and food lots.
If you have ever had any thing to do with wood chipper the extra bolts might be for the blades
I have the same chipper. I bought mine new and I run it on a Kubota L3000DT. It’s about 30 hp and it does great. I agree with you anything bigger than 5 inches is fire wood. Great video.
The flat top bolts are for the blade attachment
Came for the log. Stayed for the chipping.

That's an impressive purchase. I have a pile of branches that would keep that busy for a couple hours LOL.

$1100? Wow, I'm envious now!!!!! You see another one, you give me a holler!!!!
The bolts may be for the chipper blades. Many times those bolts are a torque to yield bolt and therefore a one time use only
As to why it came with so many extra bolts. Good job...Chipper looks good and what a good deal you got....!!!!
You can use the wood chipper to grind corn and make small batches of corn silage, or haylage and even bedding for animals
WOW Evan very nice deal! Very Handy! Love watching!
Evan, the Wood Max is a good brand and I think you got a good deal on the wood chipper.
Awesome buy. Makes me think of the movie Fargo.😉
Love your channel.
Evan, you could fit a tow ball to the frame of the chipper and tow a trailer behind with all the offcuts you need to chip chip chip away.
It’s a great piece of kit. Finally using the tractor for what it’s worth.
Another new toy for Evan, good one this time mate. NO REPAIRS
That’s cool, I haven’t seen one that works on the back of a tractor like that. Awesome
I absolutely love my wood chipper. Have had a Woodland Mills 8” model for the last 3 years and have put hundreds of hours on it. Game changer!
Congrats on wining the new chipper. The extra bolts that come with the unit are probbly for the extra blades that are with it. You should always use those bolts if the old ones look like they re streched or badly worn.

Suggestion, park right in front of your compost bin then aim the ejector straight in. Less to no clean up at all.
Love you video's and explanations / sharing your views on several subject. Q: Doesn't the chipper have a chain on the PTO cover preventing it from spinning? Great addition to your farm!
One thing I have to ask....in what universe is maple "not good firewood"?😳
Most maple is soft maple. Its fine but as far as good goes, oak, locust, sugar maple etc. Are all superior
Looks like you got a great deal. Works better than I expected it to.
The feed roller is the difference between tiring homeowner types of chippers and units for professional use. When you're paying employees or charging customers it makes all the difference. Good buy !
Spare bolts are for the blades, they recommend changing them with the blades. Nice score!
On the thumbnail that log looked huge! Good buy, very useful.
That’s sweet. Great addition to the farm. I’ve been following the online auctions too. I pretty conservative in my bidding but it can be fun. You need to be careful about the location because some are too far away.
I have that same exact model, I love it! It amazes me what it can handle.
Good afternoon guys, you got one great deal, thank you for taking us along. Steve from N.B Canada
I bought that same model new a couple years ago. It's been a huge help around the farm, and with my tree business.
Well done on winning the chipper auction got a good deal there. Ralph from Wales UK.
Holy carp, that was a big piece. I have a much smaller one, so the burn pile wins 90% of the time.
And we have a winner there. As you learn all it's characteristics it will be fine. Good job.😀
I am going to tell you a story that is true, I got a 3/8 driver rachet and socket set for 20.00 dollars on a sale now I have many 3/8 and 1.2 rachets in my toolbox but I always go back to that set I got for 20.00 dollars I have put 4-foot cheat bars on the rachet and it still works great today as the day I bought it and to this day I don't know who made it but out all the tools I own the ones I got on the deal are my best tools and I use them all the time because they work so who cares who made if it work for you and ideas the job it was worth it
Eliminates a LOT of your burn pile use, AND, the added benefit of composting it. Great buy.
Ok, I am impressed. The limbs I could see the log wow. That thing is a unit, great find!
I think I would have parked the chipper closer to the bins, tilted the shute to negate the wind blowing the chips around.
By the way, an extra set of bolts came with the spare blades I bought. That might be what your loose bolts are for.
good found evan. i have a 5 inch model for chipping brunches etc. is super useful machine and chip you can use anywhere, i even try to burn them in fire place between normal fire wood, and it works like a charm.
I would have lost that bet. That chipper is a beast!
Good win on that chipper. I'm a big fan of gadgets.
Wow what a great deal there evan now there's a peace of machinerie you don't half to work on and it even works great.
Nice machine brother 🤙 happy for ya. I’m excited to see you put it to work. Take care
I love it.
great find. Good patience and searching for what you need.
Good find. Sometimes life hands you just what you need. Nice addition to the other attachments.
I use Illinois hibid all the time. Lots of great deals
Awesome Find!! That will definitely be helpful on your property!! God Bless and have a Great Week!! ⚘😊❤
@Betty Pearson. I give you huge kudos for doing what you already do! Wow! More fathers need to teach their daughters how to do these things. I can change a tire myself. Most women don’t. I’m not a farmer but not helpless. Keep going! You’re amazing!
wood chips also make for a great fire starter when dry and they dry very quickly
You got a very very good deal !
it looks like there's a lot of adjustment left on the spring tension that pulls the feed roller down.
I like those chips. Good fire starters for your firepit or add to your animals bedding, flower bed or garden.
This will make your life so much easier!
What up with your right eye? Wood chippers SCREAM safety glasses.
Love your channel!!!
Looks like you bought a decent and extremely useful piece of kit, the wood chips created will be very useful around the farm, and go to better use than being dumped on the burn pile.
You,ve actually brought something at online auction that you didn't have to repair congrats🤗🐶
