I'm really impressed with the way that Woodland Mills packs all of their products for shipping. They go above and beyond with all of the metal reinforcement.
Hey Sandy, glad to see your channel getting the recognition that it deserves, you are certainly a brand ambassador for Woodland Mills they have a fantastic product and you showcase it well, I am sure that this video will create lots of inquiries for Woodland Mills I have noticed a lot of other channels reference your channel about Woodland Mills products, Keep up the good work and keep the vids coming.
I went to Woodland Mills web site and chatted about an extension track for my sawmill, and mentioned Sandy, it did not get me a discount but they were overjoyed that I watch his channel and the company name is always fresh in my mind.
@benscoles5085 thanks for passing along my name to them down at Woodland Mills. They are great folks every time I talk to them as well. Friendly and down-to-earth.
Seen your recent purchase and video. Last year I purchased a wm8h woodmax chipper. Going from a DR chipper to a fully hydraulic chipper is night and day difference. Cleans up my small tree farm easily. As always, great video channel. Thank you!
With 200 acres of pine to clear for pasture over the rest of my life, I am about to order the Woodland Mills trifecta: HM130Max Sawmill, WG28 Pro Stump Grinder and now the TF810 Pro Chipper. Many of your videos have influenced me and I know Woodland Mills is a great Company with stellar products, all value priced. I'll tell cousin Josh at Woodland that I watched this video, ha.
Hey James! That's a good trifecta right there. Way back in 2017 or 2018 I did double duty much like you but I bought the HM130, WC68 Wood chipper. Have been very happy with everything
Hi Sandy! I missed this video when you posted it! I had a WC68 that I liked except for throwing distance. This dual flywheel seems to do well on this one. I've also had clogging issues on the WC68 and not sure how long the thin metal from the infeed on the WC68 is gonna last but for price paid it's a good workhorse.
@@sawingwithsandy I do not disagree about that. I've just watched you have to fight the larger slabs at times and thought you could use a bigger chipper.
Sandy Great review ! They have some good products for sure :) It ate up them slabs pretty quick & nice it can handle some good sized wood as long as the tractor will handle it ! them chips will keep your feet dry lol,
I bought the wc88 in November. Absolutely love it. One piece flywheel spins 1080 rpm. I run a 8" oak log through it and my 55 hp tractor barley grunted.
I recently purchased the WC68 model like your old one. The 810 definitely spits out the chips! Looks like the chips might be a little more uniform too. I wonder now if I should have saved up some more to get that one. I can say, though, that I am very happy with the WC68 model.
@@sawingwithsandy Your videos with it are a part of what convinced me to buy it instead of the other competitors. It is a robust quality build and does a great job for sure.
My goodness, would you check out that beast! I'm impressed! My experience with wood chippers is they get jammed up with sticks because the opening is too narrow or the chips don't shoot out far enough so they get bound up in the chipper. I see neither of these problems and that means a great implement in my book! Fantastic! 👍👍👍
Hey Jill! Yeah this unit I like with the wider opening and size that second flywheel is spinning so fast I'm guessing the chips are out of the cutting flywheel in a blink
Hey Sandy, The new chipper looks like great piece of kit! I have a WC 68 the same as you & I've found that if you keep an eye on the chips coming out & they start to slow down when feeding it, I have a weed blower handy to put down the chute which stirs the stuck chips up & away you go...... It seems Woodland Mills have fixed that with the twin flywheel. 😃👍
Well, that's a beast!! Wish my tractor would handle something that large... mine is a Deere 3025E with only 25HP. You are going to have fun with that one Sandy.
I would love to have one of those but being retired from an on duty injury as a police officer im afraid that is just out of my budget. I'm positive it's worth every penny they ask for them though. Another great video sandy.
Anyone run one on a smaller tractor? I’ve got a Mahindra 1640 which is rated like 28hp at the pto and was wondering if it’ll handle this chipper as long as I’m running primarily smaller pine and such. Wanna get this model in case I ever go bigger but wanna make sure my tractor will run it
I have a WC68 as well and I find that it cannot handle the larger examples of our Australian hardwoods if they are dry. The blade arrangement on this one would answer that problem for sure. Lovely! When you get bored with this one Sandy, post it to me please🤪
I've heard the Australian hardwoods is very dense compared to some of the hardwoods I may be used to. I can imagine any machine operating there gets put through a test!
I have had the WC88 for years and use it constantly and loan it out also. No issues with it except for the occasional clog with wet twigs and coniferous trees. This should be an improvement. If I can sell mine I'll trade up.
Hi Walter, I"ll be sure to have ongoing videos showing this unit so you can compare to see if you notice any different performance with this and your WC88.
I considered a 3 point hitch chipper but didn't want to run up the hours on the tractor for chipping. I opted for the DK2 unit that has DOT approved tires that can be towed over the road up to 40 MPH and does up to 6 inch sticks. I tow it behind my John Deere Gator 6x4 so I can load other tools in the bed of the Gator when chipping.
I am assembling my new wc88 today. I looked hard at the 810, but I thought it looked like too many moving parts to me. I don't remember ever seeing anything bad about the 88, and it seems like a proven design. I might be wrong, but I think I'm going to be very happy with the 88. I do wish the infeed chute sloped down into the chipper wheel like the 810, but other than that, I like what I'm seeing with the construction of the 88.
Makes short work of the flitches and "too small" logs. Great assembly video - at first I thought the TF810 panels were upside down - until you lowered the input chute into position..
Sandy seemed like a pretty easy setup from woodland mills I sure could use one of those for my sawmill slabs and debris i have all over my property. thanks for Vid on setting it up and how easy it is to operate.
I would like to see how it does on the pine limbs when they are full of needles. It would be interesting to see if this new system resolves the clogging chute problems of the WC's.
Sandy, I'll say it again, you're having way too much fun! IF... I were living on the ranch, based upon what I just saw, I AM IMPRESSED. If I were in the market for one, I would give this chipper serious consideration. Now it's time to make more slabwood, which means it's time to saw some lumber, which means, it's time to build something.... Take care, and enjoy your new toy!
Good afternoon Sandy I was glad to hear when you said you where going to different place in your trail to chip some in the wet hole you got here and there in your trail. It defenatly throw the chips out faster and farther seam so far the tractor had no problem with it . I know you will put it to good use . By the way I would suggest not to stand straight in the back because I did see some piece fly back word and quite fast on other chippers so be carefull have a great day
I have the wc68 also, and I love it. That new tf810 seems to work very well too, but it looks like it sits lower? not sure if I would like that part. great video
You're 68 chipper does a very fine job, but I do believe this one will out do It definitely blows chips much further. And woodland Mills products are very good and seem to be getting even better
Looking at this chipper to help thinking our woodlot. We have a ton of lodgepole pine to thin and would need to chip green trees up to 5 inch diameter. Would love to see how this would manage chipping trees like that.
another thank you. sometimes i think youtubers are all condescending master mechanics... you allowed us to see an adjustable crescent wrench and nuts falling to the ground., etc.. love your videos. they were instrumental in me ordering a 130 max.
Very Nice Machine. Glad you were selected to demo the new chipper. When I talked with Woodland Mills they held you in high regard. I wonder if the chipper blades are the same size as the WC 68 just more of them. Work it hard show us what it can do! Cheers! John
Hi John. That's great to hear they said good things about me. I"ll be sure to make some comparison videos between this unit and the WC68 to see if the blades are the same size.
For those of us with smaller areas and lower power tractors, I would love to see you compare this bad boy to say the Woodland Mills WC68 6" PTO Wood Chipper
Hi Sandy, on my last trip to WM showroom I saw the new twin flywheel and I was very upset. As an owner of a wc88 that I bought less than a year ago, that I bought thinking go big or go home (it runs on the back of a 75 HP tractor) then they came out with this, yes i did ask they wouldn't take the wc 88 on trade! That's ok, I actually don't do crazy amounts of chipping and my WC88 is still an awesome machine. With the Emerald Ash Borer killing all my trees I am frequently feeding whole dead 6" ash trees into it and they are quickly converted to trail bedding.
Hey Keith! That Emerald Ash Borer sure is causing some destruction. I don't have many ash here on my property but I do know of others who are having all their ash wiped right out.
Hey, Sandy. Love your channel. I always learn something new. I was wondering how fine the output of the chipper is. Whether it would produce fine enough chips to feed into a wood pellet mill to make pellets for a pellet stove. I have a sawmill and plan to use the sawdust to make wood pellets, but, of course, I also have lots of flitches and other trimmings I'd like to be able to feed into the pellet mill. Don't t know whether you can shed light on this, but thought I'd ask. Best of luck to you with your new "toy."
That's a good question Curtis. I"ll be sure to get a good close up of the Woodchips next time around to help with that. I'm not too sure as it is coarse at times but I wonder if it would still work for the pellet stove you mention.
Nice piece of equipment. It doesn't surprise me though as Woodland Mills seems to really care about what it produces. I think a possible add-on for this would be for Woodland Mills to have a way to adjust the chute direction remotely from the where the wood is fed into it even if just a control linkage like a snowblower has....should not be too hard to do and could be a possible accessory that could be purchased. Maybe you could mention this to Woodland if you agree.
Great job, Sandy. Let us know when you get into the bigger stuff. A couple with the same machine were breaking shear bolts, a lot of them. Just wondering how is it going with you? One other question How much does the flywheel weigh?
I’m wondering if they got a bad batch of shear pins and/or were engaging the pto at high rpm causing a large shear force to break weakened shear pins. I’ll be sure to keep an eye on that though. I’ll keep ya updated if I notice the same thing happening
Great vid! I’m up In Northern Ontario. What Hp tractor are u running? I have a Kubota L4060, 40 HP. Would this model chipper be the right one for me? Thanks 👍
Thanks Andrew! I'm running a 40hp tractor and the tractor does a great job with that size chipper. I don't think there would be an issue unless you're chipping at the maximum size and it's really dense hardwood but even then you could always just slow down the infeed speed
Hi Sandy. I love your videos. I have a Kioti tractor as well. I have 33hp at the PTO on mine which seems to be slightly more than your tractor. Do you feel the PTO HP is any issue for you using this model vs. the 68 you have?
Good question John. I haven't had much time on the new wood chipper yet but from my first use I didn't seem to sense the tractor struggling at all with the pine I was chipping. I"ll be sure to update everyone as I get a bit more use out of the chipper
@@sawingwithsandy Thank you. I ask everyone that has a WC68 as my old Ford ('53 Jubilee has maybe 25-30) is not new and showing what that amazing chipper can do without knowing HP doesn't really tell the full story. I like your channel and its everyday struggles. However every time I see people using adjustable wrench it throws me off. Buying mostly used equipment I have had enough rounded nuts and bolts. It's so easy especially in North America where 1/2 or 9/16 inch decent wrench can take 80% machinery apart.
The realty of living out in the woods with all the land and equipment I have is I often have field repairs with various tools at various locations so sometimes I have to make do to get the equipment back up and running

I haven’t chipped leaves specifically but I believe it’s more for chipping brush with some wood instead of straight leaves
I’m not too sure on the flywheel weight
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼
Hey Mike! Thank you for all your support
The twin fly wheels throw those chips SOOOO FAR! Awesome Chipper! I need one! 😃👊
I'm liking it so far for sure with the twin flywheels
Come now Sandy, bigger is ALWAYS better!
I think you're right!
That was impressive, about how long was actual setup?
Good question. It took me a few hours to unbox and fully assemble I'd say. Maybe 2-3 hours in total
@@sawingwithsandy Thank you for the info, not that I am likely to ever need one.
What hp does your kioti tractor have at the pto?
32hp at pto
@@sawingwithsandythanks for the reply! Very helpful 👍
@@sawingwithsandystill happy with it….any issues?!
Hello Sandy, its a beast for sure👏🪵🇺🇸
Sure seems like it will be a big help around here
What is your pto horsepower? I expect mine next week. Thanks for the video.
Hi Chad. PTO hp is about 32hp
Sweet, that thing eats debris pretty damn nice.
Sure takes care of the slab wood pile in a hurry
What HP is your PTO you use with your WC68? I only have 22 PTO HP and am wondering if it will work well for me.
32hp at pto
@@sawingwithsandy Thank you. I ask everyone that has a WC68 as my old Ford ('53 Jubilee has maybe 25-30) is not new and showing what that amazing chipper can do without knowing HP doesn't really tell the full story. I have one in my 'cart" along with the chainsaw holder and trailer hitch. Do they ever offer any discounts? I really like all your forest RUclipss. Thank You!
👍
Thanks Paul
What is the pto hp? Your tractor appears to be the same size as mine, just wondering how you're running the chipper
Hi Nadine, on my tractor PTO hp is 32hp
@@sawingwithsandy Thanks for the quick reply! My husband is in love with your whole setup. You're the reason we have our tractor and our sawmill! You're living his dream life, apparently! HAHAH :)
@thepetersfamily6323 I appreciate all your and your husbands support!
and I thought that you were done buying toys for awhile , boy was I wrong lol
Hey Ken! I actually have some other surprises coming right up you'll have to tune in for. I don't think things will ever stop haha. To be fair though, this wood chipper was given to me
@@sawingwithsandy I won't be able to give you any smart remarks for the next week or so going on a 8 day cruise but I'll be back ha ha
Enjoy the vacation Ken! I'll keep the blackflies busy while you're away!
Wow, it's a bigger similar job.
Thanks for checking out the video Mark
👍👍👍💙💛❤Buna SANDY ! 💙💛❤👍👍👍
Thank you!
Hi Sandy you are a dealer for woodland
Nothing for sale here however
I do have a wide array of Woodland Mills equipment though that's for sure
If that is how poorly it handles small plane slabs- good luck with larger oak limbs!
I'm not sure what ya what ya mean as I thought it did great
I like your channel and its everyday struggles.
Man, you get all the toys. Making hog fuel.
Hey John! Sure am fortunate to get this thing for my place
"A" I don't read Canadian you know . But are all the words upside down cuz you're at the top of the continent . Them flat earthers man they don't get it do they . If you can see the world upside down from a sphere angle I guess the words would be upside down😂. Canada were beavers go to Central America to get relaxation because them boys have got their wood chippers out and how the beaver going to damn up a river with sawdust. Canada don't pee in the woods you might get a wood chipper
Thanks for coming along for the video
very nice Sandy
Thanks Rodney. Have a great afternoon!
I would like to know how it works on leaves
It’s not going to work at all on leaves…Not what it’s made for…Unless the leaves are still attached to the branch
