  • The Columbus Blue Jackets capped a stunning sweep of the Presidents Trophy winners with a 7-3 victory Tuesday night. Tampa Bay became the first team in the expansion era, which began in 1967-68, to go winless in the first round of the playoffs after leading the league in points during the regular season.

      Right Coast Torts took Tampa as far as they could go and they had nothing left to prove. Sadly, sometimes he expects more from people than they either have to give or want to give or BELIEVE they can give. He does tend to arrive with a Best Before Date and operate well within that window. However, with the millennials abounding in our society, it’s hard to get a whole team on-board with adopting a warrior mentality at the same time and for the same purpose ... he may not be the easiest coach to play for but you have to respect the commitment and performance he got out of some players who had latent greatness and whom he managed to help them manifest their true ability.

    • @rightcoast7049
      @rightcoast7049 5 лет назад +1

      @@glenholmgren1218 He's one of my favorite coaches. I'm sure it isn't easy to play for him, but his way works. It's proven. I agree, it has to be tough to get everyone on board. But you can see when they do, like Columbus, it becomes a powerhouse team. Tampa went in thinking they could breeze through. That's what got them. They had no fight in them.

      Lots of passion and experience and can in-game adapt the life out of another team ...given a team with at least some level of talent, grit, drive and maturity.
      Does anyone even think Cooper understands how underwhelming his influence has been - most talent-laden team in the whole world right now but couldn’t generate the desire to dominate and impose their will.

    dont think he heard the last part of the question, but wanted torts to clarify if it was home fans or tampa fans that poured beers on him. gotta check the highlites, hopefully can catch it...guessing it was home fans, cuz if it was tampa fans torts probably wouldve been pissed off/fired up when he mentioned it, followed by a story of almost fighting a fan or havin a tampa fan kicked out by ushers. great story for cbj fans and city, happy for them. historic 2019 first round. thats playoff hockey and what hockey dreams are made of. the "kids" in the dressing room celebrating this one...indeed.
    and all this from a leafs fan :)))) see u in the next round cbj for an equally epic series of storylines...

    I have to say, I have a plate of crow in front of me. I did not think that the Blue Jackets would be the team being swept but I did not think they would take the series. Sweep the series? I'm still not sure I did not dream that. Now, back to my plate of crow.

    Depending on how far they go and how they play to get there, Bob and Bread may seriously think about signing back on. And why not?

    The presidents trophy seems to be a curse. Blue jackets have been in playoff mode for over a month. Tampa has been coasting without desperation for half a season. I’m a pens fan and have witnessed it a lot over the years. You need to be battle tested coming into the playoffs. The islanders beat the pens in every possible way you could mention. As did the BJs. I would love to see the match up!!!

    Biggest choke in NHL playoff history. You would think they would win at
    least 1 game in 4 tries. Truly a embarrassment. The management team went
    on twitter after the game to apologize to their fans. Does Cooper lose
    his job over this. The team fell apart after they were leading 3 to 0 in
    the first game. One has to wonder if this teams has any heart or pride
    at all.

    quite a diff in this torts compared to when he was coaching the rangers lol... wait till next year when expectations will likely change for this team. what a difference though. torts deserves to be happy after coaching the rangers lol i think he went through hell there even though that was some time ago.
