- By default, Audyssey attempts to correct frequencies from 20Hz to 20,000Hz. But what if we told Audyssey not to correct above a certain frequency? Could it improve the sound quality in your home theater?

Thank you, it felt like all the highs were muffled but now, sound is so clear and foward
I’m glad you found the video helpful
Please do more videos about the Audyssey App and it's features ;)
Thanks, I finally have my system dialed in to my liking!!! Appreciate youthman, Joe n tell, techno dad, audioholics, and everyone else I may have missed. From choosing speakers, to my reciever, to placement, and calibration all you guys were and still are a great help!!!
This is pretty cool. Although paying so much money for the Marantz Receiver, I can't help but find it a rip off to then pay EXTRA money for an app on my phone to further fine tune sound settings. Definitely not something we had to worry about with our pre-WIFI receivers.
they know if you paid 2k-4k for the AVR you can pay $20 for the app :) easy upsell. they (everyone) always leaves something off that you want...like a lighted remote for the TV to upsell that :)
This just made me smile all over again. This set up is a night and day difference. Thanks Michael and Joe...
Run a new full calibration on my 7015...set the new curtain at 400 htz, turned midrange compensation off on all speakers. Updated my personal settings. I havent had time to play with this yet, but my first thoughts are, it doesn't have have a harshness that without the curtain has..its a smooth detailed presentation. Will do comparisons but I like what I hear. I knew nothing about this so thanks @youthman...really appreciated 🙏
I've had Audyssey on/off enough times to buy a new house. A friend of mine is a professional in the A/V business. He told me many years ago that you can measure and calibrate anything to certain software/hardware specs - but in the end you have to satisfy your ears, and that's what matters most. I have the Denon 3700H and on the remote there are 4 buttons for sound mode. One of them is Pure mode and that is what I now use for watching tv. Regardless of any software approaches they are all designed to imitate a natural product - how the brain perceives and 'decodes' sound. And that sound is analog; and all the software/hardware tricks trying to 'digitize' that will never succeed. Calibration software makes a lot of grand assumptions and measurements (while technically correct) could be spot on. The justification phrase being, "It measures well." However, how does that sound to one's ears? One last point is that movie sound is always relative to the sound design and engineer who mixed it - hence the voluminous complaints of garbled center channel dialog - when in fact it has nothing to do with the speaker, but in how the center channel was originally mixed. I usually have my center channel increased to +3.0.
Wow! I haven't had this much fun making changes to my setup and hearing results immediately. Thank you for all the many tutorials over the past few years since starting your channel. I have learned so much but this one was Fun.
That’s great to hear Dennis! I’ve got some exciting things I’ll be announcing in the near future
Thank you for making this video. I’ve had the Audyssey app for 3 years and never knew how to make any adjustments. This is so easy.
Michael, you are AWESOME 👏 . I have done some testing and so far I like how it sounds. A bit more clarity and natural sound. GOD bless you!!!
Glad it made a difference in your setup too!
What did you end up setting ur curtain too? Caesar
I want to say thank you. I have my highs and my dialog clarity
Back!!! My hearing isn’t as sensitive to higher frequencies like they were 10 years ago. This is nice - now I’m enjoying my sound again !!!!!
What I like about your videos are that you are very informative and humble about your knowledge. Unlike other people that shall remain nameless that toots their own horn at times.
Thank you kindly. I just know that I don’t know at all and I’m continually learning. Have a blessed weekend
Great video youthman! I read about this tweak a few weeks ago and tried it.i turned off midrange comp and limited audessey correction to 500hz and my system sounded much better with a smoother top end that wasn't harsh like before.
Great video on explanation. I ended up purchasing the app, and WOW, what a difference it makes adjusting the "curtain" to limit the higher frequencies!!! Thanks @Youthman
Glad to help
Good video however I would caution those with heavily treated listening/ theater rooms (such as mine) . In my room all walls and ceiling are 2 layers of 5/8” acoustic drywall with heavy “Safe and Sound “ insulation behind drywall. The acoustics are not optimal at all although the room is extremely quiet and relatively “sound proof”. I also put up acoustic panels on all walls and a few ceiling treatments to handle reflections.
Using room correction on the upper frequencies is now a must to bring the life, detail and air back to the high end. Without it things are dull and rolled off. Experiment is my suggestion :) Thanks for your videos....always enjoyable to watch.
So are you saying because your room is heavily treated, one shouldn't roll back the frequency Hz??
Glad you were able to try it! Nice shirt btw!
Thanks Joe. Appreciate the tip! Also the shirt is SUPER comfy
I just did it and it does help, but i tried it with midrange compensation on and still didn't like it much. Now i'm trying it with 500hz curtain AND midrange compensation off. Much better! There is just something magical about turning MRC off!
Will do difference if only using the AVR hence I have no DAP, processor or amplifier.
It sounds even better with audyssey off completely. I’ve been testing a denon 4500 vs pioneer elite 904 and the difference is astounding. With audyssey off the denon sounds much better though. Still not as good as the pioneer though.
Audyssey is by no means infallible. In fact, don't assume all is well after running the Audyssey calibration. It is a good starting point but after running the setup get an SPL meter to fine tune the audio. What Audyssey really gets wrong is subwoofer measurements. I recently ran Audyssey again and Audyssey measured my 2 SVS PB1000 at -7.5 and -6.0. My SPL meter measured them at +2.0 and +3.5 dB ref level 70dB. Audyssey measured my 4 SVS Elevation surrounds at -2.0, -1.5, -2.5 -2.5. I like to run my surrounds a little 'hot' so I set the surround SPL levels at +6 with the surrounds now at +1.5, +1.5, +0.5, +1.5dB. The ultimate criteria for me is not what is measured technically but how does the system sound to me. I am a happy camper with my setup. I'm sure a sound engineer would do measurements out the wazoo and tell me my system is not 'optimized' but I could care less. One other Audyssey setting I change is the MultiEqXT32 from Reference level to Flat. I have also found that while Dolby Atmos has its virtues it is also not infallible. Many times I've preferred Dolby TrueHD over Atmos. One last thing is that, while enjoy Youthman's videos, he incorrectly states that the SPL meter should be set as A -Fast for speakers and C-Slow for subs. However, A weighting measures noise (OHSA standard) not volume level. C-Slow for subs is correct. Another 'controversy' is how to place the SPL mic. I place it vertically considering that the Audyssey mic is vertical. Just some thoughts and observations.
Probably a good idea to check your levels on all your speakers after applying the curtain as the SPL post curtain might have changed. I have tried this a couple times before but need to go back and try it again. Thanks for the video Michael!
Thanks I will check to see if they changed
Youthman I just purchased the app and tried your exact method and my god the improvement was immediate and shocking how much better it sounds now. I can't believe how much audyssey was doing to the speakers, the thick heavy curtain has been removed and I can finally hear what my speakers actually sound like now. Can't thank you enough!
Fantastic!
@@Youthman Does Dirac live and other room corrections have similar quirks? Or is it only audyssey?
I have limited experience with Dirac Live. Only have had two units with Dirac
@@Youthman Apparently trinnov has the best room correction next to Dirac, room perfect I wasn't that impressed by on McIntosh and audyssey xt32 seems to do a decent job. After you lift the curtain of course lol
I would hope so for a $16,000 processor 🤣
Youthman thankyou ever so mutch for this audessy instruction i was waiting for Someone to show me how to use this properly spare change show on this app but didn’t show how to use it once again thanks very much from Richard in Ireland
I agree 100%, it’s nice to see Youthman getting into the guts.
Thanks Richard. Glad you found the video helpful.
@@Youthman i sure did! I didn't know the copy trick in the editor app... Very useful. I'm glad i found you. I love how you go around and show other people's HT. And not just the fancy 100k ones lol.
Thanks for this video. I've been waiting some instructions on how to use this app correctly . I'm going to try it and let you know what I think. Thanks again.
That’s only part of what the app can do
@@Youthman true.. Not many videos are there to help us to fix avr issues
I started using this app a few days ago after struggling for months to dial in my system. I had an S710 Denon at my old house that I never had an issue with. buyers asked to keep it so I bought an S760 Denon. This new Denon even after running audyssey had very low dialogue but very loud action scenes. Using this editor app and applying a curtain really helped a lot!
Thank you Youthman for this tip! Ran the curve on my Denon AVR-6700 , my sound vastly improved!
What did you use?
I have always thought audyssey muddies the channels, especially the centre. For a while now I run the in-ceiling atmos and rear speakers with a 500hz curtain, but my front LCR I slide ALL the way to the left - I have the curtains completely closed! My system has never sounded better, especially my RP-504C centre channel, vocals are crystal clear now 👍🏻
I finally bought the app and boy am I glad I did. Every time I calibrated my system the subs were always coming out very low or the final result was -12 on both subs. I would keep trying until I got a calibration that wasn't makes out on the lowest setting. My PSA's we're not coming out right until I used this app. Every time I have used it the final setting came out to -7.5 and it sounded amazing even at a flat level. I bumped it 2db and it is absolutely amazing now. I don't understand why the calibration is right when I use the app but not just using the Denon setup procedure. I put up a 500Hz curtain and WOW. My Paradigm setup sounds amazing! Thanks for the tip.
Fantastic! Glad your system sounds better than ever
Can you show The curve in rew with and without CUT?
You hit another homer for me again bro thanks. I just recalibrate mine last weekend and I was really not liking what happened to the sound of my speakers. My klipsch speakers sounded real dull all of the sudden. Did the 500hz curtain today and it sounds so much better. Plus it gave me a reason to use the app beside when I recalibrate. Thanks again
@Youthman, funny that my Marantz SR5013 and my ELAC UB52's & ELAC S10.2 sub are a little shrill/harsh with Audyssey EQ'ing the higher frequencies and the midrange compensation lifted (off), so I've had to use this curtain to dial back higher frequencies that sound a little over-processed to me. I know of what you speak about Klipsch speakers w/horn tweeters, as I've owned a pair of floorstanders. They're a little bright. Thanks for sharing, bud. All the best.
I tried this and it works great. Thank you so much.
Excellent explanation for the EQ Odyssey very well done youth men It works on my 88 0 5 at 500 Hz sweet spot
Thank you. Glad the video was helpful
Home theater gurus suggested this, I tried it at 400hz with my RP-600M/C and it sounded much to bright for my ears, I set it back to full range. But at least I was able to turn off midrange compensation
The key is to try different settings to see what sounds best to your ears and also see what sounds best in your room
One of the features from the new 2020 lineup of receivers is the ability to make multiple measurements and switch between preset, kinda like memory 1, memory 2. Like having a music preset and a movies preset. Having the ability to make multiple measurements in the app, duplicate them, make changes before you upload back to the receiver is more flexibility than what the new receivers offer.
I agree but having both is even better.
One of the Best Tutorials Yet, I watch Joe N Tell video and Yours , No disrespect to Joe but you video was easier for me to understand, Thanks for Sharing
Thank you kindly. We all have different teaching styles.
I have a umik 1 and did some testing with and without audessey. The graph showed that it did something but the change was soo small it wasn't worth it.
Maybe it's because i'm using the lowest of audessey versions or because of the curtain.
Thanks for this video! will give it a try some day.
I have preferred cutting of audyssey at 300hz, I find that works better in my room. I wish there was a way to apply this cut before running audyssey, that way whatever amount of parametric eq options used by audyssey can be maximized within the band you really need it applied. I've also taken mine one step further and taken the curtain for the sub all the way down to 20hz. I measured the response of my subs before and after running audyssey and found I had a flatter response with audyssey off on the sub channel. Then I just used the minidsp 2x4hd to further flatten and I'm in audio heaven.
This! REW measurements and then REW EQ to minidsp worked great for me. Audyssey did not improve subs at all. So turn down audyssey eq on subs all the way if you have other means of eq'ing your sub(s). Also, change the crossover to between 80hz ~ 120hz and change distance setting for subs in AVR as well as sub level and remeasure for smooth transition from sub(s) to mains.
I was wondering if you can remove the subwoofer eq from Audyssey because I always found my subs sound so much more impactful without Audyssey. I love what it does for my main speakers but not the subwoofers.
@@logan1966 you can try adjusting the cut off point in the app for the sub... I take mine right down to 20hz. I could be wrong but I don't think audyssey makes changes below that frequency.
@@Agent-fg9ol That would be fine for me. I would like to adjust the frequency for the subs myself. I have a separate sub equalizer....thanks.
What about the midrange dip aka "BBC dip "? Is it disabled when you apply this tweak?
Excellent video and information. I’m using the curtain at 700 Hz and works fantastic. Thank you !
Got my denon 4700h coming in the morning!!!!!!!
Can't wait! Marantz and Denons genius knows no bounds!
How you doing Youthman? I really appreciate you making this video. I been thinking about getting the app for a while now. Now with your clear instructions im definitely going to get it. Thanks again man! Stay safe
Glad you are enjoying the content.
I wish YPAO was this flexible. This is really important and I need to do it myself. JBL 5 series speakers tail off around 14khz, so room correction is always boosting the high frequency. Probably has led to an overly bright sound.
you can do the same with ypao
Derek probably would be glad if you shared with him how
You can do the same, but not nearly as easy because there is no app support to see your calibrations or mess with settings within the app.
I watched this video with the soul purpose of seeing what you were going to say as see what I would have to do with YAPO. I have a Yamaha 7850 and everything has to be done on the AVR. You can manually set the canned frequencies and what dB. So, my guess is to set one to 300, 500, etc and set it to 0 dB and then leave all other frequencies as is. I am not at home but will definitely be looking in to this later. YAPO can also have 2 calibrations, I think. I forget exactly, but you copy the initial calibration to Custom I believe.
Yes you can. Just manually zero out all the frequency that you don't want affected.
Great tip! Sounds much better for 2 channel music on my AV7706. Doesn't sound like my system is confined to a box. However, it doesn't sound as good as the IOATAVX AVX17 that I'm about to send back. It's too buggy for me, but it's eq correction makes my old M&K 750's and subwoofer come alive like I've never heard.
That seems very similar to the AudioControl Bijou equalizer. If I remember correctly the THX standard wouldn’t allow you to equalize any of the higher frequencies. I’m very curious to try this out on my system. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I had some similar concerns with my system and the Audyssey settings with my Klipsch speakers.
Glad you found the video helpful Paul
Wow I'm noticing a difference already on my AV8805 Sounds amazing. Thank you Youthman!!
Glad it has improved your sound.
@@Youthman Ola amigó de Puerto Rico 💪😷
Thanks Sir for the learning session on a Friday! Day is made 🎛➿🔊 you YM be blessed 🙏
Glad you found it helpful Jon
This is what I needed! Never saw the real benefit of buying the app. As I am the proud owner of the Denon A110 paired with the new S702S2’s from B&W I can now hear so much more detail compared to the ‘basic’ Audyssey calibration. Huge thank you for this video! Keep up the great work.
Glad you found it helpful
Great info Mike, thanks for sharing. Did you take any REW measurements to see if it could show what you are hearing?
No I haven’t ran any REW measurements. I have a few other videos that I need to shoot first.
Youthman
I have done the same thing with my system. But I have let the center go to 3K and bumped up the range between 500Hz to 3K by 3db or so to help add some clarity too vocals. I prefer this in my heavily damped living room.
Good video youthman I had a go and it dose make a difference cheers for the tip looking forward to the next vid 👍
very cool Youthman. Hope I can get a new Denon AVR soon to be able to check out this cool feature. Keep up the great work
Yes definitely limit the frequency range any auto correction controls. I don't use auto correction at all but if I did I would limit it to controlling low frequency room modes only, maybe a couple hundred Hz and below at most. It's always better to do it all manually, just get the miniDSP, a good mic and software and dial it in.
While manual calibration has its benefits, a lot of people will never own a mini DSP or do full manual calibration.
@@Youthman Probably true, I come from a background of designing and building active analog crossover/EQ's so for me manually setting up a miniDSP is automated. I don't have to solder in different components to make adjustments anymore:-)
Pretty cool option. So many different things you can do with EQ these days with a touch of a button...
For sure. I learn something new every day
Good video Youthman.
One word of caution that I learned directly from the folks at Audyssey.....DO NOT use the internal AVR/processor test tones to double check your channel levels with a SPL meter after running Audyssey, as the internal test tones bypass all Audyssey processing and equalization. If you feel the need to do so, it is recommended to use the test tones from an external source, such as a calibration test disc.
Thanks for the tip I have never heard that before.
@@Youthman, I used to do the meter thing with the internal test tones as well, until learning this very important factor. It makes perfect sense why the Audyssey mic and your SPL meter don’t match up after you learn this very important bit of info.
Never heard this either will have to give it a try
Yup, came here to say this.
Great video!! I have a couple of questions. Here is my setup:
Denon 4700
Klipsch R-625FA Dolby Atmos Floor stand speakers
Klipsch RP- 504C II center channel
Klipsch R-41M Bookshelf speakers
Klipsch R-12SW subwoofer
1-What are your suggestions for the crossover settings?
2- What are your suggestions for the db level for all the speakers? This is where I am confused.
Start with a bass line of 80hz for your cross over.
You asked about dB levels. No one can answer that for you. It's your space.
Just calibrate your system with whatever software calibration tool it came with. And leave it at that.
And if you know what you're doing then you can get you an spl meter and go back into menu after calibration and set all speakers levels so they are the same which is usually 75db
I Love your channel. Thank you for the Audyssey tip sound is much better. The hits are cracking during Sunday football watching and music is very tight and clear.
Awesome! Glad you found it an improvement
Thanks for the video. I pulled back the curtain on 700Hz. I can confirm the improvement in sound is quite noticable particularly on the base! Now I have the same punch that I used to experience with my former Denon. I watched Wonder Woman in 4k with my SR8012 and the dual SVS PB2000 just shaked the room with insane sound quality. Highly recommended!
So you’re using reference and not flat? With the curtain?
Great video, thanks for that. The way others have described it, it sounded like they applied the curtain/limiter before they ran Audyssey at all, which sounded like a lot more hassle. Your way sounds better and much more straight forward. 👍
Thanks glad you enjoyed the content
@Youthman did you check the levels after curtain, should they be re adjusted if needed
Yes, Level matching is the last step.
Thank you soo much, l just tried it on my new Denon AVR-X3800H, l set it at 500Hz and it sounds amazing!!😃
What crossovers have you got with this
Great video, just what I was looking for.
seeing your audyssey curves .. im wondering how you guys like such a flat response in low frequency?
with Dynamic Eq off i have almost a Harman curve with in app +12db 50hz to +4db 160hz to 2000hz + 1 !
for the rest i have good quality towers and i think for sure they made a good crossover so why we all have to cut that with audyssey 👍
This is just what I was looking for.
Glad you found the video helpful
I tried this a while ago when Gene made a video about it and it reduces the harshness of my speakers. Haven't figured out if i like it better than using the harmon curve (+2db at 20Hz and -8db at 20KHz flat line) but both sound much better than just turning MRC off and doing nothing.
Basically a low pass filter. Didnt know I could do this in the app. I will have to try this!
I never correct to 20khz. Never a good idea. Even on the best room correction softwares. Around 2khz should be the max. On the lcr I do no more then 500hz.
This was the first time I had tried it. Glad I did
Youthman have you tried no curtain, but turn off Midrange Compensation? Someone recommended to turn it off on all speakers before you upload so I did. And OMG what a difference! Not only does it sound better it also gave me about a 10db gain. Where I used to be at 68 to watch a movie I am now at 58 with the same volume. I will try the 500hz curtain next.
Thanks Jerry. I have not tried turning off midrange compensation. Someone else recommended it as well. I’ll give it a try
@@Youthman I'm curious about your results. Please let me know your thoughts after you do.
@@Youthman try it, it is only necessary for the Center.
@@stevewithf5847 i turn it off on all speakers. If I feel like something needs to be dipped I will do it myself lol.
@@Youthman So after this talk I did some testing Saturday night. First I turned Midrange Compensation back on and immediately hated it. Then I still left it on and did the 500hz curtain and still did not like it...it helped some but still no way I was leaving it on. Then I went back to the original setting that was no curtain and Midrange Compensation off and it sounded fantastic again. Then I tried it with the 500hz curtain and midrange compensation still off and I can't really say if it was better or worse. I need to A/B some more but for now, I went back to the way I had because I absolutely love the way it sounds after I turned off Midrange Compensation. I definitely can't say that leaving correction on up to 20khz is actually messing anything up on my system in that room.
When running Audyssey Deos it change the warmth sound of marantz to like a denon sound
I had a way flatter response by letting audyssey run it fully. When I pulled back to 500 or 600HZ it was almost matching the before room correction.
Every room will be different. It’s great that you tried both ways. There’s not a right or wrong way to do it. What matters most is doing what’s best for your room.
Great subject. Thanks for sharing.
It would be lovely if Denin would allow the Audyssey app to be compatible with the x7200wa FFS! I made some changes in Amp Assign, added 2 more Atmos speakers (4), and now Audyssey DSX is available when there is Dolby Digital content present.
Noice! 👍🏼. You know, the other day, when we discussing about the curtain filter, I totally forgot to ask you a question about if you put curtain on the sub as well. But since you made the video, you’ve answered my question hahaha.
Yeah, I’m giving it another shot with my setup. I’ve been running this week with 500hz curtain, and now, I will try with 400hz and see how I feel about it.
Cool. Let me know what you find
@@Youthman For sure, I’ll keep you posted. Blessings.
Youthman..Great video man. Keep up the good work
Super helpful. Thanks Youthman
im going to give it a try , thank you also how are we doing with the demo disks ?? ,
Interesting…
I wonder how much difference this would make if the speakers were
neutral above 500hz,
bloated beneath 500,
or just the opposite of bright.
My Outlaw has proprietary calibration built in though I’ve used it only to tame a peak in the .1 channel.
I’ve used just a touch of cut here and there using the DSP PEQ in the 3 party EXOs used to bi & Tri-amp my channels.
Not helpful I’m sorry to say
I have the same marantz processor and I don’t get the preset pop up when uploading a profile?
Youthman! thanks for another great video. Question, do you think Audyssey is good enough to replace Dirac live all together or are using both?
Typically you would use one or the other, not a combination of both. Most people feel that Dirac offers better room correction then Audyssey
Great info. I need to look into this.
what did you change your Midrange comp?
Seems legit, i gonna try it, thanks !
Will this result in more accurate sound, or more preferable sound? I’m someone who tries to get the most accurate sound. If anyone knows, I’d greatly appreciate your response!!
Youthman, do you mind showing a REW graph comparing the curtain correct response to the full Audyssey corrected response?
350 Hz sounds best on my system but for the opposite reason: Audyssey artificially boosts my in-room response to flat, which is wrong. In-room response should be naturally declining for neutral speakers.
Youthman is the curtain available for the reference setting and flat, as some people are saying the curtain is just available for flat only
The setting is applied to the Reference curve Only. Changes done in the Audissey App are ignored when in Flat curve mode.
Hy! One major bug i found out on my Denon X4400h a while ago: The frequency limit only works in Audyssey "Flat" mode. "Reference" still applied the filter up to 20kHz!!! I did some measurements to verify that. Really strange!
It's the opposite. App settings only work with Reference.
Thanks always enjoy these how to videos
Glad you find it helpful
App is great, have had it awhile. I have midrange comp off. This app is a lot better than what's on the receiver. I will give this a shot, it makes a lot of sense.
I too leave midrange compensation off.
@@Youthman After a few days of enjoying the change, I am glad I did! Great video as always.
Thank you
Hey Youthman. Thanks for creating great videos. I kinda got lost here after uploading the 500Hz curtain then you uploaded the default settings. It seems when uploading the defaults, it overwrites the new 500Hz curtain change you just uploaded to the AVR. Am I correct? If not, how does Audyssey know not to overwrite the MultiEQ channel changes when loading the defaults?
Hi youthman can you close the curtain fully on the subwoofer
Great video Michael. My system has an RSL CG23-CG250CG23 front array, CG3s as surrounds, SVS Prime Elevations as F/R Heights and an SVS SB-3000 sub. I finally started playing around with the editor this week but the curtain, unfortunately, had a negative effect at various frequency settings. I did turn off mid-range compensation on both the "curtained" and default configurations and loaded each into my Denon's presets. A-B comparisons resulted in "muddy" sounding voices on the curtained setup and much crisper voices on the default configuration. Maybe the limiter was overcompensating but this was the case at all of the frequency settings that I tried. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Also, if you're doing an audyssey calibration run from the app and some extraneous noise occurs at one microphone position, how do you go back and repeat that one? Do you have to wait for it to finish that position and then hit cancel? When this happens with an Audyssey run on the AVR, you can just cancel at any time and it will redo that position. Thanks
Hey Michael, do you leave mid-range compensation on or off? Thanks in advance
When I had Marantz, I always turned it off.
But then again, I didn’t hear much difference between the two. Try both and see what sounds best in your set up.
In the average home theater 300hz should suffice. Essentially limiting Audessey to bass management duties for anything under the Schroeder frequency.
Thanks a bunch for the great video! I don't currently own the Audyssey app. However, I'm certainly tempted to buy it now, especially since I recently updated my system with a new center channel and added another pair of heights. I assume this curtain process will work on the Denon X4500H?
what setting would I put MultEQ® XT32 on
reference, flat or off?
what happens if i turn it off
thank you
I have mine in flat currently, which I believe has a similar effect to this curtain trick (not rolling off the higher frequencies), though I need to try this curtain method as it may be more effective.
Hi. It's not very clear from sound united about app compatibility across its receiver range. Does the app work with the AV7706?
Just acquired a Marantz 8802a w/ the Audyssey Pro kit and license; am I correct in assuming that I should be able to achieve similar results here, but my approach will differ, as the older model Marantz lacks this app connectivity?
What exactly does Audessy do other then mess up things? Idk anything about it but all I hear is people talking about it
Hi Youthman. . How can i get my front wide speakers work with the Audyssy app. When ever i connect the front wide speakers it disabled Audyssy the speakers only play in multi channel.
Do I run this app against my current internal config of Audyssey MultEQ XT, Audyssey Dynamic EQ, and Audyssey
Dynamic Volume or run the editor and upload the new settings? Will I also be required to use the Marantz provided microphone with the MultiEQ Editor?
This is awesome! Thanks 😊
Well, I guess I finally have a reason to upgrade my Marantz AV7702 mkii as it does not support the app.
Are they adding more Rx models? I have and older Manrantz SR6012, currently it's not supported in the App.
Thanks
