    Forever a fav.
    The look of panic. The pure emotion. The synergy that exudes from this trio is like the 3 stooges, the OG top gear etc. 3 parts to 1 whole idiot. I hope they do another soon. It has to be mark and wade tho. Bob has to do the questions cause he has the best memory of the 3 of them.

    So happy you guys are putting these on youtube and I can finally catch up. As usual, laughed until I cried during the second round of questions. What was worse is that I was answering with them and kept giving the right answers for the wrong questions, so I just made myself laugh harder. Such a fun episode. Wade deserved that win.

    Well, business rates usually also include a service package that the normal end user doesn't get.
    It's also a forced barrier to entry. "They", which is providers and governments don't want single end users to have over a certain bandwidth for several reasons. One is maintenance effort. If I've learned something first hand is that just because the infrastructure is there and the hardware is installed, doesn't mean it works as intended, so you can have the beefiest 10 gigabit line connecting to your house, but if nobody complains that it doesn't work, because nobody is using the bandwidth, they'll never gonna send someone over for maintenance. The other thing is a similar issue to...let's say buying specific machines, raw materials or chemistry related hardware. Nigel from Nilered talked about this once, where he bought some large glassware. Like, it was one of those giant roundbottom flasks that nobody ever uses unless they wanna prepare large amounts of specific substances and he later got a call from a drug officer, basically asking him what he planned to do with that giant flask, basically making sure that he wasn't planning on cooking that one relatively well known substance. It's kinda similar to that. They don't want single, private end users to have access to gigabit lines for cheap, because of all the nonsense you could get up to if you did. From piracy, to DDOS-Attacks, to the generally illegal kind of data. We used to have a law, that GPS for personal use on your phone couldn't have precision over a certain threshold, because superaccurate GPS was classified as a public threat. Same for encryption. I'm not sure if they've amended the limits at this point, but you can't have personal encryption on your PC or your phone over a certain key length, because that aswell, is classified as a public threat.
    So in Europe we use that system where the solar power directly powers your home and if you have a permanent solar array, you have to get it registered and they give you a small amount of money for each kilowatt hour you generate, IF it is registered. It used to be in the era of old power meters that if you generated more power than you used, because that's what happens most of the time, solar power is much more efficient than people give it credit for, that your power meter would suddenly start running backwards and power companies didn't like that very much, because you get far less money back for generating power than you pay for consuming it. So nowadays you can have a bi-directional smart meter that tracks how much goes in and out separately, but at any time, you use the power generated by your solar panels or battery first. However, power providers NEED to know how much extra power you put into the system, so they can properly control grid stability. But yeah, with the credits, that's totally an american thing and not at all a shady business tactic. On the other hand, I guess they also want those solar panels on the grid permanently to provide grid stability and as far as I know, it's even illegal to completely disconnect your house from the grid once it's connected

    • @moniquebear4544
      @moniquebear4544 5 дней назад

      It wasn't his point though, it was a question he answered first and he got it wrong, he only realized the correct answer after Wade also got it wrong. Bob at no point said he was going to give any points for that (he even joked that it would be a negative point before making the comment about Mark winning too much). As far as the pity chuckle point, Bob is the host, Bob gave him that point so it is a valid point. Points are whatever the host gives, nothing more, nothing less, and aren't required to follow any other rules.

    mark is right about solar panels. thats exactly how they work if they are installed CORRECTLY. you can be off-grid. but power companies literally STEAL your solar panel electricity. you can entirely be off the grid but many cities made it "illegal" which is sickening.

    This is such a beautiful demonstration of why the current education system has failed. When the study portion is presented as a question, the path to the answer gets tangled and there is no straight shot from question to answer because the thought process to get there needs to occur. Once you get to the right answer, youve got too much in between it and the question to be able to get there again. I always complained at teachers who forced us to "figure it out" instead of just teaching the material right the first time haha, its so much easier to remember when the only information related to the question is the answer.

    • @grooben8412
      @grooben8412 7 дней назад +1

      Your issue is you lack the tools to critically think. Everything in life is a question, and few if anyone has the answer. That is the nature of life
      It is our job to learn how to think critically. To navigate the process from question to answer
      The power of observation, rationality, and empiricism is what drives progress. All of which are the components of critical thinking

    • @Sc3n3Qu33n
      @Sc3n3Qu33n 7 дней назад +2

      @@grooben8412 @grooben8412 those are all things that should be taught in principal, not while focusing on learning a specific information set. As someone who has dehibilitating ocd which at its cellular level is the brain making incorrect pathways between thoughts, the more bullshit between me and the answer means i am less efficient at remembering it in the future. Sure, critical thinking and figuring it out is extremely important, but it is NOT helpful for remembering. Schools dont test for learning, they test for remembering.

    • @grooben8412
      @grooben8412 7 дней назад

      @@Sc3n3Qu33n That’s certainly true, In that regard you are correct. I realize my initial statement came out more aggressive than I would have liked. I’d like to apologize for that.
      Memory is something that is tested for, and while that is good in moderation, it is bad how often it is tested for.
      I have never struggled with memory so this is something I cannot related to. But I know many who do
      Thank you for this insight
