1 yrs later and finding this comment is everything. I absolutely cannot stand upspeak. Nails on a chalk board, I can't!!!!! I dnt understand how people either 1 can't hear themselves or 2 no one has ever told them they do that.
Me too and I also find myself listening when your input is much louder than the feed my dog goes nuts and my friends ask me wtf am I listening to I luv it when you amuse yourself and giggle at what's come outta your mouth! Thanx For LTWMFC🤣 exposure
I never understand the cases where a parent states they are "frightened, concerned, scared" - request a protective order, allege the other party is violent and mentally unstable - then 10 minutes later state "but I want the children to see the father" - those two positions make no sense to me. 🤷🏼♀️
The lawyer would tell the client not to outright deny supervised visits. Especially if the client shows no interest in seeing the child. It seems like good positioning by the wife’s lawyer.
In my experience, the supervised party can’t usually make it or it isn’t simple for lack of a better word, so it helps aid in making the 2nd parent look bad. Just my experience though.
Because the parent in question, usually the mother, will state this because they want an edge towards a better outcome in a final divorce decree. With a TPO the father is usually forced from the house, but still made to pay a majority, if not all of the bills for the remainder of the TPO. There is cases that TPOs are needed because the father will abuse and assault the wife and the wife and children in extreme danger, but as we've seen on LTWM, many women use the allegations of DV, stalking, fear, etc... in order to force the father out of the house and they get access to all property and many times, sell off, hide and the the father is made to pay all the bills with no regard to the father and his ability to pay the regular j he ills and then pay for new housing and living expenses. It's ridiculous, but I'm glad many judges are now seeing many of these cases for what they are and are stepping in and help make things fair, especially The Honorable Judge Alex "Pre-Trial" Manning!
Upspeak!!! Sooooo annoying! My Oz friends were the worst for it but now after emigrating 12 years ago my brother & his family all suffer with High Rising! My brain gets confused thinking they are asking me questions🤦🏽♀️Then there’s the half & O feature, half the word & add and O to the end…Arvo, Servo, Rego. Same as Mike did with ‘Lambo’
Ms. Tanner is going to send me into a friggin' seizure. It's BRUTAL. She seems like a solid attorney. Someone needs to reach out and kindly nudge her about her upspeak. I'll bet her win / loss ratio goes up immediately. She's otherwise well organized and well-presented. I worked for a large Legal Aid organization for several years, and we had a brilliant attorney who talked like a 1990s valley girl (she was in her 40s) and none of us ever mentioned it to her. One day, a Pro Bono attorney said something along the lines of "You're a brilliant attorney. You should really try speaking more clearly. I'm surprised you weren't dinged in law school!". She had an absolute crying / screaming meltdown on-the-spot, but the Pro Bono lady was only trying to be helpful. Apparently there's no nice way to do these kinds of things.
I'm sorry, I have to ask. I'm not from the US, so the "1990s valley girl" is lost on me, but I'm really curious now. Could you give an example of someone in the public eye that talks like that? Thanks! :)

This has been determined by linguists that the up pitch in her voice at the end of a sentence crept into the language sometime in the 1990’s. It is so annoying.
That habitual uplift at the end of attorney Tanner's sentences is maddening. It is rampant in North and Central Texas. Maybe it's taught in school, I don't know. If you’re in jail with no money, they can just give you a phone number instead of an attorney? Are phone calls free? Do they give you pencil and paper in jail? It seems like we’re supposed to pretend that poor people get a lawyer.
Just as you mentioned her voice I had literally thought the same thing THAT second, it knocked me out of a trance staring at my cpu screen and then u said it
The attorney Tanner she just wasted everybody’s time. Basically she didn’t like the agreements, and she wanted to case make a fuss over nothing. Either that, or the ex-wife was really act of wanting to stir things up, but actually had agreements that she had forgot to mention to her attorney, making her attorney look like a horses behind
Miss Tanner is driving me crazy with her "upspeak." She ends all of her sentences with an upward inflection, making everything seem like a question. If I were a judge, it would drive me nuts!!!
Being a non-American, I hope millions of you understand, that just about all Americans 'sing' when they talk. This one is pronounced due to the uptone at the end, but all the different accents from state to state have a 'singing' form.

Dam Mike! I was really getting into the hearing and you cut it short! Bummer! Anyways, such is life... Merry Christmas!
It will go back up after an edit. 👍
Thanks, Mike, now I can't unhear her lol
Thanks Mike I hadn't noticed her speech and now I can't un notice it
If you’re in jail with no money, they can just give you a phone number instead of an attorney? Are phone calls free? Do they give you pencil and paper in jail?
It seems like we’re supposed to pretend that poor people get a lawyer.
You do get an attorney for free. What are you talking about?
They get one who will contact them before the next hearing that’s how it works.
Man, if there has ever been a person who needs to stay out of Fulton County, this guy is definitely the one.
Why does he have to pay her utility bills he isn't there and has his own to pay.
So… I love the squirrel. I HATE the goat scream. Annoying! More squirrel. Less goat.
It’s not just you. That inflection drives me crazy 😂
The way she ends her statements with the rising in tone reminds me of my Canadian side of the family.
Hey we’re not all like that it’s a top pet peeve to me to:)
@@beckipodgurney7672 LOL...married to a Canadian so I get it. Sorry to your pet peeves! LOL
So weird; I was about to click off the video because I couldn’t handle the upspeak, then you pointed it out! I shall stay.
Just as you mentioned her voice I had literally thought the same thing THAT second, it knocked me out of a trance staring at my cpu screen and then u said it
Hey Mike.....It's cold 🥶 in Dallas. Not nearly enough thrupple s.
😂
The attorney Tanner she just wasted everybody’s time. Basically she didn’t like the agreements, and she wanted to case make a fuss over nothing.
Either that, or the ex-wife was really act of wanting to stir things up, but actually had agreements that she had forgot to mention to her attorney, making her attorney look like a horses behind
Miss Tanner is driving me crazy with her "upspeak." She ends all of her sentences with an upward inflection, making everything seem like a question. If I were a judge, it would drive me nuts!!!
Speech pattern of Tanner is totally grating. Judge Judy would say "are you asking me or telling me?"
Usually upspeak is a sign of deception
Rule 11 in Texas just means that attorneys and parties in a lawsuit can enter into an agreement on any of the items at issue in the lawsuit.
👍
🤭She sounds like my insurance agent. Sweet girl. Every sentence ends sounds like a question. 🤣
I didn’t notice her voice until you pointed it out. Now it’s driving me insane!!!! 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️💩🤪
Make it stop Mike!!
Your welcome 😂🐐
I agree with lawyer's influx of tone at the end of her sentences hahshs
Thank you …now it’s driving me crazeeii
How does a grown woman talk like that. I could care less about how this case and I'm out that chick needs to go back to school to learn to speak
As an Essex girl I naturally do the up speak thing, but oh boy is she so much worse and even I found it frustrating
The first upstanding young gentleman is seriously crazy. If he is paid a visit by the cartel he would most likely pee his pants.
Being a non-American, I hope millions of you understand, that just about all Americans 'sing' when they talk. This one is pronounced due to the uptone at the end, but all the different accents from state to state have a 'singing' form.
Actually, that's true of MANY foreign languages.
Just great! Now all I’m focused on is her emphasizing! every date ,( up speak)🤣. Thanks Mike for every video I find my self with a smile on my face, 🤗 Alaska
