    Absolutely love that guy. He's confident and not afraid to bring the hammer down. Yet, he's funny, so it's a nice balance to watch.

    I could watch Judge Van and his Deputy all day. I laugh every single time the Judge makes a silly Comment and his Deputy pipes up "I can't stand you." 😂 😂 THEY ARE PHENOMENAL together.

      Yeah, same here - I've also seen how the also keep the flow of people fairly smooth in the process, too. In a way their chatting helps to calm things down. But they're so fun to watch.

      True, but the judge still has to order according to the law. Too many judges get in their feels and they overuse their authority.

    Ever notice that the people who run their mouths in court overwhelmingly tend to be the same people who don't see why they should dress appropriately for court?
    I think there's a connection here: If you dress for court as you would dress for another special formal occasion -- church, wedding, funeral, graduation -- you'll feel more of an inhibition on your mouth. And when you're in front of a judge, your own mouth is your most fearsome enemy. Whatever helps you STFU and let your attorney do the talking is a Good And Happy Thing.

      "Tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth, etc."

      @@ceIIardoor If you are under oath, yes. But this is also (one of the reasons) why we are explicitly exempted from being forced to testify against ourselves. It is incomprehensibly stupid to admit to anything, even if you are guilty (at that point in the process). The judge is correct in trying to uphold this individuals rights (and to ask for an evaluation, as their responses did hint toward mental health issues).

    7:48 he's in for a shock when he realizes when he disrupts the court live, the judge will find him in contempt and have him arrested and put in jail.....

    You need to start a go fund me to have a statue built of yourself and have it put next to the fountain. 😂. Also Public Defenders should be allowed to have a mute button to protect their clients from incriminating themselves.

      It was so bad that they canceled school, which never happens here, for Monday at 2 o clock on Sunday. And now they've canceled Tuesday, too
      And this after we had that week-long snowstorm after Christmas, too.

      @@kayb9979 So true. Although my Jack is extremely affectionate.. I had a cat prior to these two named Anna Devane Scorpio Ryan (my last name) for 18 years who was my soulmate. I was absolutely beyond devastated when she passed in December of 2018 and have accepted I'm just not going to get over it.
      A week later Jack came to live with me and I thank God for him every day. He's helped me so much

    I love the way Mr. Coleman looks down his nose at the judge and he speaks just like so many other young men with a sense of entitlement and arrogance….it’s actually funny watching them cause you just wanna say “dude you ain’t all that”…….you are not all that important…other than in your own mind.

    I think we ALL want to know what the charge was for Mr. Coleman. It had to be for something where he COULDN'T follow ' Instructions '. He won't even take simple instructions from his attorney " Stop Talking ".
    Imagine Him being your Co-Worker and having to deal with his ' attitude ' on a daily basis.

    Aside from throwing away his rights, the guy admitting to loitering and prowling was kind of charming.
    “I did something bad and I’m going to take responsibility for it” is not a mindset I hate to see.

      *Fully* agreed.
      But there's still a process that lets you stand and take responsibility without eating your own foot. A pro attorney will manage that better, get you a better plea, and use your integrity and willingness to take responsibility to reduce your penalty.
      Whatever you can do for yourself, an attorney can do it better.

      In a society that cynically presumes that everything is fake and everybody is lying ... simple-hearted honesty *is* comical.

    I saw this when it happened and thought I would D-I-E. Scooter insists on trying to punch the judge's buttons, as if that will help him. You have to hope his friends grabbed his elbow. His attorney tried to wrangle him, and he just insisted on pouring kerosene on his skivvies before running towards the flame!

    Love the Judge Garrett clip. Mr. Coleman was a little too talkative for his own good. Had his attorney been granted that breakout room with him she requested, I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall for that lecture. 😂

    What was the comment about 6 weeks vacation and then spring break and the sports teams? I gather that rival schools have spring break at the same time, end up in Florida, and end up in court on stupid drunk/drug charges at the same time. Is that when he takes vacation?

    I hope we get a follow-up of the 1 who assaulted a 1st responder...As an 🚑 EMT, I had a patient going from ER to specialized detox. Was .35 BAC walking and talking w/o slurring words. Unable to sedate due to that lvl. Got my knee blown out.
