The Opeth concert at Roundhouse Tapes is absolutely incredible too, especially when they play *Blackwater Park* , it's so satisfying to see and hear them perform the 11+ riffs that song has so well live. You have to react to that live performance, it's unbelievable.
Indeed ! It's unbelievable that they can perform a HARD song like Blackwater Park in that quality ! And oh my god, Mikael's harsh vocal is INSANE 💯🔥
My favorite live performance of all time... The Roundhouse Tapes is the most under-listened concert EVER.
The best live performance of Bleak and Face of Melinda are from the Roundhouse Tapes. They play those songs so rarely and the production of that recording is just right. Same with Demon of the Fall. Sounds so raw.
I saw Opeth at the Opera House in Sydney one year. I had some special tickets (a friend of mine is in their fan club), we were seated behind the band. Yep behind! The sound quality was incredible, i kept saying to myself "i wish i had the recording of this! it's better than the albums!".
I was at this show!! INCREDIBLE.. Devin Townsend, Gojira, and Opeth!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
If you love Opeth, I would thoroughly recommend Porcupine Tree. Mikael and Steven (frontmen of both bands) are vast friends, and cooperate a lot in their music. Several songs you covered by Opeth and enjoyed a lot were produced by Steven Wilson from Porcupine Tree.
If you want specific song recommendations: Hatesong and Anaesthetize are absolute classics for their live versions! For a longer epic song (with a solo by Mikael from Opeth!) check out Arriving Somewhere But Not Here. Or if you want to go super bluesy: Don't Hate Me.

Hey legend, ive been crazy enough to see them every tour of Aus since 2003 deliverance tour, i think its 9 times now, their live show is amazing 👏

She has earned 11 Grammys and many of her albums have certified gold, platinum and multiplatinum in the United States and Internationally... Nice reaction, thanks for sharing.
I've listened to this album a lot but this live version is a first and it's everything expected from Opeth 🤘

Damn, no one warned you that this was from the prog rock era of Opeth! Good thing Sorceress is still kind of heavy and choppy!
Opeth's last 4 albums are a totally different style from their prog/death metal style that made them popular. They went with a more 70s inspired progressive rock sound, dropping the harsh vocals and the typical metal distorted guitars. I prefer Opeth's metal sound, but there's a lot of incredible music from these 4 albums. Mikael wrote a lot of sections with a really unique feeling, like the way this song ends.
