    Thanks for uploading.
I don’t know if the actress who played Babs was American, but if she wasn’t, she did a fine job of actually sounding like she was.

Your comment made me curious - especially as when this play was made it was still fairly unusual for British actors to do really good American accents and BBC Radio tended to use a handful of North American actors for all of their American characters... but it turns out that Babs was played by Lynn Bains who is indeed American - born in New York, no less, though she's lived in Scotland for a long time. Moreover, it turns out that these days she works as a dialect coach, teaching people how to speak with authentic American accents..!

There's nothing I didn't enjoy about this drama . Despite multiple side-swapping and plot deviations , it swerves gently along . Alongside excellent acting , the production is wonderfully understated , relaxed , steady , "QUIET..!" ~ for the most part there is no background 'special effects soundtrack' , the lack of which enhances the intelligence and depth of the dialogue
    ~ I could waffle on for ages here ; so ,,, I won't .
    ~ recommended .
