Hi Roscoe love the foot work on the panels you should audition for dancing with the stars ha ha seriously you guys are doing a great job (still a boat load of work to go )but getting closer to that magical line cheers guys
Getting the lining up really brightens things up. Looks great. The build is coming along well. I can't believe I've been loving and watching your boat build for almost 6 1/2 years. I have built a few small boats for my grandkids but nothing like the boats you build. I look forward to each and every episode. As always, thanks for sharing.⛵
Thanks so much Daniel, there is never enough boats in a family, only way to keep sane. Thanks again for watching and I hope you are staying warm as you head into the long Alaskan winter. Ross
Thanks Nick, the finishing the joining was out of this world difficult, Janet and I spent weeks tidying up the joins, but the result was almost flawless. Rossco
Hi Roscoe and Janice, it’s really good to see A married couple that have a desire for the same Passion of building A catamaran together and good also to see your family get involved. Really love and appreciate you both and the family when they are around. Keep up the good work. Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺🧑🏾🦽
Thanks Cliff, I am a very fortunate man, that has been blessed with a family I could not have dreamed for. Janet and I have always shared our dreams and goals and we are so grateful for everything in our lives. Thanks fr your great comment.
What a difference Ross ! Good you had Janet supporting you in this phase. Was thinking some of the wood trim at longer panel joints would also be good locations for handholds, small bookshelves that can hold anything else, and places for hooks or knobs etc as clothes hangers for jackets or wet gear better left out to dry...
Compared to some other builds, installing liners seem a lot faster and cleaner than sanding, fairing, priming, gel coating, painting. Especially the dust. More and more green converted to white. Cleaner and brighter. The wood trim will really stand out.
Cheers and thanks for watching. The corner were supposed to be the easy bit, but it turned out that I wasn't happy with wooden trim, there was so much work in them it was beyond belief. All coming up in a few weeks. Rossco
I was thinking the air you was breathing can’t be good with a filter and oxigion would be better, but I know nothing about spraying and thought no more of it. Hopefully you both did not get too bigger buzz out of it. It’s like glue sniffing….lol
Over here in wa looking at the 80% finished schionning wilderness 1120x a lot of sanding and fairing to go but all fibreglassing done. Big decisions to come just like honey I boat a mould. Would be great to talk about it with you. Cheers greg
Vacuum bagging is not used for mounting flat panels? It´s used for wet on wet laminations of intricate parts, to eliminate air bubbles. But you know that...
Could definately use it for glueing panels on.Commonly used in veneering wood veneers on doors and panels and pheasibly could have been implanted here with a sacrifice of bagging consumables.Cheers Rossco.
There is no gap as all walls are peel plied to a smooth surface.Liner is 2 layers of 300csm gel coated so no fairing required that was the whole idea of making the linings.Ross
The hull is 30mm foam so has inherent foam insulation in the laminate. Wool insulation would potentially be a moisture trap for condensation, so Given boat will only be sailed in temperate to tropical environs it should be no problem.Ross
Go to the gym? You run up and down the stairs, work on the upper body sanding over head, climbing and crawling on your knees, bending and lifting, no I don’t think the gym would help you much. I do recommend getting out on the kayak and unwinding a bit now and then. But I not a doctor and don’t play one on TV.
ROSSCO ,you lying on your back using your feet to put up the panel was priceless.
Your work feel like it going quicker, big changes must be rewarding

Making the panels was the best idea ever, practically instant results and it looks so nice!

Pleasure to see some pretty bits going on!🎉
Another great vid ,looking beautiful.

Don't get rid of the off cuts from the Corian, you might need a nice place to set your beer up at the helm...

Definately a time saver, with a great result.Cheers Roland.
It has been said many times; the longest part is in the detailing.. Take care you two..... Jim Ttfn
Rocking it better than a quarry there sir! Looking awesome! Stay safe and well!
instant white walls... isch.. ;-)
Good episode Ross
The interior linings really make a difference
How come you didn't get all the stainless pieces profile cut?
So many details and so much hard work. Looking really nice !
As always great work team.
Thanks mate.Great to see you both last week.
Goodonya! Well done!👍
Thanks Marc

Thanks Martin you have done more than enough and I will let you off , just etching it is challenge enough.Rosscl
Nice work the both of you !
Ever since the beginning of the lining, I've been wondering how you're gonna blend the "planks" together in the corners… ?
Cheers and thanks for watching. The corner were supposed to be the easy bit, but it turned out that I wasn't happy with wooden trim, there was so much work in them it was beyond belief. All coming up in a few weeks. Rossco
Probably done, but would a glass suction cup help with handling?

What material is that your lining the hull with? Looks great.
Gel coat spray finish with 2 layers of 300csm.Laid up on a smooth melamine sheet.Cheap and simple but oh so effective and a massive time saver.

Sounds like a great project Greg.Give me a buzz through messenger sometime.

Hi, what sort of glue did you use to hold the liner in place? What did you do to fill the gap between two liners? Epoxy and fairing?
There is no gap as all walls are peel plied to a smooth surface.Liner is 2 layers of 300csm gel coated so no fairing required that was the whole idea of making the linings.Ross
I’m surprised you don’t have any insulation (foam or glasswool boards) between the hull and your bright white interior linings.
The hull is 30mm foam so has inherent foam insulation in the laminate. Wool insulation would potentially be a moisture trap for condensation, so Given boat will only be sailed in temperate to tropical environs it should be no problem.Ross
That’s a lot of wood trim you have ahead. Tricky stuff to get smick
I’ve always heard work smarter not harder.. I know you mates are working hard but the this smarter work is cutting down the time.
How about hot glue and wedges and just give ‘em a wack when panels are adhered.
so sick russ killer boat
Cheers mate
You going to put wood trim over all them seam's?? Alot of them don't meat up perfectly ..........
No they have been glassed, faired, sprayed and polished to appear seamless
That sounds great,... good to hear you've done that !! @@LifeOnTheHulls
