- Following right along the mystical *Gabriel's list*, today we have 'Ever Dream' from the infamous '2013 Wacken' performance! Will we be lulled to sleep, or get our faces rocked off.... or both!?
Emppu has few solos, it's ok to miss them. He's a real team player who just plays to the song so doesn't really get to shred very often. One song which highlights Marko's voice and gives Emppu a chance to really open up is their cover/tribute to Pink Floyd's High Hopes from 2005 if you're interested.
Or another with great harmonies with Floor and Marko is 7 Days to the Wolves live from Wembley. Emppu has a really bluesy solo in that song too.
Don't let the "Army" get you down. Internet fandoms amirite? They mean well most of the time.

I can't get enough of Jukka beating those drums like he's been gifted a new set.
I had the privilege to be there. There were 14 songs played. As you watch closely you see me on the 754 row standing. A magical concert. The best ever. I worked my way to the front, but then had to pee and had to go back. The openingssong was epic Dark chest of wonders. Try to see that.
A little part of the magic of Nightwish is that no one in the band wants to shine......
It is all about the song they are playing......
They come in front when the song needs and then they go the background letting another one come into the light......
And so is Emppu.......besides he is the prankster in that band, my personal believe is that he belongs to the greatest guitarists of rock....
For me he is in one row with f.e. David Gilmour.
An absolut perfect solo of him you can watch in the ballad Dead Boys Poem.....
That solo is genius.......not many notes, quite simple for an experienced player.....but expressing unbelievable many emotions........
And a perfect even, a good solo is not just playing thousands of notes as fast as you can in the most fancy way.....but its about expression of emotions......
Every musician in Nightwish is a master at the instruments they play! 🤘🎸

this song sounds like a 80's love ballad but it doesn't sound like a typical love ballad and the dynamics of it are pretty cool the directions it goes so strong and powerful outro
Nightwish at Wacken 2013 isn't just the Gold Standard for Nightwish live performances it is the GOLD STANDARD. Heck all Nightwish live performances are 🙏😊👍❤️

" Ever Dream " is the sixth single by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. Released as the first single from the band's fourth studio album, Century Child, it was the group's first single in two years, following " Deep Silent Complete " in 2000.
The song is more operatic in nature than later works and the music itself is more on the heavy metal side. It is still played live since 2002 until today. "Ever Dream" was certified with Gold Disc in Finland two days after its release, with more than 5,000 copies sold, and later received Platinum Disc with more than 10,000 copies sold.

I was there too! It was feckin' awesome! It was one of these magical nights, where everything just falls into place. I can't discribe it, but this night is in the top 3 concerts of my life, alongside with Queen in 1985 and TOOL. It was also special because it was for many people the first time hearing Floor with Nightwish. I didn't liked Anette as a singer and quit listening to them. So, if it hadn't been my girlfriend at the time who wanted to see them, I would have been laying somewhere around our tent, totally drunk.
He goes by the diminutive name of Emppu. E for Erno, m for Matti, and ppu is like adding a y or ie to an English name.
Floor has few years of classical training plus decades of experience in different genres, she can hit a hefty distance without mic, like an opera singer (there are videos).

Oh, yes! Another one of my favorites! "Ghost River," an absolute banger about death and crossing over the river. One of the heavier songs, but my favorite Nightwish moment is Emppu doing a little bunny hop during the breakdown, then going into a guitar god pose for the harmonic lead. So awesome!

Floor looks very good in the last live stream from 3 weeks ago, taking into account how advanced her pregnancy was. I think the event will take place very soon. I think the child will be a Virgo or a Libra.

Didn`t see the stream because I am out of FW since some month, but heard of it how good SHE looked.....
But my personal believe is that her name will have to do something with northern myths......and Virgo or Libra are too much latin to my taste......

I sometimes ball my eyes out at Kenny Rogers songs like I do with Nightwish Songs. Yes rhis Metal Head loves Johnny Cash and stuff.
they don´t needed "it" (showcase), just watch their concert from 2001, "from wishes to eternity" DVD. A really great song is "The Pharaoh sails to Orion" (Marco the singing bassist was NOT a member yet) ...
