I luv my GT Peace… still smokin’. It’s my go too bike to jump on for urban (flat) rides, she is all black with cool silver decals. I achieved a similar riding (uptight’ish stance) by installing some head tube spacers raising the bars by about two inches. Something about chrome moly frames too!
Love it. Your videos popped up in my feed and they don't disappoint. I'm from a BMX background and this made me laugh so hard. I have a Kona Unit that I've done the same thing. Threw on smaller 27.5 wheels, a nice steel fork, and a Profile Elite disc hub (always wanted one!) and now I have a Big BMX. It's certainly one of the most fun and versatile bikes, but I currently live in a city, so different perspective.
I have just acquired a 25 year old GT Tequesta, 16" frame and building it up as a MTBMX, but keeping the gears as I live in a hilly area of the UK. It will be a work in progress as and when I have money to fully customise it. But I can at least make it rideable and fun! Great job!
Realy fun 3 weeks ago I found a old gt palomar for 10 euros and instant thinking about making a big boy bmx with the frame and I fond your chanel and videos so now you are my two favorit bike restoration/convertion channel with oldsovel. For now I making the fun part searshing for low price parts prepare the frame paint it and soon I hope I will ride with my new two wheels friend ^^.
I ended up here because I found one in a backyard with other 4 that are true junk, but the GT looked to me like it is a strong bike, it's old, but that don't matter when it's well-built and seems to me it can be updated. Has all Shimano parts and a RST suspension fork. But, needed to make sure. its selling for 70 bucks
I actually want to build something like that but as a fixed gear freestyle . I have the frame , just gotta decide how I want it . Gonna go with 26in wheel set, something that will take a beating , lol.
Nice build. Every time I had a bmx frame welded to try and save it - it broke behind the welds. The welder actually told me that before he welded it (brazing, TIG etc) I really liked the frame that ended up in the trash..sigh..:(
This might be the best looking bike after the rockhopper ofc but is it just me or will it look a lot better with a new paint job without any graphics, a plain color or some kind of vintage-y marble effect
Hello and great video. I wanted to know in terms of the front fork. Is that a regular BMX front fork because in my mind we would need a longer BMX style front fork for the larger wheel. I’m a 6 foot two guy 280 pounds, so I want to build a bike like this. I just can’t find anyone to specifically say what is needed by way of the front fork. Thank you in advance if you do get to see his comment and reply
Bro I’ve been trying to build my a GT all terra coronado and you just made me realise that the KEY component (to make it look perfect) is a straight dirt bike fork. How much did you end up spending on this build? Thanks!
This bike in the video looks like an 18" frame, I wouldn't go any bigger than that, but 16" is sweet too, more like a proper BMX with sloping to tube for a more racey feel. Looks like a fun bike to ride!
I've more or less BMXed every bike I've owned for the last 30 years, with the exception of an actual BMX bike, which I converted to a utility/commuting bike. Is something wrong with me??
At first I was like "4min for the GT?!!!" And they I was like.... perfect... just perfect
four-twenty minutes
One of your best vids. Putting in the work with voice-over definitely raises the production value. Keep it up man!
That thing looks sweet, good job on recognising that it was nearly right, not quite there, almost, now its goooood.
Most under rated bike channel.
Awesome!
I have a converted GT Outpost too... as a cargo bike (bullitt style)! It was custom made by some guys in Toulouse, it's so unique, i love it
just bought my first frame on ebay, going to be my first bike build
thx for the motivation
Doddy would love that. Somebody should tell him to look at it.
LOVING the production in this latest vlog!
Yup this is it. New project bike. Its gonna happen. Thanks for the inspiration, love the thrasher bash builds too!
Nice rig! Vintage GT frames are the bomb! So pleasing to the eye...
Im still a little surprised that you welded all over the dropouts and didn't weld in horizontal dropouts to deal with your chain tension issue!
This is sort of like a modern day Klunker . Great job on making it so cool !
Because of this exact build I bought a beat to shit GT Tempest and some salt 7” rise BMX bars. Probably the most fun bike I’ve ever built and ridden.

I also added a nice soft Telluride saddle and she is comfort on wheels!
Combine hard working + good eye for old cool stuff + money to buy all you need = Gnarly bike. 👏🏼
I did something similar to my 82 Norco custom cruiser. Badass build bro. I dig it
So sick. Great rundown, Eric. Also, kudos on the grade-A suspension build (like...keeping us hanging, I mean).

You've gone and made me want a set of those BMX style bars for one of my old mountain bikes now.
You need one of those hand lever dropper posts so you can drop the seat nice and easy and keep the cockpit clean.
Please do this with your other bikes. Not everyone has watched the progress all the way through like I have. Plus it's fun and bite size
This is my fav bike from your collection. Great job!
I really dig the frantic recap style you did for this video!

That bike looks great!! I have a gt outpost that I want to do something similar with.
That thing is cool! I'm not a BMXer but now tempted to build something similar.

That's dope! Got my own retro bike and it makes wanna turn it into a 26er bmx like yours! great video ❤️
YOOOOO!!!!I want one of these now!!! cool build!
Yep, you've done it again! That thing looks rad dude!!!
Love that thing man! I rode my dads old outpost trail all through middle and high school. If only mine was this cool hahaha
wow, the fact that i was just thinking of doing this to my mtb and i see this video… you read my mind!!!
That was a really fun format. Also the bike is sick!
I love what all these crazy kids are doing with them old bike parts.

Aw snap! That thing is gorgeous! I think this could be your best build yet. Somehow you might have topped the specialized.
I like the gallium trick on the stuck seat post.

Yes, this is exactly what is need. big boy Bmx city cruiser😇👍👍.
U should totally search for another frame and do it again👌
Nice build. Every time I had a bmx frame welded to try and save it - it broke behind the welds. The welder actually told me that before he welded it (brazing, TIG etc) I really liked the frame that ended up in the trash..sigh..:(
Now that's a cool-ass bike, nice work going into this one, the final result lived up to the hype 🔥🔥
Super cool, I've never seen that seat post removal technique. Rj the bike guy has some interesting methods too!
This video inspired me to buy triple triangle Gt bikes I now own 6 and 2 are MTBMX style.
I love this build! It made me turn my brother In Laws Schwinn Frontier into a BMX inspired ride.
Excellent ride 👍 BMX all the bike you say, have at it Sailor… BMX bars on everything is the future…
Amazing that after all that, even the colour scheme and accents look doooppppeeee
Bmx with a bikerack ...wheely and grocery getting all in one...❤❤❤
Very nice format
Hell yeah! Resorting to science for a stuck seat post.... you did the bike justice!
What is that galium stuff for the stucked seat post????
Killer build 🏁🏁🤙🏼🤙🏼💯💯🏆🏆
Sick build
Great video!!
Do you know if the vantara is the same frame I want to do a build like this and found one close to me ?
Awesome vid bro
Just recently sub'd to this channel and I am loving it! Your builds are awesome and so entertaining. Cheers 👊
Pls let me know what exactly crank and bb do you use (bmx one) got so much sens with a convesiin of that and that's tipe of bb tube of a frame
Nicely done
What was the size and brand of fork you eventually settled on?
I love GT's but that looked like a very amazing Canadian hand built steel GURU frame. I would cut off my left finger for that GURU frame.
I bet that’s a killer wheelie bike!
Awesome indeeed, it looks fantastic!
It turned out really nice👍
That thing looks sick!
man i still crack up at that clip where you threw the frame out
Cool what size it is
I have a question. Are mountain bike forks different from Bmx forks?
This might be the best looking bike after the rockhopper ofc but is it just me or will it look a lot better with a new paint job without any graphics, a plain color or some kind of vintage-y marble effect
What an adventure. That was a hilarious journey to watch.
I thought this was hilarious a year ago until I recently undertook such a journey myself and now it doesn't seem quite as humorous.
Hey man! Great video. I have a stock seat post and trying to find creative ways of getting it out. how did you use gallium and why does it work.?
Try mechanical hydraulic disk brakes! Feels more like hydraulic braking power and still the ease of installation and € of mechanical! They're awesome!
You put Panaracer on any bike and it shines 😎
Sick bike

It’s a 26” BMX fork
Most enjoyable videos yet! Why not slap a dropper on that with the lever below the seat?
Do they make them in that small diameter?
@@Quaid_Nasty Gravity Dropper makes them in pretty much all sizes. Not cheap but there is an option
thanks for this video eric
Next time just use some dry ice to unstick those posts. Drop it in through the bottom bracket, clamp the seatpost in a vice and turn the whole frame.

Song? At the end?
Great job I like it
Bravo! Bravo!
Cool bike
Sweet! What size frame is the GT? Seems like smalls are the way to go...

Solid!
Thing looks sick! Sweeeet!
is it comfortable?
Dude do it ! Bmx all of the bikes 🤣😆🤣😆
I hope you bmx all the bikes

I just Got a great GT platform from a very similar situation
Definitely awesome
BMX all the bikes!!!!
Which cult fork did you go with?
I love old GT's
Happy solid affordable
I've more or less BMXed every bike I've owned for the last 30 years, with the exception of an actual BMX bike, which I converted to a utility/commuting bike.
Is something wrong with me??
That's a lot of work, but it's pretty neat.
so.. detangler.. front brake with thru the stem routing.. hookworm 2.5
Well i guess i need to build one now
plz share completed product
F*cking love it man.
Sweet!
