It's funny because they picked "Lübeck" very obviously just for the name. Pretty much all the dishes were from the South (as well as Austria/Switzerland) and then you go with Lübeck for the name, one of the northernmost cities in Germany. It's a bit like opening a Texmex restaurant and calling it "The Milwaukee". To be fair, the food all looked pretty good and you could certainly call it "inspired by German cuisine", but aside from the Currywurst (where it's difficult to judge just from looking at it), it didn't exactly seem authentic.
Lived in Cincinnati my whole life. Went on many field trips to Krohn’s when I was in school. Thank you for showing how beautiful our city is to your viewers. Please come back for Oktoberfest you will not be disappointed. Proud to be a Cincinnatian! You and your wife are honorary Cincinnatians to us! Safe travels!
The best Currywust you can get is from Dönninghaus in Bochum. The Käsespätzle look very wired, normally the nudels are much smaller. As beer I have to recommend Veltins, im living 5 miles away from the brewery, but Krombacher and also Warsteiner are from the same region.
If you come to Buffalo I can tell you a great small breakfast joint that the bills players are known to eat at every weekend in the off season. Great food and either way and a bonus of being able to fan it up
Krombacher is not the best beer from Germany, but I am from Cologne and we are drinking Kölsch beer here, but if I would like to drink a Pilsener beer, I prefer Becks beer 😊 by the way, Lübeck is a wonderful town ❤ so sad to see the Kässpätzle on your table, the cheese needs to be with the noodles, melted all together, cheese bulbs all over and roasted onions, but all together, hot in one bite.
That restaurant looks incredible, as a Cincinnati native I’m going to have to check it out. Also, in the future I’d love for you to come back to Cincinnati for Oktoberfest. We have the second largest Oktoberfest in the world in zinzinnati.
Ooooo, Ken, if you are ever passing through Michigan, there is a very good German restaurant in Gaylord. Mary's Stein Haus. The pork schnitzel is fork-tender and very flavorful! Don't even get me started on the veal schnitzel! 😅 They have beef rouladen, sauerbraten, and even schweinshaxe! Schweinshaxe is like bacon on a bone! Quite authentic to Germany. The potato salad is not to be missed. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures in eating! Looks like Carol is having a good time! Safe travels! 💜
Lübeck is a town in the North of Germany. It's famous for sweet Marzipan. Currywurst is eaten in Berlin. Käsepätzle is a typical Southern German dish. They seem to throw meals from the whole of Germany "in their pots". 😉 I once went to a "Bavarian Steakhouse" in Australia, but they also had typical meals from Austria and Switzerland and the rest of Germany on their menu. 😉😄😂
Krombacher causes headache :) I do not like it. One of the worst German big beer brands. Try Radeberger or Becks (similar to Heineken)...food is not very authentic, maybe the Currywurst. It comes normally with a roll or french fries (Pommes) on the side. Schnitzel rarely comes in a roll. Kind regards from Hamburg/ Germany.
Also, Ken, should you find yourself traversing mid Michigan, right outside Frankenmuth, and the world's largest Christmas store, is Birch Run. There, you will find Tony's I75 restaurant. Their claim to fame is one full pound BLT sandwiches. A full pound of crispy bacon, between 2 slices of bread, with lettuce and tomato.
Krombacher is one of the beers that have a huge advertising budget in Germany. Most of them probably haven't drunk it yet, but they know the commercial by heart. Typical industrial beer. The landscape is in Germany and the people there call it Krombacher Island. ruclips.net/video/ZadhfMiFHa0/видео.html
I wish when I'm as old as you Ken, I'll have lots of fun and adventures with my wife, going to exotic places and eating good food, here's to more enjoyment down the road! Be well brother!
Actually the Käsespätzle looks more like "Schupfnudeln" to me. Also the southern part of Germany and not from Lübeck. Keep up the content though Ken. Love your Videos
Krombacher is a standard German pilsner beer. Pils is the most popular kind of beer in Germany and I think Krombacher is the most sold one. I personally love Pils, it's more on the bitter side but easy to drink or "süffig" as we say in Germany. Wouldn't get Krombacher if any other Pils was available though. It's a little bland and Nestlé is behind it.
There's alot good German food in "THE CINCINNATI AREA, WHICH INCLUDES NORTHERN KENTUCKY.!!!!!!" right across the bridge is the hofbrea house German outdoor food and beer. 30 diffrent German beers, best German food on this side of the pond.
and hello from germany / Baden Württemberg ( state ) Karlsruhe ( town ) obvoiously ,, americanized ,, german food !!! and ,, yes ,, a Pils beer is mainly bitter must be an american thing to eat a ,, Brezel ,, with mustard or cheese .... in germany we eat them plain or with Butter 😊 and the ,, Käsespätzle ,, look not even close to Käsespätzle from germany
Krombacher is okay I guess, although I prefer beers from Bavaria, in the south of Germany. Go look for Augustiner or Erdinger beers, they're really great. Or, if you wanna get something really special, hunt for Tegernseer or Traunsteiner beers. You might be able to get them in stores that specialize on imported beers, or you take a trip to Bavaria & check out these beers in their home country.
Nice camera work in the conservatory Ken. The food looked fantastic! Cincinnati is just 4 hours up the road from me here in Tennessee so I just might have to take a road trip. Thank you for sharing another great video Ken and Carol.
As a German I might add that the sizes are not German at all. Especially for 2023, since the green party took over here, most people can only afford 10% of these sizes for food.
Carol is so pretty today. When you tell her it's the to go to the camp ground and she smiles. So pretty! And when ya'll talk about the lemonade being frozen. Keep up the great work.
Just wanna say I love you man I used to see you when I was in 3rd grade which is like 2012 year I used to watch burgers videos and got addicted to you back then Now seeing you still here and still being healthy it’s whole another feel Now I’m in college things change so much Take care Burger King 🤴 ❤
Not impressed by the German cousine, never was. Currywurst ffs! Curry has nothing to do with Germany. It´s Indian. Döner? Thats from Turkey. Germany can only be really proud of their sausage and sauerkraut, Käsepätzle and maybe the Schnitzel.
cactus 🌵 are real easy to take care of. my mother kept a lot of blooming cactuses. you can twist off a leaf tip plant 🪴 it will start a new plant.they bloom once a year at Christmas time i think i don’t remember. Flower pot size depends on how big you want it to get. when you do water you feed stick with miracle grow stuff. keep an aloe vera plant 🪴 to great for burns. you won’t hurt the plant it’ll re grow its leaves 🍃. sun burns verses the synthetic be great for moose 🫎 to put an artificial plant. with a window ample sun light you have rotate the pot they love sun light.
Funny because pretzels were invented in Poland, not in Germany. it is a national product from the city of Krakow. So is sausage or "Kiełbasa", the national product of Poland. The Germans just chopped it up and added curry spice to the krtchup. Same thing with schnitzel. In Poland, it is a national dinner served every Sunday in every other home. It was popular much earlier than the Germans spawned it. In Japan, same situation, only they called it Katsu after that. Think about whether you eat German or Polish dishes in the film?
My guy, you have to get your facts together. Pretzels are an invention from the germanic areas of europe like germany, switzerland and austria. Obwarzanek krakowski, wich are closely related to bagels and the pretzels are indeed a polish specialty. And sausage was invented way before germany or poland were even a thing. The word schnitzel you are using is german, so what are you talking about? Its obviously a german food staple. I think you are just hating on the germans. Poland has a great history of its own that you can be proud of. No need to talk nonsense like schnitzels are a polish national dish.
Looks like the most unauthentic Käsespätzle ever 😂
Looks more like Schupfnudeln...

As a german: Those are not Käsespätzle. And it wouldn't be possible to have the cheese aside of german Käsespätzle.
Even if you can’t eat cheese?
@@KBDProductionsTVwith cheese =Käse spätzle
without cheese = Spätzle. Käse= cheese
You could do a chicken sandwich competition
Don't get me wrong, I love QCR, I lived next to it when they opened. But it is not the best German food in the city, not even close.
The best Currywust you can get is from Dönninghaus in Bochum. The Käsespätzle look very wired, normally the nudels are much smaller. As beer I have to recommend Veltins, im living 5 miles away from the brewery, but Krombacher and also Warsteiner are from the same region.
Butter and a good hot steel pan is the mistery, every german granny did this... .for "Das Schnitzel"

Pretzel was HUGE!!!
There is a very nice conservatory in Ann Arbor MI. no charge. 😀
Schnitzel and Pretzel look amazing! Käsespätzle has an interesting new twist 😂 Great video!
Yeah, Krombacher 👍🏻
hilarious april fools video!
Its Bockwurst and warm Ketchup and Curry Powder
You need to try some Pierogis that area is known for them.

Can't help but be reminded of that old 90's movie "Bio Dome" when you're visiting the conservatory 😂 Thanks for bringing us along Ken & Carol 🤘😄🤘
Are you heading out to Cleveland any time soon?🤔🤔🤔🤔
The conservatory was in the movie Airborne.
Or at least a recreation of it.

He already has multiple videos there.
Holy schnitzel! That's how big I want all my sandwiches to be - smaller or average sized buns but frisbee sized meat patty.

Hey! Ever heard of Hanna-Barbera?
Wonderful, a good altbier is preferable, sadly I can’t drink now, but Diebels used to be good.
Next time you visit stop at Izzy’s and LaRosa’s Pizza Ken . Nice video
You should go to longwood gardens in Delaware county
I live right around Krohns, hope you liked your trip to cincy
You gotta do the Cincinnati Reds Hall Of Fame.
Try veltins its also from germany ken
I’ve been to the conservatory, assuming you went to Hofbrauhaus, it’s awesome too
Never been to the Lübecker but looks really good
I was thinking he'd go to Hofbrau too. They're good, but they're outrageously expensive. Couldn't have gotten half the food for what he paid here.
@@cgraham6 yeah we usually end up splitting the platter thing they have with schnitzel, pretzel, bratwurst, etc but even that’s expensive
I would hate to bug you if I ever saw you both eating but I would have to say hi you guys are amazing
Currywurst is originally from Berlin
Come to grand Rapids Michigan
Nice schnitzel!
