These two years are the "year of the Mack double-launch"! Wow - with Blackpool's brilliant "Icon", and Sweden's amazing "Helix" and now "Copperhead" ... beautiful trains, thrilling elements, superb engineering [and if it's anything like Icon ... low queue-time too]. I rode Icon three weeks ago - it was brilliant ... and only had 1 inversion and 1 Immelman! ... but best UK rollercoaster anyway .. just because it was beautiful to ride.
Icon is AWESOME! ... and it's double-launch ... but it only has 1 inversion, and 1 Immelman ... and, rightly, it's been named as Britain's best coaster by a number of experienced coaster addicts. I rode Icon ... it is smooth, but fast and exciting ... Copperhead will no-doubt be the same .. maybe even more exciting.
If you notice the tight layout then the 42 mph should be great. It really has element after element. Also did everyone notice the airtime hill in the 2nd launch
Mack are the world's best roller coaster makers - and the variations of their double-launch model are the envy of every park that doesn't have one! Everyone in the UK is raving about "Icon" ... and that only has 1 inversion.
Icon is brilliant - especially because of the tight spaces they had to work with ... it's an engineering masterpiece, and a great coaster. This ride looks like it has more elements ... and, as you say, a beautiful hill during the second launch. I wish I could go on it ... it looks awesome!
I think this ride looks AMAZING!!!!!!!! The loops look so tight, they are almost circular. This will make for very forceful loops. You go over some of those Airtime moments so fast and it has some inversions that looks to just hang you there. And that 2nd launch that has that airtime hill in the middle of it ... WOW. Yes, it does look to have pacing issues, but no Coaster if perfect. I so excited for this ride to open!
Cosmic Cretin I hoping for some surprise latteral's between the turns, but I'm not going to go in with the expectation that they will by there so I don't set my expectations to high, as they are already really high for this ride.
The first part reminds me of Thunderbird where you have special theming right before the Launch. I also think this has to be the most theming Cedar Fair has ever done!
The more I watch this, the more I love it. It's small and slow, but the layout more than makes up for it, the fact that it's slow is its advantage since it gets lots of hangtime, yet still has good pacing and some strong g's.
Ok where we're y'all when twisted cyclone stats looked small nobody was saying this then, even though twisted cyclone better than this. But nobody saying it then it's just carolwind fanboys happy they got a new coaster I feel y'all tho I was like that last year for twisted cyclone
Everything can’t be extremely fast, sort of like Time Traveler, people were dissing the hell out of that ride when it was announced for it’s lackluster speed, but it is one of the best rides at SDC now, with this, the layout has no straight sections other than the first launch, so don’t judge something before you ride it.
Carowinds is my home park, and i have to say that this layout is much much better than i thought it was going to be, it’s definitely gonna take my #2 or maybe even #1 spot
You know what I looked at the 42 mph launch before and said that it would be too slow but now I have changed my mind because I think that the elements and the compact layout will make up for it. The airtime hill is amazing after the loop and the hangtime moments should make this really good. The only Mack I have been on is Helix and maybe because of that I was being a bit to critical launch and speed wise but overall this coaster looks really good and is lengthy for a launched coasterThat launched airtime hill though wow
SoKno Loco afterburn could get torn down for all i care, thats the ride that knocked me out so hard i had to leave Carowinds, when i went back i rode it twice to see if i just had a bad ride, it was hard staying conscious, its not smooth, i just cant stand afterburn, worst b&m i have ever ridden
Between it and Montu I can't decide which is my favorite B&M invert. With Raptor, Batman, and Banshee following in some order after. I've definitely never had a rough ride and loved marathoning it late on an slower Haunt night. It's a front or back of train ride for me with other seats a bit less desirable. Anyway we all have opinions just thought I'd show my work as well. So it's known I don't hate on Intimidator as much as some it's just one of the weaker hypers out there.
RICHEY099 I don’t if it’s just you but after burn is amazing one of my many favorite inverts. It could just be the person or the time period in which you rode it.
Okay, so the trains seem to be themed after a truck, and the story is that you are escaping from grandma out of a barn. Where does a copperhead come into play here? This is not a hater comment. I'm looking forward to this ride.
So Copperhead snake is a type of snake known in the Carolinas. When They are referring to copperhead in the story line it is about the moonshine process. You usually make moonshine in a copper pot.
One if you put copperhead venom in the jam it would kill you. 2, copperhead strike is the name of the moonshine granny Byrd chose because all the copperhead snakes she killed in her barn and cornfield.😀 your welcome for the clarification it took me a few minutes to figure it out myself
I will say some ppl are probably disappointed that this isn't the first MAC hyper launch coaster. BUT, this does indeed look like a REALLY REALLY solid ride! I think it's unique and I think it's a fantastic fit for Carowinds. I've never got to go to carowinds, but this makes me even more eager to make the voyage there one day.
A great fit for this park. I'm excited to ride this. Great work Taylor. By the way i got 6 RIDES in a row on steel vengance with a 4 minute wait. I might be the luckiest enthusiast to ever exist.😂
This looks so cool! Have been on 2 Mack launched coasters and they disappointed me a bit but this looks so nice. The people on ride could be a bit more enthusiastic :D
They can do no wrong - Icon in the UK is so beautifully made ... the Mack family deserves loads of US contracts. Icon was only £16.25 million ... despite all of the intricacies of engineering around and through other rides in Blackpool. [the Macks are tight with the Thompsons - so maybe Amanda got a cheap deal!] There's a solidness to the ride that makes you feel that nothing can go wrong - that you are essentially riding beauty in rollercoaster form! The USA is getting a proper beautiful rollercoaster this time.
This looks like its going to be a pretty sweet ride but so far Maxxforce and West Coast Racers still hold my undivided attention. 2019 is going to be a great year for coaster enthusiasts!👍
All the people complaining about the speed seem to forget that there is Fury 325 in the same park. This looks to be a great lauch coaster by Mack. Maybe not quite the second coming of Helix but still excellent and fun.
Amazing layout, that ejector and hangtime looks insane. My only complaint is the turn after the second loop could of have been filled with air time if it was a bit smaller. 3:30 for reference.
Ew a vertical loop? What in the WORLD were they thinking? This ride looks awesome! And nothing but lap bars! Also, I was mocking the people that were upset with the coaster that Canada's Wonderland is getting lol
Come on people, you can never judge a roller coaster simply based on its stats - just because you think it is "slow" doesn't mean that it is bad. Keep in mind that stats do not change the forces, smoothness, airtime, and hangtime that we will feel on Copperhead Strike once it opens in 2019.
I'm gonna give Mack credit for these interesting maneuvers they've been pulling right out of the gate with these newer family coasters. While I think this would be better as a spinning coaster like time traveler, it still looks like a blast to ride and one you could convince any gp family member to ride.
Six flags breaks the record for fastest inversion meanwhile cedar fair breaks the record for slowest inversion. (Please don't crucify me, this ride looks really good)
2019 is the year of the Launch Coaster
Spencer Calderon it really is!
except for in Canada
Spencer Calderon ejector paridise

That airtime Hill after the loop looks absolutely insane Man
I think you can compare it a bit with the airtime hill after the first launch of Icon.
Allison McGovern you still have shivering Timbers 👍
Brian Spijkers yeah but a little bit better I think
@Allison McGovern I live hours and hours from _any_ rollercoaster X-D
Launched air time hill? Sign me up
I've experienced the one on Pulsar at Walibi Belgium (also from Mack Rides), and I must say that it's indeed pretty good!
Mack>Premier
Your Average Robeater true
"Icon" at Blackpool, UK
It launches you through a misty tunnel ... and then you're there! ... an awesome air-time hill ...
Six flags should star working with Mack instead of Premier
I love how compact this is!
I've ridden enough Mack Launch Coasters to know one thing, never underestimate them.
Icon is AWESOME! ... and it's double-launch ... but it only has 1 inversion, and 1 Immelman ... and, rightly, it's been named as Britain's best coaster by a number of experienced coaster addicts.

I'm ready...the hangtime looks awesome!!!
This could be the best Mack Launch coaster so far. Insanely great Layout and that 2nd Launch looks like a stupid amount of fun.
If you notice the tight layout then the 42 mph should be great. It really has element after element. Also did everyone notice the airtime hill in the 2nd launch

@@archermav icon is cool but it only has 1.5 inversions. This coaster has a hill in the middle of the second launch. A first.

This has some great ejector
Rolling Coasters I think the first loop is a perfect circle
The forces are low in the first loop which justifies a perfect circle. Shame the trains can't duel there (or can they?)
Cosmic Cretin Having ridden ICON recently, I don’t think they will be weak points. ICON is the most fun I’ve ever had on a rollercoaster.
The first part reminds me of Thunderbird where you have special theming right before the Launch. I also think this has to be the most theming Cedar Fair has ever done!
CSRT4 Ever Yukon Striker could have a super themed station, this entire ride is themed
I caught that too, the flickering lights before the launch. Thunderbird has an amazing sound system for the thunder. I wonder if we'll get the same.
Have you ever been to Knotts? It’s an amazing park and my personal favorite park. (I’ve only been to parks on the West Coast)
@@frostbitemansion9610 is Discovery Kingdom worth visiting for coaster folks like us? I'm coming from Europe next month
This coaster really gives me an Icon vibe, except with more inversions and better theming
I really like the layout. The second launch is through an airtime hill! Great addition to an already awesome coaster collection.
I’ll take hangtime over speed. This ride looks amazing!
Smiler gets around its low lift heights with 14 hangtime inversions. Even with OTSRs it's great. Can valley in high winds though
Thank God it’s a lap bar
Mack are lapbar people
I love their train design - including the restraints ... aesthetically beautiful.
The more I watch this, the more I love it. It's small and slow, but the layout more than makes up for it, the fact that it's slow is its advantage since it gets lots of hangtime, yet still has good pacing and some strong g's.

Dr. Clout I agree. States don't change the forces we will feel on the ride.

This is much better than I was expecting! I’m glad carowinds is my home park I can’t wait to ride
That launch on the hill looks insane!
Ok, that first loop is gonna be flippin intense!
The second launch goes over a airtime hill this ride is going to be sick! Can’t wait!
That’s one funky ride! I love the tight layout and it looks very fun.
Looks AWESOME. that’s got to be some of the best looking hangtime I’ve seen
I feel like it could be a little faster though
I am so PUMPED for this one! Cannot wait for 2019 to get on it! The jojo roll in the start and the launched airtime hill, oh boy.
_This is the moment we've all been waiting for._
That second launch looks crazy!
That looks like a lot of fun. Inversion straight out the station.

LoL
And with every new coaster announcement we get hate in the comment sections... life of a coaster enthusiast ughh...

Garret Miller ppl r just picky and ungreatful
All I'm seeing are Jojo roll comments followed by at least 5 Jojo's Bizarre Adventure meme replies.

A scaled up version of this would be awesome.
That’s a perfect amount of inversions
That hang time right from the start!
2019: year of the launch coasters
I’m screaming in the middle of the lunch room seeing this. My home park got another coaster!

They should honestly put music on this ride. The song that play while the train is doing all the work would fit perfectly on this.
That inverted top hat is bigger than I expected. It mabye a bit slow but look forward to the hangtime.
