I feel like Natalie's style has stayed pretty consistent throughout both story lines. The reason for this is because I think she has the strongest will of all the characters and is actually coping the best out of everyone, despite the drug use and suicidal tendencies. She feels guilt for what she did and that's very human and understandable. She is the moral compass of the Yellowjackets. Her cool punk style is also very unapproachable and intimidating to keep people at a distance. The incorporation of purple into her wardrobe in season 2 obviously reflects Lotties hold over her and we see her very unique and telling style falling away to assimilate into this cult Lottie has created. I do think we will see Natalies original punk style return by the end of the season after the other older Yellowjackets arrive to help snap her out of Lottie's influence. I still think Nat is out to trick Lottie into lowering her guard, despite the hypnosis session. Telling the compound about the money and ID theft didn't work, so Nat has to try a different angle. She can't move around in the group if they don't trust her, especially if Lot thinks Nat isn't a believer.
@@nekrataali I agree. I don't think adult Nat is taken in by Lottie even after the hypnosis session. I keep going back to adults -- Tai and Shauna -- agreeing they wouldn't have survived without Nat.
Overdosing at least once, a lifetime of drug abuse, and coming within 5 seconds of killing yourself is NOT coping better than all of them. I get that people like her the most. That doesn’t mean she is the best at coping or “better” than anyone else.
@@JohnTorres1987 Drugs & alcohol is how she copes with living in the present & not the fight or flight stage. She is recreating it by the substances...treading on life & death fence.
i think coach ben would also be more frequently in his uniform and in the same clothes because he doesn't have as many clothes that fit available to him like. fewer suitcases to draw from as opposed to the girls who have a lot more they can wear
The girls probably took the suitcases of their deceased temamates as well, but Coach Ben would not wear Coach Martinez's clothes out of respect for Travis and Javi. But shouldn't there be more man sized clothes in the cabin that the dead owner left behind?
A teacher/high school coach would never share clothes with his students maintaining proper boundaries. Also one of the reasons he couldn't eat Jackie. They're on a totally different trip.
I think it also metaphorical tk separate him and his mindset from othwr group. Similar to how Jackie was separated from group

Walter wore shorts to show off his calves because Misty says on her date at the beginning of s1 that she finds toned calves a turn on. He has done his homework and wore shorts on purpose to catch Misty's eye because he knows what she likes.

Im very aware of how much Adult Shauna is wearing Vermilion , and especially a Vermilion Jacket ( not a Yellowjacket).
And i love this from an Etymological standpoint as Vermilion comes from Late Latin vermiculus "a little worm," ( that they made the dye from, not dissimilar from Lotties community)

That was super interesting! I really like what they've done with the clothes that are worn in the wilderness, them switching and sharing and changing the clothes also is part of their group dynamic.

Sorry if this has already been addressed in another video, but one of my gnawing questions as a fan of the show is: where did the teens get the winter-specific clothes that they wear in Season 2 as the wilderness descends into its harsh winter season? The Yellowjackets ostensibly had packed to spend maybe a week max. in Seattle for Nationals. Everyone should have packed lightly; with a few t-shirts, a couple extra pairs of jeans, uniform short pants for the soccer tournament, a pretty dress (suit, ties and dress shirts for Javi and Coach) for a celebratory dinner at the hotel (which ended up being worn for "Doomcoming"), plus socks, a couple pair of shoes (along with their soccer cleats), socks and undergarments. The tournament was to be held in May (Coach and Paul had had that discussion), or maybe first week of June? Seattle might have been chilly, or even have had rainy weather, but none of the girls and male characters could have anticipated being stranded in the Canadian Rockies all the way through to winter that they would have brought heavy winter coats and hats along with them for protection from the elements. Some fans have speculated that the coats were found in the dead hunter's closet in the cabin. What say you, the Wardrobe Peeps? Where'd the winter clothes come from?
It's a great question! Judging by what Amy said in the interview, a lot of the time we're actually just seeing them swap one or two big coats (she talks about how Travis's jacket is "the warm jacket") and share the few warm items they have - rather than each having lots in their cases. In the video she, and we, also talk a lot about how their hats and gloves etc are all made from other clothing items - they're repurposed and reused to suit the needs of the group.
I’ve seen a few scenes where they are wearing shorts with high socks outside in the snow to creat makeshift pants. I think a lot of it is them making due, which I guess explains them wanting to take Jackie’s coat before cremating her
I think some of it was in the cabin.
Sounds like we are getting a big twist/event in episode 8 that changes how these ladies dress and how clean they are.
