  • Forty-fifth track day. Running the freshly repaved Sonoma Raceway.
Had high hopes for this event and it delivered. No rain, PB weather, new pavement, track buddies, and fresh tires.
New pavement is really nice. Much smoother all around and your tires REALLY let you know they are doing something. Tons of feedback. Curious how it will be after a few months of rubber deposits. I'm not convinced the track is much faster at least for the moment? Maybe 1-2 second if you really had sonoma down prior to repave.
Ended up destroying my old PB. Mainly due to fresh V730s over super heat cycled RS4's last event. Shaved over 4 seconds and ran a 1.52.06. Definitely on track to beat my F80 pre-repave lap. (1.51.8). Still time on the table with this setup.
As is tradition with the E46 and PB laps. The gopro ate shit and will be sold off for a working model.... Best lap with gopro footage was a 1.52.16. Thank goodness the catalyst doesn't mess up!
Sonoma hasn't been fed any sacrifices in a few months and decided to eat a Porsche GT3 and Miata NC among a few other casualties. Still have never been to Sonoma and not seen a car get smashed.
Was my second event with a front Hotchkis sway bar. This time I ran it in the softest setting and received non of the understeer I had on medium at thill west. Still has a more planted feel overall.

"Sonoma hasn't been fed any sacrifices in a few months and decided to eat a Porsche GT3 and Miata NC among a few other casualties." Laughing and crying here--Sunday was rough.

Damn that yellow S2000 at 6:02 was ridiculously fast. Is it a supercharged AP2? There is an Elite Racing S2K (maybe a built NA motor) which can do 1:33-1:34 at Laguna which is incredible.

That would be Gary the alien from Elite Performance. NA S2000. Did a 1:40 the same day I was there. ruclips.net/video/9FTPauRwh0E/видео.html
