The mother holding her son's face was doing the right thing. Any sudden movements from her or son and the bear would have attacked them. They were trying to show they weren't a threat to the bear. Move if you want but it wouldn't have ended well

What’s funny is that the seal was chasing a fish before it vanished on him. So the Seal thought the fisherman took his food till he realized he didn’t have it on him. The seal was like “Oh shit! Sorry dude!” before diving back into the water
The last time you want to do is startle a black bear. While they are generally passive, sudden movement triggers them to swipe at what moved. The woman remaining still is the reason that clip ended without injury.

With Black Bears you aren’t supposed to walk/run or turn your back. If they tried to walk away the Black Bear could have attacked. Black Bears are usually passive towards humans anyways and usually hide when they see humans. So if a Black Bear approaches you and your family there is like a 98% chance you will be fine. There have even been instances where people have picnics with Black Bears because the Black Bear approached them.
Most mfs don't know that. Especially that bear being small and fairly skinny.

the guy yelling at the bear actually did the right thing, bears look for prey, if you present like an opponent and a potential fight most black bears and brown bears will look for easier food
brown bears.. no. black bears can be intimidated and convinced you're not worth messing with, if they're not particularly interested in being wherever they are. brown bears have the confidence to match their size and know you're bluffing if you try and intimidate them.

“Why would you just stay there?” Because running from a bear/movement makes them come after you even more. You either make yourself big and loud before they get to you or stay absolutely still. Your only 2 survival options if you have no shelter.

exactly. if what you're doing is not drawing the bears attention and allowing it to ignore you, perfect! the last thing you want is that bears attention. bears are dangerous but generally black bears are not that aggressive, if you're neutral, they're often happy to just go on their way if they've done what they wanted to do or eaten what they wanted to eat.

You are taught in survival school when it comes to Bears the best thing you could do is just stand still and don't look at it because if it wants you you're not going to outrun it and if you try to run it may get spooked and take that as a sign of aggression
The one with the shark that was upside down, when sharks are flipped like this they go into a what’s called “Tonic Imobility”. Basically their senses are garbled making them vulnerable to attacks. Killer whales and Dolphins are smart enough to do this to sharks.

You don't want to startle that bear, they did the right thing, they stayed still and quiet. Why escalate things if you don't have to. it's also just the correct thing to do. that bear is thin, which means it's hungry. you'll see plenty of videos of guides for hikers demonstrating how effective it is to just stay still around a black bear and not engage with them, even if they're curious and trying to touch you. that bear dosen't care about them, so keep doing whatever you're doing that is NOT drawing that bears attention. he will happily go along his way after he's done eating.
