I just graduated college a few days ago. Every academic group project is agony because there’s always the one that wants a 100, and another that refuses to do anything/you can never get ahold of. So glad to be done with those kind of group projects.
This is how I felt every group project in college. Anytime people aren’t majoring in the subject they don’t care about making anything above a C because it doesn’t relate to their core studies. As a CS major this felt too close to home.
jocelyn wadland did a really good job in this. Usually these short films you have to sit some pretty bad acting. But she was very good. Cool premise and well done.
Wow ❤ this is a beautiful psychological movie. To me, it talks about the danger of not being able to develop assertiveness and plain self-love. Nobody can sustain forever being treated like a doormat and pushing down own needs. If not learnt in the healthy way, it can explode one day in a bad way through what she sees as her “monster” inside. Her needs became a monster because she did not listen to them. You, author of this beautiful movie, showed me myself 30 years ago ❤ minus the people killing, of course 😊
Jocelyn Wadland is fantastic as Mira! Poor Mira was so fragile and lonely, just wanted to belong, I wanted to give her a hug and protect her . And the end , lol, I was totally fine w/ what she did and would have aquitted her if this was real life.
Very good acting indeed! Anyone in any of these situations with roomates or classmates i'm sure recognized each of these charactes/personalities or may even BE them. Gosh it takes so so so little to be kind, she cpuld have just told her thank you but im not interested from the beginning instead of leading her on, pretending to be nice and saved both of them ( and the guy) alot o trouble. Also: you never know who has a demon thing waiting for the right jerk to force their inert dark powers to awaken, soooo.......
Everyone sympathizing and saying they feel sorry for her, because she's lonely and friendless. If she were a guy, he'd be seen as a creepy, pathetic, incel loser. She's not entitled to people liking her or giving her attention.
Dude. This was INSANELY good. I cried. I screamed. I was nervous. I was excited. I was rooting for her. And then, even when I wasn’t, I still kinda was. Haha. THIS IS A MASTERPIECE!!!!!
So the demon represents her loneliness and seems she is desperate to be liked by everyone but when she realises whatever she does is not fruitful she herself would become demon and kill people who walk over her .. a vulnerable girl who just want to be noticed and has lots to offer .. reminds me of my past
Really good film. I enjoyed more from watching what happened with Mira than the circumstance of her demon keeping her awake. I think it all contributed to what happened at the end. Seems she could have something that inherently made people think she was a creep, or her roommate was able to convince everyone with how little interaction she got to have with her schoolmates. Fact is: it's an impressive film and makes me want to see more films with the same team. :)
Great film. Serious Twilight Zone vibes. The lead actress is superb, her quasi-comedy routine her best moment. Serious vulnerability there. Well done, ma’am!
Lucia Tarro, yes you who runs this channel. This was a really good short horror film, well made and I enjoyed watching this. But please don't tell me you want the viewers to view the protagonist as the so called "good guy". Good acting etc. but this comment section is insane. Mia needs to work on herself to have a better social life. Her roommates we're not even assholes. Her loneliness is selfmade and her female roommate had every right to be angry at her. Some people already pointed out in the context how Mia's morality doesn't add up. I barely felt bad for Mia throghout the movie, at the beginning a bit but definetly not in the end. But for her roommates that kept up with her bs and got killed. Good short horror film, but people take the wrong message from it I think.
It's fiction. Obviously, in real life, many people would know that she has a big problem in her mind. But in this type of content, we enjoyed as what it is: a fiction.
Honestly loved it. It was amazing. The story was fantastic, the execution was flawless. The acting could've used some more drama, but everything else was done fantastically. I'd think this was a Jason Blum or G. D. Torro

I just don't have any superpowers, lol. I like the Demon thing as well :)

I was cool with the meditation s*** I thought it was tight by the time she said fall, my ass was already sleep, then that crazy ass voice came on Man I cut that s*** off and took my ass to sleep LOL
I feel that there is no moral here. You have different crowds of folks in the movie. The protagonist is introverted and lonely. That's not unusual. Her roommates are just the opposite of her, i.e., the opposite of academically inclined and diligent. They are also also not very sensitive, but that's probably with each other, not just her. They seek gratification from partying rather than intimate bonding. She probably wouldn't have enjoyed joining them -- quite the opposite. I can't imagine the social dynamic unfolding in any other way. In fact, it seems contrived for her to be roommating with them to begin with, but I guess these things happen from time to time. She eventually has to find people like her, though that is not easy. I see nothing unusual about the oil-and-water incompatibility between her and her roommates. That's why I don't see a lesson here. The disturbing thing is that gruesome death should be the just result of such a rather common incompatibility. It's more a reflection of psychopathy, in my view. Now there is one point of oddity. That fact that her Mom didn't call her back. It depends on the mental health of her Mom. If the Mom is also contending with issues of her own, then that is the reality. Or if the Mom is simply incapable of empathizing enough to remember to call back, yes, that's a personal challenge that the protagonist will have to learn to navigate.
I think the moral is that loneliness can consume you little by little She wanted to feel loved by others but it never worked and always came off as a creep ? The demon represents her loneliness I guess Honestly I think I have seen you somewhere, do you watch by any chance horror animated stories?
Absolutely love this take! I see too many people defending the protagonist. In my opinion. It's clear she doesn't care about other people's feelings. She notices her neighbours are the partying types, why not try and party with them once in a while? She sees they're not enjoying the movie, why do you still expect them to watch another one with you? She seems quite selfish, in my opinion. Only wanting to do things that benefit her. Even the group project she took on wasn't a selfless act, she did it because she wanted the validation from the group. It's all about her. That's why she can't fit in.
@candynike897 yes I agree , people who defend her are lonely themselves but never done the things she did , I feel bad for her roommate , I can tell she tried to accept the protagonist but they just don't..click, they are very different, protagonist needed to accept that and ofc not snoop around into people's rooms and privacy , she's creepy , while i feel sympathy for her as I'm someone who feels alone at times but I absolutely do not defend her creepy behavior
@@candynike897 I have to agree. I'm kind of shocked looking at the comments here. Most of the people seem to be sympathizing with her just because she is "so nice and lonely", the whole movie I was thinking to myself she is socially akward and she has to aknowledge that she has to change if she want's to have friends. She let's people take advante of her to get that short term social gratification and she doesn't give a shit that her roommates are absolutely not interested in her show. Ever asked yourself: if her roomates are so bad, why did they watch this stuff with her in the first place? they tried to give her a change and be nice to her. And her roommate being angry at her for going at her stuff and drinking her bourbon, ffs seriously she has every right to be angry. And her boyfriend was even really nice to her. And she fucking kills both? What the hell kinda message is that. That was not at all justified. And what the hell is wrong with the people in the comments actually believing her roommates deserved that? I really don't know anymore what to say at this point
This is literally Me and my no lie; right now; not even able to drive to see my girl at anytime especially when it’s supposed to be out weekend together; but her kids visiting from Arizona didn’t know that after all; even if I was promised I too could’ve visited them too lol. Ohh well. I am this girl in your movie my friend. No life’s an understatement! Goodnight!
I REALLY like this film, its probably one of my favorites this year! Bravo!! Though I do know that it is possible that some people might have actually met the devil I'd like to think that she went crazy and just killed them by hand instead of demon powers. (Although ngl having demon powers sounds super sick!lol)
Well, she now has friends to keep her company, for a little while. I would have kept the girl company. I love Jerry Lewis, and his classic movies, like, "The Nutty Professor" and many others. He cracked us up as little kids. RIP Jerry and Dean. 💞🙏

I cant believe theres so much sympathy for the devil on this thread. Mira was the bad guy and everyone is so crazy in having empathy for her. So she had her feelings hurt, we all have. This makes it okay for her to murder? You can say every serial killer has sick and sad and sometimes devastating experiences but it doesn't take away from the horrible things they chose to do. She chise to murder her housemates because her feelings were hurt. She chose to screw over her classmates because she felt some kind of way. None of this is acceptable behavior for someone decent. She is the bad guy and doesn't deserve your sympathy. Tell me you wouldn't be creeped out if you're housemate was hanging out in your room while you werevaway, touching all your things, using your stuff. Seems they trued hanging out with her, but she was only about what she liked. She could easily tell they weren't interested yet still pushed ahead instead of trying to find any kind of common ground. No! Stop siding with the serial killers! People shouldnt be murdered. Period.
exactly. This comment section here just shocks me. I can't fucking believe that 95% of the people watching this were ending this thing believing "oh yeah, poor girl, so many assholes around her, her actions were so justified". How fucking manipulative are those people? that's just batshit insane
@@akotohirosaki8868 yes. The fact that you call these people bullied just tells me that your easily manipulated through emotion. You don't think or reflect situations rationally but emotionally. These people weren't bullies. They even tried to social activity with her. She the protagonist disregards their desinterest for her hobbies and still forced everyone to push through in the beginning of the movie we see that. She also offered her mates to do the work for them and lets herself be used. All of this was a "she" problem, except for her distant mother. If the Mom is also contending with issues of her own, then that is the reality. Or if the Mom is simply incapable of empathizing enough to remember to call back, yes, that's a personal challenge that the protagonist will have to learn to navigate.
I think the moral is that loneliness can consume you little by little
She wanted to feel loved by others but it never worked and always came off as a creep ?
The demon represents her loneliness I guess
Honestly I think I have seen you somewhere, do you watch by any chance horror animated stories?
@@lumityviktuuristanartist4100 Yeah, she's quite relatable because she's lonely but there's just an extra creepiness to her.
Goodnight!
this shows a good plot and good acting go a long way. kudos
This has the same feel as Inside Number 9 (Uk programme). It's absolutely brilliant.
Absolutely LOVED it!!!!!!
Even without the monster this is horrifying. And so relatable
32:41 the eyes of the girl who broke her neck are playing
Good job well executed film.
and the demon was alcoholism all along, that's good writing
Wrong!!! Hahaha!😂 Not THAT at all!! 💘
This will probably induce my sleep paralysis for tonight.
Excellent!!! Great story and production! Bravo
THAT GAVE ME LITERAL CHILLS....IT WAS SOOO GOOD FOR A SHORT FILM.❤❤
Well done !!
EXCELLENT MOVIE...GREAT ACTING!!!!
Wow!!! This was great.. As a truly introverted horror fan I totally get this! Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see what you come up with next. 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕 out of 5.
There used 2 be a movie theater out on staten island n.y. years ago growing up called the Jerry Lewis movie theater. . It's where I saw the original clash of the titans with Harry Hamlin of L.A LAW fame . Both JAWS 1 and 2 . Oh the memories. If anybody. From statan Island from back in the day remembers. And finds this post. Please comment. Good memories. The 70s
Well done - nicely crafted and great acting!

Badass whoever did this grade A work bravo

25:05 I KNEW IT!!! when she started hitting the bottle, I KNEW! Good luck.
This one was so sad but very well done
This is one of the most best horror films I watched
No wonder she's so tired, she has League of Legends installed on her mac.
Fantastic acting! ❤
She's like a dark Matilda
I've always said that there was something wrong with Martin & Lewis fans
i love this demonish attitude.. what she did is superb.. i apprecuate Mira👏😆👌
It is so sad that we are more connected, yet, less connected then ever.
Loved it! BUT, were we supposed to feel sorry for her? If so, it didn't work with me.
Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great film!!!! Brava👏
@@artius6170 you think bullies deserve to live?
@@akotohirosaki8868 yes. The fact that you call these people bullied just tells me that your easily manipulated through emotion. You don't think or reflect situations rationally but emotionally.
These people weren't bullies. They even tried to social activity with her. She the protagonist disregards their desinterest for her hobbies and still forced everyone to push through in the beginning of the movie we see that. She also offered her mates to do the work for them and lets herself be used. All of this was a "she" problem, except for her distant mother.
And even if those people were bullies, you think those people deserve to die? Your morals are twisted
@@artius6170 I wasn't calling these characters bullies, I meant bullies in general.
@@akotohirosaki8868 most people who typically bully are often teenagers and when they grow older most of them become normal people. So no I don't think they should die
I thought all the actors did really well. But of course the lead slayed it. Good girl gone bad. 😎
