I like how you don't mess around you get the job done I also like how you work and explain everything it's really helpful one of the best videos I've seen in a while on how to
Thank you, no one mentions where in the hell the o ring goes and mine was so rusted it looked to be apart of the back of the hub. But you did, I found it and replaced the old junk one. Thank you!
i hear a metalic rattle out of my 2018 Tacoma, when i go over speed bumps or turn or go over a rocky road it has a thing metalic rattle. When I go over speed bumps in shopping centers it does it, but only when the back set of wheels go over it never when the front tires go over the speed bump. I'll look for a video of someone doing the rear ones just to see how different they are. Thank you, this video is extremely clear and helpful.
I love this video! When I started playing a few years ago, and finally got my first tube amp and pedals, I was told I would now be forever tone chasing. My next purchase is your delay and OD pedal, as I think this tone is so incredibly soulful and deep! Amazing!
Very nice video but you must be down south. I just replaced my wheel bearing my 2011 Tacoma and everything was pretty frozen had to beat it off with a sledgehammer. It’s a northern Indiana vehicle.
This is the best diy video about taco wheel bearing replacement that I've seen. Good job. One question, what size were the bolts used to push the rotor off? Subscribed
I need to replace the driver side front wheel bearing on a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. It is a two-wheel drive. Do you have a part number or a link for the assembly that you used in this video?
@@scottwalker7939 yes there are cheaply made ones and good toyota ones and everything in between. The dorman one in my experience is a decent aftermarket one. I would suggest getting it from a local auto parts store instead of online. Just in case you have one fail prematurely its allot easier to warranty it than dealing with online puchase.
I had a question I replace my hub/bearing assembly and it set of my abs sensors and pre collision on 2019 tundra . What was the part called that you said the abs sensors reads on the bearing ?
My wheel. Bearing has this scrapping and friction noise but no play. Anyways i feel the wheel very loose, vibrations and goes to one side........ Are these symptoms of a worn wheel. Bearing?
Could be starting to go bad. One way you can check is to buy a mechanic stethoscope. Lift the vehicle. Spin the front tires 1 at a time by hand and listen to the backside of the spindle at the bearing. compare the noise and see if one is louder than the other
Can you clarify the size of the threaded bolt holes at 3:30 in the video to help push the rotor off the bearing assembly? I just want to make sure I have everything on hand when I start. Thanks in advance!
As some one who was never changed a hub you completely skipped over how to remove the brake caliper ontop of that idk what even bolts you used to help remove the rotor
$196 or $198 + taxes price area. For Org. Toy factory replacement. My TK is 4x4 might make little difference. I priced one this evening 05/30/22. Price went up little from last replacement. I have better luck myself using Toy parts appear last longer. But each there own.
My truck does the same thing. Thought it was a passenger side wheel bearing but it turned out to be the drivers side. You can tell by spinning the tire and feeling for vibration in the spring above the tire. Also listening for extra noise
I like how you don't mess around you get the job done I also like how you work and explain everything it's really helpful one of the best videos I've seen in a while on how to
Straight to the point and no BS or other useless info. Great angle to show detail of what you’re explaining and doing. Thank you!

Great how-to-video.
You even told what the difference is between the 4WD and 2WD hubs
Great video! You wasted no time and explained everything. Job well-done! GBL - (owner, 2010 Toyota Tacoma)
that was literally the best tutorial i've ever seen thank you sir
Your welcome sir

Excellent how to that gets straight to the important stuff. Nothing worse than those guys that ramble on for 5 minutes on irrelevant BS. Good job.
Thank you
Great video man. No time wasted and very thorough! Thanks
Great video! You are very personable and easy to listen to and, therefore, an excellent instructor.

Buenísimo vídeo muchas gracias me ayudó mucho no soy mecánico pero lo hice Tacoma 2017 THANKS

Subscribed
I believe its s M8x1.25 Metric bolt. Thanks for Subscribing!
I think that is the size. A must for taco tool box.
Just had to go get this size and it worked perfectly
Well done
How much does a job like that cost for both left and right?
Thanks man
Thank you for sharing this content. Was wondering if u need alignment after installs?
How did you remove that little dust cap off the old assembly?
I need to replace the driver side front wheel bearing on a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. It is a two-wheel drive. Do you have a part number or a link for the assembly that you used in this video?

@@FixItPhillip how to determine whether to buy a 400$ Hub assembly or a 100$ Hub assembly. Are there cheaply made Hub assemblies?

What wrenches are you using I like the leverage you got
I have 155k miles on my 2014 Tacoma. Passenger side front bearing is fine. Drivers side needs replacing.
Documetal muy bueno
It looks like you tightened them pretty hard. Could you estimate the foot pounds of torque?
Is the process the same on 3rd gen tacomas?
You don’t need to grease them?
What size are those bolts to help get the rotor out?
Thanks
I believe its s M8x1.25 Metric bolt. Thanks for Subscribing!
FixItPhillip Thank you Sir.
M8 x 1.25 confirmed. I just bought some and used them
What how to torque ?
I had a question I replace my hub/bearing assembly and it set of my abs sensors and pre collision on 2019 tundra . What was the part called that you said the abs sensors reads on the bearing ?
The back side of the bearing is a built in reluctor wheel that the sensor reads
Why didn’t you use a torque wrench?
My wheel. Bearing has this scrapping and friction noise but no play. Anyways i feel the wheel very loose, vibrations and goes to one side........ Are these symptoms of a worn wheel. Bearing?

@@FixItPhillip the 2 bearings sound the same like, there is no more lubrication on them.

I believe its a M8x1.25 metric bolt. Im happy this video was helpful. Thank you for Subscribing brotha
Its threaded holes in the actual rotor M8 x 1.25 metric i believe. Good luck with your vehicle!
What size bolts did you put in the rotor to take it off?
M8 x 1.25 I believe
@@FixItPhillip thanks

Would it be similar to replace a front driver side hub on a 2012 tundra RWD?
Yes I believe they sell the whole complete bearing and hub assembly pre pressed together like the tacomaand should be very similar
@@FixItPhillip I appreciate the info. I ordered the whole hub assembly by doorman. Thanks for the how to video!
What can I do if the wheel bearing is stuck once I took off the 4 bolts
Tap the bearing with a hammer
great video man! there are some on amazon without the o-ring. can you purchase the o ring separately?
Its just a oring to keep out dust/moisture. I'm sure you can either reuse the original one or they shouldn't be much at the dealer
@@FixItPhillip thanks!!
my 2010 front drinker side wheel hub assembly looks nothing like this.
Where did you purchase the assembly from and what brand did you go with?
It was premium one from napa, i dont recall the exact part number, thanks for the question, plz be sure to Subscribe! much appreciated!
Did the new hub assembly come with the dust cap that goes in the middle?
No I used the original one
eBay has the OEM koyo brand for $185 plus tax
Fantastic video, do you know the cost of that wheel bearing?
$196 or $198 + taxes price area. For Org. Toy factory replacement. My TK is 4x4 might make little difference. I priced one this evening 05/30/22. Price went up little from last replacement. I have better luck myself using Toy parts appear last longer. But each there own.
Someone can help me with the part number for Tacoma 2011 2 WD genuine part , because the web side show me any options 😢😢😢 and I need the whole part
As far as i know It comes as separate pieces from toyota unfortunately. The hub would need to be pressed onto the bearing
When I drive makes a humming noise but when I make a right turn noise goes away
My truck does the same thing. Thought it was a passenger side wheel bearing but it turned out to be the drivers side. You can tell by spinning the tire and feeling for vibration in the spring above the tire. Also listening for extra noise
Unicorn Toyota Tacomas this is a BIG NO! not what you see. Good luck everyone with those
Where's the axle?
That vehicle was 2wd.
Oh! Duh haha!!!
Not important to torque the hub bolts?
Torque them to what your vehicle calls for.
Its very important. Crows foot at 90 degrees to wrench shaft will give you an accurate torque measurement. Just make sure its 90 degrees.
9:10, do you need to crank that hard?
I'm not using all my force lol. They should be fairly tight
where's the axel?
2wd
59 Ft pounds for the 4 bolts that hold it in
nevermind sorry just watched until the very end.
Torque to spec with a crows foot 90 degrees to torque wrench shaft... jesus christ
what size bolt did you use for the rotor removal ?
