Been having eating problems, but my weight is up enough for me to feel comfortable drinking while I watch your videos. It's been 6 months of watching dry. Cheers, guys!
I just bought a bottle of Laphroaig based on you guys talking about it, I've never had an Islay whisky before and I don't really like Scotch that much but I wanted to expand my palette. All I can think is where has this been all my life! Thank you so much for that and for being so responsive to the drunk guy binge watching the show.
I've never been a Fiff fan. My father gifted this 14 to me because he didn't like it as it was gifted to him and he's a bourbon drinker. Let me say, this blew away all expectations. I'd heavily consider buying it down the road if I saw a can't miss price on it. I can now say there is a Glenfiddich that pleases my palate, saying this as someone who heavily favors Islay drams.
Agreed with everything your said on the 14. Bought this one at Easter and almost all of it has mysteriously disappeared. The flavors that's are inside this bottle can't be knocked. Love every drop.
i've been a bourbon drinker since i started in this game a few years ago and haven't been able to really deal with the peat of scotch, but lately i've been more open to it. i like this one so far (first glass). it's got enough of that smoke to know it's scotch and not bourbon, but it's not overpowering and seems smooth to me.
Hey Daniel and Rex, any thoughts on the traditional Japanese whisk(e)y (and other spirits) drink the mizuwari? It's essentially using the spirit (often Japanese single malt) as a cordial/squash/dilute in ice water. Obviously you lose almost all the nuance due to dilution and cold, but like whisk(e)y on the rocks, it can be very refreshing on a hot summer day..
Dudes. This was a STELLAR bottle of whiskey. I did the same comparison and can catch a char so beautiful im sold for life. Ill be puttimg a bottle of this up for when im 60. Im 36. Ill be saving this experience for my elderly years and i know ill remember watching u guys when i 1st tried it
I call this the single malt scotch that tries to be bourbon------LOVE IT..... Just finished a nicely oxidized bottle of this in my collection by pouring a huge dram (chewing on it now), and poured the remaining bottom few shots in to my infinity scotch malt whisky bottle..... SLAINTE!
Im so happy I saw this video, Ive been looking for a whisky to celebrate my college graduation and Ive been leaning towards the king Alexander. My decision has been made.
I can say this is definitely not the normal for glenfiddich. Nonpeated, yet still a little smoke. Close your eyes and your sipping a smooth full bodied bourbon.
Any chance you could review the Glenfiddich Age Of Discovery Bourbon Cask Reserve? I loved the Bourbon Barrel Reserve they did and am curious about the 19yr aged 'Age Of Discovery'
I swear, if you offered your sommelier program around the SF Bay Area I would sign up faster than you could say "Single Malt". Speaking of San Francisco, do you have anything in the vault from the distilleries in the Bay Area? I haven't tried many myself and would be cool to see you two review a couple.
after starting my scotch exposure with Gordon & McPhail (Longmorn) 15 year scotch and the (purple) Longmorn 15, the Glenfiddich Bourbon Reserve taunted me to try it (and JW Gold 18). The Glenfiddich Bourbon Reserve has become my "go to" daily (the better to make the Longmorn last a bit longer)... :) Loved learning about scotch from TWV. Cheers
So I just did a tasting with this whiskey, glenmorangie, monkey shoulder, highland park, and macallen. They were all good, I’m not saying any of them were bad but the glenfidich 14 won my buy. I could only buy one and it beat all the others. After doing that tasting I went ahead and tried dolmore 12 and laphroaig 10. Dolmore was alright. Let’s talk about laphroaig. I nosed it. I thought I knew what was coming when I put the glass to my lips. Boy was I wrong. That’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced in my life. And all I could do was smile. It was amazing. And it’s been 3 hours, I still taste it. Next is ardbeg.
Interesting. I have a rather novice palette, but I love Laphroaig, and I tasted Glenfiddich 12 at a wedding rehearsal, and asked for it for Christmas. I was given the 14 BBR and found it to be a bit underwhelming. I didn't get any smoke at all out of it and it seemed alot more mild than what I usually drink. Of course, the more I drink it, the more I kinda discover, but I didn't find the BBR to be vibrant at all, I found it to be very smooth.
I saw the one video on Suntory, are there any plans for other Japanese whisky's? Yamazaki 12 has absolutely spoiled me on whisky as the most delicious brown liquid to touch these lips
Wizard Academy fantastic! I just found this channel from the modern rouge channel and I'm hooked. I'll be watching this series in reverse all night now, thanks!
Hey guys I often see many whiskeys that label themselves as "small batch". Could you discuss what exactly constitutes a whiskey as small batch? Because I would imagine that a small batch from a distillery like Wild Turkey would be "Larger" then a small batch from Bowmore.
There's actually no definition of "small batch" although it typically means smaller than usual runs. Different people think of "smaller numbers" as a relative thing ;-)
Holy shit man. Just got the package you sent. Would you shoot me an email? daniel at whiskymarketing dot org. I want to get your address, and send you something your letter reminded me of. One of my guys through away the box you sent after getting the goodies out of it.
Don't get me started on our Blendageddon barrel. There was a scandalous series of events that happened off camera... Let's just say, Daniel has some explaining to do.
I live up in Canada and I've been looking for this but the only one I could find was a Glenfiddich 14 year old rich oak. Which is also finished in new oak. Does anyone know if those are the same whiskies? Maybe for different markets?
Also, this is probably gonna be my new favorite whiskey, I love the 12, but now it's a little too close to water for me. So this is definitely on my list to try.
I'm not sure Rex's moochitude the last few videos has been worthy of breaking out a King Alexander. He's not been trying hard enough to mooch something like that. You need to stiffen up a bit, Daniel.
Not sure if the version sold in Canada is different but it was probably the worst whiskey I've ever had. Tasted of soap and perfume. So disappointed. 14 year was absolutely disgusting. The aftertaste in my mouth would not go away. I had to use mouthwash to get rid of the taste. Yuck.
This is one of the worst whiskey I Have ever had. it's like literally someone took a cheap bottle of bourbon poured it in a decent Scotch half and half in my opinion. Just a very strange taste couple guys tried it and weren't fans either. If you want the flavor profile just pour some Bourbon and Scotch together and there ya go.
Been having eating problems, but my weight is up enough for me to feel comfortable drinking while I watch your videos. It's been 6 months of watching dry. Cheers, guys!
I'm watching this video after they have made it a standard release. Now that I can drink it with y'all!
I am so glad they made this a standard release! So good.
The Glenfiddich 14yo BBR is one of my new favorites I also hope they keep it around. Project XX is also great.

Man, if you didn't like scotch but fell in love with Laphroaig, you a truly a unique dude. Well played, sir.
Most people would say weird, but I like unique.
The 14 year old Glenfiddich Bourbon barrel reserve is my absolute favourite in addition to the Glenlivet 12 year double wood
I love the 14, its my go to, but I did not know the the Homage to American whiskey. Thanks!!
Judging by the cold open, I can tell this isn't your first video of the day.
what?!?! How could you tell?!?!
I've never been a Fiff fan. My father gifted this 14 to me because he didn't like it as it was gifted to him and he's a bourbon drinker. Let me say, this blew away all expectations. New to this channel! Young whiskey drinker here🥃love the chemistry between these two. Awesome content guys!!

I felt like Dora the explorer pointing out the other Glenfiddich bottles while Daniel was looking for them
Amazing reference. Two boys, means I've seen way to many Dora episodes
Sipping it while watching this. It’s very nice. I’m an Islay guy but this is good for a change
"I flew to close to the sun"...........thats hilarious guys!..............I'm sipping on this now and I like it!.......cheers!
"Glengoolie, for the best of times."

I have a bottle of this right now it's damn good stuff in my book.

Drinking this right now. Christmas gift from a coworker. :)

This is my favourite expression from Glenfidddich. I’m hard pressed to find a better whisky from Speyside at this price.
This was my first taste of scotch. I really enjoyed it. I will be looking for it to add to the collection.
Just got a bottle. My new favorite.
Would love to see some of the other offerings from Balcones
Im so happy I saw this video, Ive been looking for a whisky to celebrate my college graduation and Ive been leaning towards the king Alexander. My decision has been made.

You guys are f*cken awesome! Thanks for the great content and reviews. Keep up the great energy!
Going out to buy a bottle today, sounds fantastic.

Just tried this and then the 15, the 14 is so damn good imo
Good news for them, this is still being released 3 years later
It is available in Canada too.
Jamison 12 Distillery Reserve. Do it! I got a bottle sitting on my shelf that's saved for special occasions
I love whiskey but I can never get all the aromas and flavors that y'all get.
i got molasses on the finish. kudos on glenfiddich for making it unique but the molasses is a buzz kill
I started my whiskey journey from this glenfiddich 14.and I loved it.

I completely agree. But next time add about 2 drops of water. It really jumps out a bit after that.
Im not a great lover of scotch. but I really liked this .
On the first day of Christmas,my true love gave to me. . .
I saw the one video on Suntory, are there any plans for other Japanese whisky's? Yamazaki 12 has absolutely spoiled me on whisky as the most delicious brown liquid to touch these lips
We will! we've done Hibiki Harmony: ruclips.net/video/DUIMm9o4IIg/видео.html
And Nikka Coffey ruclips.net/video/u5-g3EzwJaY/видео.html

I want to get your address, and send you something your letter reminded me of. One of my guys through away the box you sent after getting the goodies out of it.
Would you compare it to the deanston virgin oak?
So this is basically what Laphroaig does with the QA cask?
I'm not going to lie. I have noticed some bottles behind you that I have been wondering what you all think. At the end of the video of course. LOL.
Will we ever see Daniel this excited for a 40% abv whiskey again?
And We carry that Dalmore! One of these days!
i picture where rex would be if not for the videos and i picture a will work for scotch sign and a street corner.
He owes his social viability to me entirely.
I have social viability??
you sir , are a social butterfly in so many ways.a star in the mooching!
Pineapple. Close to Oban 14. Oban smoother, but more new oak bite with GF14
Are you adding to the existing Blendageddon or making a new one?
Signed,
Lime 'Ass Kyle'
Don't get me started on our Blendageddon barrel. There was a scandalous series of events that happened off camera... Let's just say, Daniel has some explaining to do.
Lime Ass Kyle. Hell yes. You have a new official name.
HandsomAssKyle, DanielAssKyle will be so pleased!
dalmore king alexander iii i'll be saving for that one
Mix grant's with Jameson 😋
Single malt prestigious because like wine marketing and scotch is critically acclaimed cuz diverse
I live up in Canada and I've been looking for this but the only one I could find was a Glenfiddich 14 year old rich oak. Which is also finished in new oak. Does anyone know if those are the same whiskies? Maybe for different markets?
You can buy it online at Craft Cellars, in Calgary.
I want this bottle 😍
I just want to get drunk with these guys. Hell, drinks on me.
Hells yes.
I spotted the Glenfiddich on the shelf before he did.
Is it smokey like a petey Islay?
i will go and buy that 14yo. Thanks!
Whisk(e)y smart Travis Fimmel.

Honest review be like: It's like drinking '80s cheapest perfume
2 episode 94?
Jason Wilson, that's Chad's legendary attention to detail.
fixed.
My brother got me this whisky for my 21st birthday, its good, but was probably too strong for my first taste of whisky.
You Guys smoke weed right?
"Careful Icarus"
Also, this is probably gonna be my new favorite whiskey, I love the 12, but now it's a little too close to water for me. So this is definitely on my list to try.
Why is Rex barefoot??
The moochatude at work
I'm not sure Rex's moochitude the last few videos has been worthy of breaking out a King Alexander. He's not been trying hard enough to mooch something like that. You need to stiffen up a bit, Daniel.
SSHHH!!! At this point he's just letting it happen. Resistance is futile, etc.
I know. I'm getting soft in my old age.

The behavior on this episode is absolutely deplorable... and chicanerous.
Yuck.
I just got a bottle here, tasted good to me. Sweet and smokey with a nice spicy finish. Try glenmorange if you like a pretty scotch.
Daniel broken. Rex broken. Worst episode ever!
This is one of the worst whiskey I Have ever had. it's like literally someone took a cheap bottle of bourbon poured it in a decent Scotch half and half in my opinion.
