Little Jimmy Scott what a beautiful, sadly underrated legend. Could there be any more exquisite, longing and soul in another humans voice? What a loved & unmatchable Legend.
What an Angelic Voice, and a beautiful & powerful message this song brings- it fills my Heart and my eyes with tears. For ALL of us who are, or have been in LOVE.... Jimmy Scott's wonderous voice- Simply Magical, thanks for Posting!!! Best, Marcie B. Great Interview!!!!!
What a marvelous version!!!! His voice, the way he interprets the lyrics, the no vibrato - learnt from Miles - all of them give this song an unique blend!!! What Bryan Ferry swings, Jimmy Scott slows, the two of them wonderfully!!!
I had the pleasure of composing the string quartet arrangement in this performance. Jimmy Scott was the one of the best. Happy to have been a part of it.
+Charles Coleman ...absolutely beautiful...in my opinion, one of the best arrangements of this song...if not the best........that's why i keep coming back to listen.....
....heard mr. scott passed this week...such a brilliant, soothing stylist...a gentleman and kind soul...thank you, jimmy for your songs and gifts to this world
"Now, spring is turning your face to mine" and the smiles of yesterday burn a flame, as I am truly a slave to love thanks to you beautiful Jimmy Scott. NOW.
...got to meet this gentleman at a supper club...very gracious indeed...wonderful human being....bless you, jimmy..............thanks for the drink....
"I'll be there in the usual place" is that empty part of your heart when the curtains have fallen, the lights are out in the place, the ice cubes have melted and all the smoke that hung heavy has disappeared into the rare burning sky and sadness pervades every pore of your beat up bebop heart, it's over. Too young is even too old to give up.
Rest in peace Jimmy Scott. I was fortunate enough to see him perform @ the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston just a few years ago - already in his '80's, and he performed with grace and flair ... then sat and signed autographs for the entire theater after his performance. There will never be another voice like his ...there never will be.

I was heart-broken when it was removed.
It's too beautiful for words.
