I didn't have to unscrew as I had a paper stuck in our printer. So I took out the paper which rolled the rotating peace and this fixed the error for me.

This worked for me thanks. Be careful getting the case off, this part is tricky. Was about to order new toner then after fixing the jam I can now see 90% remained on the toner I had. Saved me wasting money that wouldn't have solved the issue.

You are my money safer!!!! I had the exact same problem with my Laserjet Pro MFP M26nw there was a black cogwheel behind the plastic on the side where manualpannel is, that i pushed with a little screwdriver and voila it worked. Thanks a lot man!!

Easy fix! Open door. Remove the cartridge. Remove all the paper. Put the cartridge back and close the door. That worked for me. I tried it without removing the paper at first but it didn't work

Worked! But I didn't have to unscrew anything, just removed the cartridge and pulled out the jammed paper. I had no idea there was a paper jam! Silly printer telling me to "install black cartridge" when it should have indicated a paper jam!

This worked. The issue was there is a paper jam that is not detected by the paper jam sensors. This paper jammed the roller feeding the paper into the toner cartridge. Printer thinks there is something wrong with the toner cartridge, hence, the error. In my case, there was a small paper stuck in that roller that ripped off from another paper that was pulled out off the printer when it jammed. I couldn't see it since it was buried inside the roller, and finally saw it when I opened it up some more and followed these procedures of attempting to roll another paper. Saw that small piece of crumpled paper coming out a bit then finally pulled it off with a pair of tweezers. Now, the roller is free of jams. Plugged printer back, turned it on, and voila! Printer is now normally working. Good grief.
